To the guy who was willing to let this footage be shown to the rest of us even tho there are idiots out there claiming this and that about his rank, thank you. LS content is getting better with this editor btw :)
I think it is very obvious that ori is focussing very little on the mechanical side of the game play right now because he is focusing fully on what LS is telling him. All those people saying he is not d5 or that he is bad probably never tried playing while 100% focusing on what someone is teaching you.
What people aren't realizing is both LS and Matt already understand the concept they're trying to teach, so they can find flaws in his play and exploit them before he even knows he made a mistake. This comes along with learning anything new, and takes time to grasp the concept before you can be decent at it. It's just like trying to teach someone how to cs when they've never played a moba. Just because you are D5 doesn't mean you'll instantly pick up on a new strategy you've never used before, especially considering he's joined a region where a lot of his own skill is lost in translation against clearly better players. D5 in EUW is nowhere close to D5 in KR. The gap only widens the farther up the ladder you climb. Everyone in this comment section is probably Silver anyway.
Rasmusb you can easily get d5 without thinking about these things that much, people in d5 won't punish you like ls is doing. Passive play actually gets you pretty high up the ladder, I got d5 as an adc who exclusively focused on not dieing (everything else was autopilot) , took me 2 years in this shithole to realise there were a million things I wasn't actively thinking about
So true. I dare people to watch replays of what they think are their best games. They will be very embarrassed that is their “best.” It’s really hard to notice your mistakes in real time, which is why everyone thinks they’re better than their teammates
This video helped me so much. I'm currently sitting at Bronze 2, playing with Thresh midlanes, Yasuo supports, xayah supports etc. But after watching this video, laning is now more than just farming and not dying for me. I'm making it a habit to not only look at the enemy minions' health to last hit but also at my own to know what my opponent will do as well. This really has opened up the game of league for me. I've realized that you can never truly let your mind wander while playing, even if youre only laning. Thanks so so much for the video. it helps a lot.
Most the comments hating on this guy for trying to learn. "Hur dur this guy is d5 so bad derpa derp." He is up against a challenger player. Big difference. It's easy to bag on a guy when nobody can see your rank, or you playing. I don't even play mid but this was interesting and good on this player for getting coaching because he can see he needs it to get better. Good job.
Love the way this is edited tbh, hope to see more content like this. - the visuals + cutting to importants so theres no waste. Obviously not as applicable to things like full game sessions. But could be of use in vod reviews etc.
Alex Manole totally! Thing is some people don't listen to him & then call him a bad coach hahaha. In order for a coach to teach you have to listen & apply what they say :)
He's a good player with a good understanding of concepts of the game. That doesn't necessarily make him a good coach. He seems really bad with people as far as actually being patient and teaching them calmly. He's a good entertainer and twitch personality though for people who want to pay to be roasted.
Strongly disagree. He knows his shit - agree. But he has no idea how to motivate, explain pre- and post gameplay. He's trying to teach/educate doing a high pressure situation (dude, he's playing challenger, while LS is freaking criticizing you without being specific about his missteps. He's using degrading communication - sighing, talking down and joking with his mate - about the student.. He knows his shit, yes. He can't coach for shit - sorry.
There are many ways to rome and you should not jugde someones way of doing his job without any expertice or background to back you up. And please never think you are an expert just from the information you have about LS from op.gg, stream stuff or reddit posts...
"Not quite my tempo" To anyone interested in actually learning from this, I advice to go watch full twitch vod 19th june - "Watch this to learn how to win lane hard." 1:46:16 For the sake of feedback - overall didn't like the edit, it feels to be more focused on entertaining, with cuts which ignore "silent" parts of the laning, thinking that only "vocal" ones (or where ls takes the wheel) are important. Not to say that the video is bad (compressing it to 15 mins is a good job), just empathising that everyone interested should watch it raw.
5:28 Shame that dmitree cut the very beginning of the lane out, i think how LS moves to the wave and what he autos and when is really important to see aswell... no reason to cut it out to 3-4 secs later imo. Then at 5:44 again, we should be a able to see every bit of the laning to not miss anything... the entire second wave with csing and pressuring qith Q is just cut out edit: just noticed it happens more in the video(s)
I Think that they doesnt Want to exhibit that ls made mistakes. They just Want to show the point that you can actually win the trades against other d5 players. Off couse that changes against a Challenger.
