Supposedly, the showrunners of the first season have changed and a new guy, David Wiener, will be the showrunner for season 2. So if that gives you any hope, there is... the only one we know of.
Edit: it's better than it was... Kinda.

I hope the trailer is a true representation of season 2. It definitely feels a lot more like the Halo I know.
One thing you have to remember, in the game, YOU are master chief. You don't see his face, because the game is a "first-person shooter". So, it's the person at the game console--which is every different fan--that is "John 117". You can't really do that in a TV show/movie, without getting really weird. (There was one movie--can't remember the name--that came out several years ago that was a "first-person" movie. It didn't do very well...)
It has abit of a Forward Unto Dawn vibe to it. It was a weekly show which aired before Halo 4 came out and then got condensed into a movie. To me personally, the best Halo Live Action so far. If you like Halo, you should definitely give it a try.
I'd actually be wondering why John's helmet is on all the time in the first place. Oooooohh!! Burn.
I really liked the 1st Season. But there were some mistakes in it. Like, what is 'Halo' ? The makers didn't explain it properly. And some characters are missing in the last 2-3 episodes. The makers should have worked on more detailing. There are also some issues in the screenplay. But apart from that, the show was great. The production budget was also quite impressive. I just loved the show.
Season 1 was a slap in the face to the fanbase. The writers had NO clue what Halo was. I really really hope they listened to the feedback and fixed all the problems. I don’t ever want to see master cheeks again
the series was originally written as a 6 episode Cinemax show.. that's why it was full of.. cheeks lol. it then changed writers a bunch of times.. and directors.. and project leads.. and studios, until it finally ended up as Paramount+ project. This season, there was none of those things, just a new show runner, and all new writters dedicated to making a Halo story. So hopefully, it will be much better.
What are all the problems?
@@theserpx Okay, so some cast are now black, a human spy working with the covenant after humanity abandoned her and...oh, another team that isn't Blue Team, but still makes up the role that Blue Team played. Yes...a complete departure. I think you might be using the word "complete" out of context. But okay, let's call it a complete departure.
While we're doing that, let's try to be objective and look at both sides; What are some of the things/elements that remained consistent and what are/were some of the things the show did well?
Halo 1-3 is Goated
Halo 4-6 Mid/Pretty decent
Halo show Season 1 - think of it as alternate timeline, and you're good. Definitely doesn't follow the games, but is a decent story in its own separate timeline
I grew up with all the games etc and I actually loved season 1... Yeah, definitely different,but it makes sense.
The first Halo is "you're already in this world,go to fight,no face,no personality,just a playable character for the player to project on it" that works perfectly for a shooter.
If you are making a show however,you need to build,you need to cook slowly,make the action count as a climax and not just doing action 'cause in that case it would not even need an story and it would be something incredibly expendable in terms of fiction.
So it makes total sense to me that season 2 is a way more accurate adaptation from the lore,once the characters and the context are already built.
If you compare Halo with the last of us.
Both have adaptations that didn't had not even half of the action than the games.
However the games of tlou had already way more story involved than Halo,which was born just to be a shooter.
So in Halo anyone can feel more the differences than in tlou even if both shows actually did the same...
Now,I watched Halo with my parents,who loves SciFi and are the reason for me to watch aliens at the age of 6.
And they actually loved the show as I did.
So most of people who criticized the show,did it from a gamer's perspective,which doesn't make sense for fiction.
And it's ironic to hear "I only played Halo 4" because at that time this same gamers was already criticizing where the story was going with developing more the characters... Not even talk about the critics from the ones after that one.
I want to see some ODST teams in action this season

So I beat 1 and 2 and played 3, 4 and ODST. But i've read the first 4 books. I stopped in the middle of the 5th. The books are nothing like this show for sure. The best part about the books is the other spartans and their training though. I hope they retcon first season and show true flashbacks.

