I love that the early dancer was done for an early +9, but the process of skipping the ladder involved killing the third Lord anyway.
The ladder was its own boss lmao
i mean the warp at the end basically requires doing dancer early. you don't kill her early to get +9, you just have to get her out of the way so that the room is clear. otherwise killing aldritch would teleport you to the dancer fight which puts you at a huge risk to lose the teardrop glitch.
@@chastermief839 he doesn't kill dancer during the ladder skip, but he does kill the old woman so that the fight is already active and it places you outside her arena. you can see dancer alive and below him as he quicksteps across to the balcony. 35:15 you can see the dancer there. I would guess his backed up save was from before he killed dancer.
@@chastermief839fun fact: any last kill of the lords will teleport you there. But aldrich is the most common to beat last

Thank you ymfah, as a paraplegic person I am very motivated by this video as I have wanted to complete Dark Souls 3 for a long time but always assumed walking was a hard prerequisite.

@@spooplegeist5260 Hawk Ring does affect throwing knives and kukri, it's Lloyd's Sword Ring that doesn't do anything for consumables.

From now on whenever I'll face what seem like an impossible hurdle in a soulslike, I'll remember that it probably won't take me 4 months and $2649.99 dollars to overcome. I love how all the other channels that do stuff like this will be like “so obviously we have to climb ladders to complete the game so that’s allowed” then ymfah is out here finding the perfect bypass to adhere to the challenge 100%. You’ll always be the OG
You're kind of right, but people who do glitchless runs have to climb the ladders since the way ymfah did it was with the tear drop glitch
@@uuqu ymfah sets a rule, and follows it to the letter. A glitchless challenge run would be easier than this. The whole point is overcoming a seemingly impossible challenge, including the parts that seem downright unfair.
I don't blame others for bending the rules given how arbitrary the work around often is. But I also think the fun part of ymfah's videos aren't the challenges but the glitches those challenges lead to. They're like an excuse to show off a bunch of broken shit and frame it in an entertaining way.
They have to do that, because they know there will be imbeciles who will instantly start crying about "run failed" because you had to climb down a ladder, or had to do something.....There always have to be those "special" people.

I like how while the hacker reset his progress almost entirely, the only thing ymfah was worried about was ladders
he didn't need to reset too much as he had a save back-up recently to when the hacker got em.
I genuinely thought it was some sort of crazy exploit he had set up to complete the run. Should have known better, ymfah doesn't just beat a challenge run, he completes it to 100%.

Hey man, I don't know if you still read the comments, but I just wanted to say how much I love your videos. No balking, meaning you have to go straight on nonstop from start to finish with zero backtracking to a previous area unless its to get to the next area

Reminds me of the clip in their Skyrim no walk when they were in the dwemer ruins which filled with water. The moment they stepped into it, it would just cut to the music of the Ash Lake.

I always love how these are framed like tutorials, like anyone else would have the patience, skill and insanity enough to try these as well. But good gosh golly darn are they fun to watch.

What I absolutely love about Ymfah's videos is the quick way he gets jokes out (Mitten Squad is pretty decent at that as well.) There are multiple challenge runners who are either dry as rice cakes or go on obnoxiously long rant style jokes which I utterly despise.
I've rewatched BL4 so many times because of just how both great Ymfah is as a player and for how hilariously the Ludwig and Orphan fights were edited.
I gotta say, I watch a lot of stuff on RUclips, but this has to be one of the most fascinating and wild things I have ever seen on here. The idea, the realization, the editing, everything here was absolutely stunning. Great great job man!

I love how some of the most difficult non-DLC bosses take no time and effort, but a ladder requires $2400 and 20 minutes out of a 50 minute video to defeat.

I love how 12:30 - 13:46 would've normally been a "hit a snag in this plan" moment, like "Iron Flesh doesn't let Quick Step happen" [sad music], but instead everything works out perfectly and is pretty hype.

But seriously, any movement that the red phantoms did was replicated at 29:24 without walking, so with the trouble and expenses in mind, he deserves lenience for such a minor detail. With all the effort, headaches, and money put into this, anything done to ease that stress is more than allowed. I still consider the run flawless and the man an inspiration to all who seek to overcome the impossible.
I just love the effort. The amount of preparation and backtracking necessary to create viable builds to solve problems that should have never existed in the first place.

He is a masochist so yeah.
Given that Ymfah tends to show all the strategies he tries, even ones that aren't successful, I can only conclude that he went through this entire run (one where his main problem in combat is that he can't dodge) without it ever occurring to him that using a good shield might be a viable strategy.
He used Iron Flesh as a defensive tool before considering using a shield. This truly says a lot about Dark Souls 3 shields.
well, he did use a shield... for stamina regen
The stat requirements for the shield you would use, ie the moaning shield or Havel shield are pretty high, also you would have to kill either of those npcs which would be a real pain in the ass.

@@fashionsuckman4652 I don’t think you remember how useless shields were in Dark Souls 3. Optimal melee build was low encumbrance with a huge weapon and not bothering without a shield because blocking cost too much stamina. It was Dodge Souls most of the time.

@@9024tobi I'm not sure if you missed it, but the "new game plus" hack was actually one of the less awful things people can do.
Basically, there's a hole in the dark souls servers that allows hackers near direct access to your computer.
If they invade etc, they can easily exploit this hole to do anything they like. It's very scary, but luckily it is being fixed at least.

This was an amazing feat, not only for completing the game with such a handicap but knowing the technical outs for the major obstacles! Truly Impressive.
One way you could've dealt with Gael is to you poison resin/buff for further passive damage. When I learned about that, I managed to beat him first try on one of my playthroughs.
This was absolute craziness. Deserves a sub.

You'd think that if you had the strength to fight a bunch of lords that you could climb up a few meters but... nope!

@@baconator_x4098 I think that's just a glitch that happens when you beat Aldrich that way, signified by the Kira time reset edit that he did.
@@baconator_x4098 He mentions in the reddit thread that he never actually defeated Dancer in that savefile because he knew of the ladder problem, he only recorded that part for the video after the run

@@marclenraymagdaraog691 People usually don't like to be the leafy of the situation no matter how bad the other person is, it's usually not a good look. DS3 hackers deserve that though, literally killed the multiplayer experience for everybody.