Bit of on old video, but I kinda fail to see how the situation at 5:33 and 12:11 is significantly different from the one at 9:34 or 8:24 ... In all of the scenarios, Irelia was protected by 3 caster minions that would make her hard win a level 1 trade. Not sure what exactly made it so Irelia "cant walk up" at 12:11? I mean, at 14:11 , Irelia takes the Q trade again, so...
i like these kind of videos, not 2 hours long, no ls flame, no stupid comparisons that make no sense. All of that cringy filler gone only useful information :)
I still watch these reviews to this day. The only thing I wish LS would change is how upset he gets. It shows how much he loves the game that it actually upsets him when someone plays bad, but the poor guy is just trying to learn :(
This edit was very clean and the way I’d like to watch most of these videos, well done ! In addition, could you freeze frame or whatever and talk over giving your thoughts and maybe something we might miss that’s a big point or tip ! Thanks :)
please dont cut out any part of gameplay, pls reupload this or make it change, there are parts of laning missing like first few sec and entire second wave and so on
I have a question, would you still do this against an early game jg like j4 or xin? if they gank while you are zoning so far up you will most likely have to blow a sum. in that situation would you want to pull the wave, freeze right before tower hits the minions and then start zoning like this?
Vincent The One freeze in front of your tower is most of the time a good option to avoid ganks. If you are really worried and pushing then hard shove and back up. Get wards down such as enemy raptors and in river which might help. If you see them coming early enough you can usually get away without a sum
Basically yes, u play similar except that rather than trying to crash the wave (what you do when you are set behind) you aim to zone off irelia and setup a freeze. If you notice when LS played and called the gg and exited the game he had roughly double cs (something like 14 Ire vs 27 Ori) and was forcing Irelia home and setting up a HUGE freeze towards himself which at that point basically makes the lane over unless excessive jungler presence comes to help Irelia. Thing is you have to learn how to track/predict the jungler by knowing their routes, checking their CS and watching your jungler position and which camps are up.
nice coaching video. btw if this is practise tool, you can just click the down-arrow-button at the left side and press 'reset', instead of exiting and re-entering the game.
how did you get the korean fonts? i like the way everything is written in this league of legends. usually if i get gold it is written in bold letters and ugly but here not. I want the same please tell me
Im really happy you can put videos like this on yt(I watch your stream whenever I can), especially that Im midlaner (d4/d3 eune, 55 ping cant really go to euw) with 55% soloq wnr on ori, I would like to see more vids about mid coz I know u have the knowledge to talk about it
Quick question about taking tower shots on a champ like Vladimir. I main Vlad, and when I know I can get good poke in for taking a tower shot (since I also know I can heal it up in a q or 2) I'll usually take it, was wondering if this was a good idea to do or if I should do it to force a back or just stay away from taking free damage like that.
I might be wrong but it relates to spacing; imagine there's a karma W between you and enemy Irelia for this case -- and you're supposed to keep a certain distance that'd allow you to exert pressure on Irelia by threatening to poke with Q/W combo, but also staying slightly out of range from Irelia's Q to prevent her from jumping on top of you If Irelia moves behind slightly, you move infront slightly; vice versa -- to keep a fixed gap between each other and also looking at minion positioning so you don't draw too much minion aggro upon AA-ing the Irelia Could be wrong but that's what I take away from this video; seems obvious to me if that's the case since Orianna is one of the champions that will benefit the most from this "concept" compared to other mid laners
Related but not the same. Tethering is, as mentioned above, managing the space between you and your lane opponent so that you are on the edge of your effective range at all times. Zoning just means trying to get them far enough away from your minion wave to deny them XP and CS. Pressuring can be zoning, but not necessarily; it's when you use abilities and/or autos to apply pressure to them, usually with the goal of forcing them to trade HP for CS (for example, pressuring someone under their turret. You're not zoning them off XP but you are pressuring them into messing up CS or having to take damage in return).
pressuring can also just be having the lane advantage and thus the first move(e.g by pushing the lane in your are pressuring your opponent which allows you to harass, ward or help your jungler invade)
I understand being able to apply pressure, but how do I work this out in a 2v2 situation where I'm against something like a Camille jg? Tethering just seems like it'd end up with me dead from a gank
thats where ward timings come in friend. assume camille and shit like that is going to gank you lvl 2 or three. figure out who leashed them and use that to ward where she's most likely going to gank you from.
