It's been the first 9 hours of this video coming out, checking my stats, my average view duration is 50 seconds. This is probably one of the most fast-paced and detailed videos on making a tunnel bore with Create and people can't even watch my video for a full minute 😭
I'd recommend actually using a slightly different design, being replacing the minecart with a furnace minecart, and then you can just use regular rails and no redstone blocks. It may move slower in theory, but due to the time it takes to mine the redstone blocks I think its actually faster, and it only needs coal which is quite easy to get (especially with a bore), which you can add a deployer 2 blocks above the cart to automate.
I didn't think anyone would leave a comment on this video interested in the actual create mod lol. Yeah it isn't the best design and perhaps the coal design is a little better because you'll also free up space. The redstone blocks would slow things down but if it's a tunnel bore, the times where it will be most slowed down is when there is is nothing for the drills to mine ahead of it, as with your suggested design it would go forward immediately, I feel though in most cases, the tunnel bore is 95% of the time going to mine stone/ores/dirt
