The Percy Jackson films are identical in their disrespect of the source material and hatred from the fanbase as the M. Night Shyamalan Last Airbender film.
12:33 people were not mad how the movie ended…they were mad that they changed 95% of the story.
Every fan deserves a good adaptation of the thing they like and the Percy Jackson series seems to be just that. There's a blink and you miss it scene in the first few moments of the trailer where Percy is holding a bag of blue candies. That is very important for reasons the show will go into and I'm bringing it up because the actors of the movies did an interview answering questions from fans and the question was if they like blue food and they had no idea what that meant. The movies were great as movies, as adaptations? Not as much. And we deserve to have something great from people who love and are just as much invested in the source material as us.
Blue Eye Samurai is maybe the best thing I’ve seen all year. Wouldn’t mind watching cha’boys react to it.

Blue Eye Samurai was amazing. I know your dance card is full, but I'd quite enjoy Adam rewatching this along side Jay reacting to it for the first time. Fingers crossed that it gets a season 2 and propels you to make that.

Yay, you guys watched the official Percy Jackson trailer! I see that you say that it seems very similar to the movies, which sure, it looks very similar, but I tell you ... The story is the main part, and the story in the book actually makes sense. In the movie, the villain literally gives the trio a way to escape the underworld and there are just so many things that just don't make sense. The story in the book is personally, far more appealing. But I hope I can see what you think after you watched the show if you watch it!

I’m so glad you guys watched the ACTUAL Percy Jackson trailer. I’m so excited to watch this when it comes out, the books were my childhood. This show will do the books justice compared to the movies, and I genuinely hope you guys consider watching it when it comes out in a few weeks.

The Percy Jackson films were fine if you're just look at them as a movies and not as adaptations. As a lifelong Percy Jackson fan, they were absolutely terrible adaptations of the books, and they are infamous in the fandom for being awful. Even the author of the books stated that he refuses to watch the movies because he hated what the filmmakers did with them. Percy Jackson is a HUGE book franchise spanning over multiple series and like 20+ books. Disney definitely saw the $$ that they could make if they pleased the author and book fans. In fact when Disney bought Fox that was the main question in a lot of Percy Jackson fan's minds - will Disney make a good adaptation since they acquired the rights to this huge franchise that has never been done justice on screen before. So unlike Marvel, Star Wars, and other things they have a real opportunity to build this cinematic franchise up from the bottom themselves, and they already have a dedicated fanbase.
This. Though I think I kinda liked the first movie(when I watched it as a kid). It's not a good adaption, but it's fine. Sea of Monsters was such a trainwreck, that I'm pretty sure it was the first movie I ever hated. (I remember waiting for some scenes and they just never happen and some random other stuff happens. Like what was that Kronos fight about???)
I mean basically every semi-nerdy person aged 18-25 roughly is a MASSIVE Percy fan in my experience. I’d be pretty shocked if it isn’t a huge success

Imaginary is genuinely the scariest trailer I have ever seen in my life. I think it's because I had no idea what it was or what genre it was going into it, so the sudden shift from, "Oh cool, this is a cute story where a little girl rediscovers her mom's old toy/imaginary friend and helps her reconnect with her childhood!" And then it took a SHARP left turn. Freaked me out SO bad. Still haven't stopped thinking about it.

By the way Percy Jackson, if you read the books starts off as a 12 year old and not a teen like in the movie version so it makes sense that he looks and appears 12 in the upcoming show.

If your definition of dudes includes female dudes (dude can a gender neutral term), then yes Blue Eye Samurai is a dude show. But considering how integral (and very well done) the broad female experience is to the show, it is definitely not a show just for men. Which is one of the things my husband and I absolutely loved about it. The female and disability representation just kept getting cooler, in that it kept being nuanced and complex, and that nuance and complication only made the rad fight scenes even more dope. I found this a very good and challenging show, and it is very clear that it was made by both men and women in awesome, equal collaboration with each other. More please.