^that, plus you can cheat to the side that the enemy is on, where most likely they’ll try and position opposite where their jungle is coming from, since most people would normally cheat to the opposite side of the lane of their opponent.
Someone help me understand (from my low elo perspective self). I get that Ori outranges irelia and you want to harrass and tether.. But it seems like there were times when he should’ve respected irelia’s all-ins and backed off but LS kept telling him to go forward??
The idea is that if you're 10 units outside of Irelia's dash (give or take however much depending on ping), she'll never get onto you -- of course this is assuming that you are able to dodge her stun. So, you keep her at a range in which she can't dash to you, but you can still act on her whenever she tries to walk up to the wave. By forcing her back and staying just at that range, she has to get off the wave and you can exert full dominance. When you're in a losing matchup, the game becomes HP preservation, not farming / trading.
What I got from this: Ori loses at lvl3 no matter what, so Ori has to win at lvl2 (if she is not careful with wave, she can lose lvl2 too). So she has to have a big wave backing her up at lvl1-2, and have a thin enemy wave (less agro damage), that's why she wants to slow push by hitting the melee a few times. After that, she has to zone Irelia for XP and poke with Q + auto or Q + W + auto making a big hp advantage before level 3. At some point Irelia gets a huge caster under tower, and Ori can poke her even more when she goes to farm those casters. Did I get it right? did I miss anything else?
How long is it until he is going to learn that the way he played the lane out level one means that he cant continue playing this forward at lvl 3+ because he just loses the all in?
Holy moly, what region is that D5 from? He's horrible, missing so much cs for no reason and trying to copy LS mouseclick spam but doing it without a reason or a thought behind it.. I coach people in silver/gold and they're on par with that dude at the start
YESSS THANK YOU THESE ARE THE THINGS I LOVE TO SEE dont get me wrong i loved the vods but i need to LEARNNNN im a plat 4 sup and mid pleb and only a god like LS can teach me how to get better btw get on beyond the rift in the next EP PLEASE!!!
How is he d5? Is na that easy compared to other regions. He has mechanics of a gold player in eu. Can aswell be his trenght is macro and decision making. Good video
old starcraft habit.. ppl think if you keep your action per minute high, you are keeping you awareness level and therefore your reaction time at a good place, instead of just letting your hand rest when there is nothing relevant to do.. also they've been using APM to measure how good a player is, so ppl tried making their APM high by stupid methods like spamming useless buttons whenever they could
Starting E level 1 is probably a lot better vs Irelia as Ori. If you're zoning that aggressively, your Q can only be used if she Q's you first. Arbitrarily throwing the ball for poke like at 8:26 leaves Ori very vulnerable to Irelia's all in, and even though she doesn't have conqueror up, it's a losing trade. E start will prevent damage from enemy minion aggro when you autoattack Irelia and give bonus resistances if she does Q onto you.
1000% the kind of videos i wanna see from you LS
There's more coming soon, Watch out ;)
Op.gg roast compilation is always appreciated
There is like 3 hours of stream like this. I've watched it all, but i'm willing to watch it again cuz the editing is so clean
Can u link it ?
To the guy who was willing to let this footage be shown to the rest of us even tho there are idiots out there claiming this and that about his rank, thank you. LS content is getting better with this editor btw :)
This editor is so clean and smooth I love it ;)
Thank's, always happy to read positive comments!

at first i was like wtf is going on ls video edited, am i really on ls channel xD
Did you edit the nocturne vs graves short commentary video? The edit was sexy as fuck, I was in love with it.
I think it's the font on the korean server that makes players so good
Can confirm, went up 2 divisions one week after setting the client correctly.
LMAO I fucking love the Korean font. I'd give this comment gold if I could.
Is there a way to get the Korean font ? I find really outdated posts on the internet.
lol 200iq comment :')
And dont forget to combo with skin

All those people saying he is not d5 or that he is bad probably never tried playing while 100% focusing on what someone is teaching you.
I'm currently learning to drive a car and yeah... you get the most basic stuff wrong because of nervousness lol
What people aren't realizing is both LS and Matt already understand the concept they're trying to teach, so they can find flaws in his play and exploit them before he even knows he made a mistake. D5 vs. Challenger obviously he’s gona look bad
Ls, thank you for this free high quality content you bring us.