There r 2 major things to fix. First more action, the fight scenes were pretty badass. Also he looks dumb caring his helmet everywhere just add a hook on the back of his armor to hang it.
I know people have their reasons to dislike the show. I’m there for the good moments.
I’d like to see the reaction to it. Halo 1 & 3 were my favorite games of the series. Halo is a great game to take your time with and play but it’s not a series I try to watch other people play. If you play it, I’ll watch it, but it’s not a big deal. Just finish it and maybe stream some gameplay if you feel like it.
I never played the game because I was a 2600 Atari guy but I really like the first season. I’ve tried to get my nephew to show me how to play the game because he knows he’s young enough he he played the game I didn’t that they do have the game at Dave & Buster’s and I’ve been wanting to try it but some reason I never get around to it but I thought because of the Paramount+ and Showtime merger That this might’ve been canceled but by seeing this trailer finally I see that it is going forward and I’m looking forward to the second season and I hope you do do reviews of it. I like your reviews. I am currently now doing your echo reviews and you’re down to I think two more episodes to go at this point , but yes, regardless what channel you do it on I will watch your reviews and I do like the show, but I am looking forward to the second season to get more into it

Jaby, you *need* to finish the first three games. It'll give you insight / hindsight on the general "tapestry" of the overall story. I was cool with you watching along with Synthell (boy was that almost two years ago?!).
BTW, a lot of game streamers / reactors are or have been uploading their Halo journey on YT and draw a decent number of views. At 3:21 I think you're referring to the Grunts (Unggoy) with their helium-like voices.

Read like two of the books and he still rarely took off his helmet. Pretty sure he was described as pale because of it. Don't mind him taking it off sometimes but the show had it off way too often and at times that didn't make sense for him to do so. Didn't even finish the first season but will watch that reaction of yours to it to remember where I left off. Trailer makes this next season look good though.

The original 3 games is definitely worth to experience. They really need to take a look at the games and mandalorian, having the helmet consistently off is just out of character. This trailer looks promising and they maybe taking inspirations from the first book. Even if the show is not going the same direction as the books, the books still have some of the best stories to tell from this universe. If they keep the same tone of impending doom and hopelessness in the trailer for the entire second season, it’s gonna be quite a comeback.

About that based on the books part. I read those books. All of them. I ran out of books to read in the series but I haven’t picked one up in over 7 years.
That said I didn’t get mad about the helmet removal but I didn’t love it either. It’s just more badass when it stays on. I’ll save my opinion for after the season ends.

I've grown up knowing about the games but never played them so didn't really have much of an attachment to the franchise. So coming in fresh to the Halo series I really liked the mystery and worldbuilding of the first season as sort of a prequel to the main action. I love action - and look forward to it in S2 - but I hope they don't ditch entirely sacrifice the rest.
YOU HAVE TO PLAY halo Reach then , it's kinda standalone , you don't need to play 1,1,3
At least do that before the series , I think that will be more impactfull.
As a lifelong Halo fan I cannot wait to see the convenient armada in action on reach. Seeing the carriers gives me goosebumps
I never played the game so i dont care he took off his helmet. Also, its a series for tv, for gamers and non gamers alike. I wouldnt have watched it if he had kept his helmet on. I liked the first season, some parts were a bit meeh, but all in all, i loved it. Also, they used actual Hungarian actors to talk actual Hungarian as Planet Reach is Hungarian. So thats a positive for me.
I am fine with different character designs since they are like an alternative universe. Still, some of the stories felt random and Master Chief getting horny with someone while Cortana is watching feels like a dick move by the writers. I heard they fired all of the season 1 writers so hopefully, the next writers can redeem the series.

As someone who has both played the games, and read a good amount of the books, i really enjoyed season 1 (there are things i had issue with, but it didn't spoil my overall experience)
Was cool to see the expanded lore stuff in the show that have been mostly left out of the games
This teaser was pretty damn cool. Such a pivotal event in Halo's history, and it looks just as horrifying as one would expect

Not watching season 2 to protest season 1. We all only have up to 100 years of life. Let’s not waste a second of it on that garbage show.
and you watched every episode correct? Halo the series has more fake haters than anything... ever. and it's kind of dumb. Yes, the show was far from perfect. but the absolute hate for is just all fake. It was litterally Paramount+ most watched show. If people actually don't like something, they just stop watching it.
@@jeremycovelli Jeremy, I watched every episode and didn't like what I saw. I did like the Halo parts of the show when the Covenant attacks and we the the Spartans fight. But that was all I liked about the serious. To be honest, the team at Bungie should have written the first season for television. Bring back the original creators because they knew how to tell that story. If it's not broke, really don't fix it but we're seeing Hollywood hubris and people who want to make a name for themselves instead of telling stories. But anyway, real fans hate bait and switch. Hollywood does this all the time because deep down they feel it's ok to bait and switch people. It's in their culture. That doesn't align with my culture which is try to do the right thing as much as possible. Create your own stories instead to ruining the lore for your own agenda.
I can't believe this garbage get a new season, kinda makes me wish Raised by Wolves was produced by Paramount. About Halo season 2, I will stop watching the moment he takes his helmet off again.