The first Percy Jackson movie was a perfectly fine movie. But pretty much the only things it had in common with the book were the names and the very general concept of demigods.
And even that might have been fine (disappointing, but fine) if it was an adaptation of a standalone book. But Percy Jackson is a series. The first book does a lot of subtle setting up for things that don't pay off/get revealed til 3,4,5 books down the line. And the movie had none of that (iirc it even changed things that _were_ setup to the point they didn't work as setup anymore).
I remember being extremely surprised they even managed to make a second one (not just for budget reasons, just because the basis for the story wasn't really there), and I was extremely _un_ surprised that they didn't adapt any further books that way. They would've either had to deviate further and further from the books until it was an entirely different story, _or_ they would've had to do a lot of retroactive explaining and that would've just felt cheap and made all those juicy reveals and payoffs feel unearned.
In general that movie felt like someone adapted the first Percy Jackson book without ever having read the rest of the series (even just the first 5 books).

Season 2 for Halo looks awesome. I enjoyed the first season, even tho' I have played the game, I enjoyed the story of Master Chief & co. I maybe in the minority but season 1 was entertaining. Sesson 2 is on my "watch" list. Peace ✌️🍑

childhood accident injuries are fun hey. I once ran into a rusty barbed wire fence at full sprint in pitch black darkness when i was about 13/14 coz I was playing hide and seek tag with my friends at night, I got found and was chased under a huge eucalyptus tree where it was completely pitch black in the shadow underneath it, turned out there was an old barbed wire fence underneath it, I was stuck hanging in it off the ground like a scarecrow, my friends had to lift me up and pull me off it (which involved the barbed being pulled out of my flesh) lol. Good times

I too look forward to reading the plot of 'Imaginary' on Wikipedia, cause that trailer was NOPE on a NOPE stick!
I'm not sure I'll watch the show but I did watch a reaction to the trailer with some people who had seen the movies like I had but had someone there who had been a fan of the books and the fan seemed very happy with the trailer. I think this is for them and maybe bring in a new young audience.
And guys, if you loved Blue Eye Samurai, check out Onimusha. Also very cool animation and an awesome story. Hoping that also gets a second season.

Jay’s point about Master Chief’s helmet is how I feel about Tom Holland having his mask on for most of his next Spider-Man movie, it’s simply necessary.
Halo s2 trailer legit looks great so maybe they can bounce back strong, I hope so. Penguin looks awesome and I can’t wait for that, Colin Farrell is so damn good.

Halo: I liked the first season, but yeah, there is a reason Halo is called Halo. Do it!
Percy Jackson: might be alright, but it looks just like the first movie for the most part.
Imaginary: looks fun. I'm a nail to the foot buddy, btw. Stepped on a board with a nail sticking out covered in leaves. Went right trough the shoe and into my heel.
Penguin: I still don't see Coling Farrell in this makeup either. Amazing!

Ted: the movies were fun. Looks good. Odds nostalgia is all about Nu Metal. Disturbed, Drowning Pool, goth and black coats.
Monarch: this is the show that breaks my vow to not subscribe to Apple+. Gotta watch Foundation, Silo, Masters of the Air and Infiltration while I do. This looks 10x times better than Godzilla x Kong. Hopefully there will be a Blu-ray release, like they did with For All Mankind.

I honestly liked the first season of Halo, and will give season two its chance, they tried SO hard, and while parts did miss...there was enough there for me to go in again!! The Percy Jackson series looks VERY promising! Kind of like a Harry Potter for the Greek mythos...and I like that! I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE PENGUIN!!! Colin Farrell freakin OWNED that role!! If you have never seen it, watch the short where he puts on the prosthetics and makeup for the first time...and his voice and mannerisms change...its freaking genius!! Blue Eyed Samurai is one of the BEST anime Netflix has put out IMO. I have LOVED their stuff lately, the whole Castlevania series they put out was amazeballs, but this anim blew me away. The small details like the creaking floorboards, the fights and the fact that this is ABSOLUTELY not for anyone young...I mean the bush and dong just pop out and your like...well it makes sense...but damn...(0.o)
