My take aways from this very informative podcast
    10 plant points per day
Gradually increase fibre intake to 50gms per day
    Fibre intake very very important
Carbs not bad, sugar is bad
Try oil free cooking for 70% of the meal at least
Fiber as snack and nuts with meals
    Lifestyle changes, sleep early
    Have fruit before meals
Lentils are a very good source of protein
Stick to whole things, whole grains, whole fruits, no fruit juices etc
Stay away from ultra processed foods
Keep fruits in ur kitchen and avoid keeping junks
Only 2000 dollars(in terms of daily requirement of calories, on an average) to spend per day, spend each and every penny judiciously, like even a single calorie should be nutritious

Lentils are a very good source of protein is a myth. It contains more about of Carbs than protein. Eating pulses and legumes will give the side effect of gas bloating in most of the people. The class 1 protein source is only from Animal source. Someone to loose weight and to increase their protein intake needs to depend on Animal based protein source.

    Lets keep it simple:
Have lots of variety (rainbow color) of clean, whole/unprocessed foods preferably plant based - conscious timed meals with an eye on your portion size (not your TV) - Exercise at least 20-30min daily, keep yourself happy and positive, sleep and wake up on time, get some sunshine and take a walk with nature and your Self.

I love what she says Dr Pal rather than the other nutritionist, who says you got to be a meat eater to stay healthier. You always says reduce meat in cooking and suggest plant points for the good gut. She says the only way you get protein is meat, but this nutritionist supporting what a gut Docter says. She asks to go for whole grain where you get more fiber plus protein by taking 3 grains and 3 pulses. If somebody takes a cup of Rajma definitely cannot take more rice because of fiber. Then itself the calories count is down. If if we can follow what she exactly says the whole grain, rather white rice everything will fall in place -the count on protein ,fiber, (fats seeds and nuts) and fruits and vegetables. Thankyou for getting such kind of people who can explain very well. Common man can easily understand your podcasts.

Dr Pal, first a big thank you to you, for bringing Roshniji on this podcast.. And as always listening attentively, asking the right questions and never ever trying to over shadow your guest...Roshni ji has a very very simple mantra of 'plant based whole foods'. .. Every single influencer talks about protein as if it is the only food group... And talks about ingesting protein powder as if it is candy( I would say candy is safer) in the comments of one such influencer, one lady had a question whether protein powder is okay for her 6 and 10 year old daughters.. It is frightening how an entire generation is carried away and brain washed by this 'protein deficiency' idea. I love you Maam for your very balanced view on protein intake.. ❤❤ seem to be the only sane voice around.. Look forward to seeing more of your content online

I am gonna share some steps which I personally feel will work.
      1. Exercise - Start with atleast 5k steps per day to 10k, If feasible Strength training is higly recommended.
      2. Limit Junk foods/ Oil Foods/ Sugary foods/ Empty Calorie foods
      3. Eat High Fibrous foods - Fruits(1-2 Perday) and Vegetables
      4. Plan meals accordingly how Dr Pal Advices, as per circadium rhythm
      5. Start with atleast 1g of protein per 1kg of body weight and as you progress slowly increase
      6. Try to Limit Carbs - Simple carbs (White Rice and refined grains)
      7. Eat healthy fats (Seeds Nuts etc)
I think the diet part you gotta make it a lifestyle change rather than dieting for 3months and losing weight and then falling off the wagon and regaining weight.
All the very best. I hopt this is a bit helpful.

It is a very good discussion. But Krish Ashok, in his interview with you, he said all the lentils and pulses are carbohydrates only....they have traces of protein. But she says they are a good source of protein.... however, planning to include dals in each meal. In one discussion, Ramya said any sweet including sweets needs to be included in less number. But she said fruits are very good to include before each meal.

Very informative. However, eating grains and pulses tends to spike the blood sugar, especially when you are type 2 diabetic. Can we still follow this?

The information is excellent and highly informative. However, it can be overwhelming for the average person to absorb and implement. A summary on a board, along with real food examples, would be really helpful.

Thank you for such an informative podcast. Loved it! Three points I learned from today's podcast: 1) More soyabeans, less soyachunks which is unfortunately a lot more common amongst Indian population. 2) First time I heard about gut microbiome transplantation surgery and how it can impact the recepient cravings 3) Unsalted, unroasted nuts are more nutritious than the roasted, salted ones.