All those people who say „boosted ori“ probably do even more mistakes themselves but dont notice them and blame other people for the consequences
all those people are hardstuck in silver/gold anyways. its the internet dude where lows shit talk other players . crazy right

Cool editing and your explanations really help low elo players like me! Please more!

This content is very informative as usual, but this editor just enhances the viewing experience even more.
This is the perfect way to present your content! Great editing and great session! Love it!
This is pure gold man, thanks LS.
Love the way this is edited tbh, hope to see more content like this. - the visuals + cutting to importants so theres no waste. Obviously not as applicable to things like full game sessions. But could be of use in vod reviews etc.
Great stuff, i finally grasped how zoneing works

Best coaching content ever created on this channel
Was just watching the MVP vs KZ game, and noticed that BDD on the ori used this type of zoning/denial so much. Great vid!
"Not quite my tempo"
To anyone interested in actually learning from this, I advice to go watch full twitch vod

I cant find this video you mentioned!
This is just so exciting to watch after getting zoned like this in the same way by Max.
I love the format! More of this please
I love the new editing! So clean!
Kinda insane how good this video still is today. The matchup is basically the same as it was 5 years ago.

This edit was very clean and the way I’d like to watch most of these videos, well done ! In addition, could you freeze frame or whatever and talk over giving your thoughts and maybe something we might miss that’s a big point or tip ! Thanks :)
Great video i love you LS!!!
I like this type of videos with editing
12:30, why does he not feel safe compared to feeling safe after he botches the minion wave?
please dont cut out any part of gameplay, pls reupload this or make it change, there are parts of laning missing like first few sec and entire second wave and so on
I have a question, would you still do this against an early game jg like j4 or xin? if they gank while you are zoning so far up you will most likely have to blow a sum. in that situation would you want to pull the wave, freeze right before tower hits the minions and then start zoning like this?
Vincent The One freeze in front of your tower is most of the time a good option to avoid ganks. If you are really worried and pushing then hard shove and back up. LS at his finest
nice coaching video. btw if this is practise tool, you can just click the down-arrow-button at the left side and press 'reset', instead of exiting and re-entering the game.
Can't play practice tool with someone else- this was a custom game.
Great video and great people
Please make more of these!!!
More like this rather than 1-2 hours of pure recording would be lovely.
how did you get the korean fonts? i like the way everything is written in this league of legends. usually if i get gold it is written in bold letters and ugly but here not. I want the same please tell me
Can you do it but for top lane
I'm getting flashbacks to when Beaverton upgraded the quality of his coaching boss and then quit less than a month later
Im really happy you can put videos like this on yt(I watch your stream whenever I can), especially that Im midlaner (d4/d3 eune, 55 ping cant really go to euw) with 55% soloq wnr on ori, I would like to see more vids about mid coz I know u have the knowledge to talk about it
55 ping cant go to euw XD X D X
An editor? After all these years? :o
Congrats
Quick question about taking tower shots on a champ like Vladimir. I main Vlad, and when I know I can get good poke in for taking a tower shot (since I also know I can heal it up in a q or 2) I'll usually take it, was wondering if this was a good idea to do or if I should do it to force a back or just stay away from taking free damage like that.
What is tethering?
I might be wrong but it relates to spacing; imagine there's a karma W between you and enemy Irelia for this case -- and you're supposed to keep a certain distance that'd allow you to exert pressure on Irelia by threatening to poke with Q/W combo, but also staying slightly out of range from Irelia's Q to prevent her from jumping on top of you
If Irelia moves behind slightly, you move infront slightly; vice versa -- to keep a fixed gap between each other and also looking at minion positioning so you don't draw too much minion aggro upon AA-ing the Irelia
Could be wrong but that's what I take away from this video; seems obvious to me if that's the case since Orianna is one of the champions that will benefit the most from this "concept" compared to other mid laners
How I understand it is to keep the enemy's distance fixed. Walk up if when you have the possibility, go back when you have to
zoning/tethering/pressuring are the same thing right?
Related but not the same. Tethering is, as mentioned above, managing the space between you and your lane opponent so that you are on the edge of your effective range at all times. Zoning just means trying to get them far enough away from your minion wave to deny them XP and CS. Pressuring can be zoning, but not necessarily; it's when you use abilities and/or autos to apply pressure to them, usually with the goal of forcing them to trade HP for CS (for example, pressuring someone under their turret. You're not zoning them off XP but you are pressuring them into messing up CS or having to take damage in return).
pressuring can also just be having the lane advantage and thus the first move(e.g by pushing the lane in your are pressuring your opponent which allows you to harass, ward or help your jungler invade)
whats the positioning for ranged champs tho? Obviously not as pushed up as that right?
Thank you so much LS
Does anybody know the date of the vod that this came from?? I would like to see the entire thing.
wish i could see full vid
I didn't understand what hitting two meles and one caster does. Can someone explain pls?
I understand being able to apply pressure, but how do I work this out in a 2v2 situation where I'm against something like a Camille jg? Tethering just seems like it'd end up with me dead from a gank
thats where ward timings come in friend. assume camille and shit like that is going to gank you lvl 2 or three.
figure out who leashed them and use that to ward where she's most likely going to gank you from.
^that, plus you can cheat to the side that the enemy is on, where most likely they’ll try and position opposite where their jungle is coming from, since most people would normally cheat to the opposite side of the lane of their opponent.
this video isnt supposed to simulate a real game in terms of jungle and 2v2
Perfect video
wat a great coach: woah woah woah
and also : what are you doing what are you doing
Loved this video. Could we also have one with a champion that doesn't have as good as a laning phase, like kassadin for example?
Where can u find more info about these kind of coachings in korea by u?
i like this kind of video MORE PLEASE!!!!!
Great, another dime-a-dozen channel with these typical editors.
So fckin great, thx for putting out this quality stuff
why do you hit tab so often? are you constantly watching CS or something? Or checking to see if they used a potion or not? I dont understand
whats up with the constant scoreboard checking when ls LS playing?
Isn't this an old stream? When the South Áfrican dude recently got to kr?
LS cosplays a minecraft spider at 12:38 lol
every1 keep in mind he's probably playing weird caus LS is watching him play
love the new editing LS much easier to watch, this is my first and last comment enjoy...
i found this to be very informative nice
The irelia is beasting and feasting even in the middle of a huge minion wave...
all this start again reminds of me of the movie "whiplash" where the conductor yells "not quite my tempo" to the kid
also why do you max Q firt and not W? im curious for reasoning?
Nice and informative! :)
Great Vid!!
How long is it until he is going to learn that the way he played the lane out level one means that he cant continue playing this forward at lvl 3+ because he just loses the all in?
Is this orianna player the one LS convinced to go from Africa to Korea for league?
Awesome video
By "crashing", does he mean pushing the wave into the turret?
Holy moly, what region is that D5 from? He's horrible, missing so much cs for no reason and trying to copy LS mouseclick spam but doing it without a reason or a thought behind it.. I coach people in silver/gold and they're on par with that dude at the start
YESSS THANK YOU THESE ARE THE THINGS I LOVE TO SEE dont get me wrong i loved the vods but i need to LEARNNNN im a plat 4 sup and mid pleb and only a god like LS can teach me how to get better btw get on beyond the rift in the next EP PLEASE!!!
What I want to know is if this could apply to adcs or If the fact that it is a duo lane affects how it works
is your stats table binded to right mouse click?
How is he d5? Is na that easy compared to other regions. He has mechanics of a gold player in eu. Can aswell be his trenght is macro and decision making. Good video
Please do more like these
Keep doing these videos
More videos like this pls but with ls playing too
What's with the TAB spamming?
Awesome vid, but why does LS spam TAB all the time?
old starcraft habit.. ppl think if you keep your action per minute high, you are keeping you awareness level and therefore your reaction time at a good place, instead of just letting your hand rest when there is nothing relevant to do.. also they've been using APM to measure how good a player is, so ppl tried making their APM high by stupid methods like spamming useless buttons whenever they could
It only took Dimitry 2 months lol
Quality takes time ;)
All jokes aside though, I apologize for the delay and thank you guys for your patience =)!
E start will prevent damage from enemy minion aggro when you autoattack Irelia and give bonus resistances if she does Q onto you.
yeah maybe u are right. But in this video its not about learning the matchup, its about learning zoning, tehtering as mentioned in the title.
