Dude you reduced hours of work and at least an hour of the normal youtube instruction + youtube banter to just the instruction and all the video needed. Well done sir!
I love how they get straight to the point and don't waste your time talking about stupid shut before showing you ... thanks guys great video ... your officially the first RUclips channel I have subscribed to
This DIY is very well done. While I'll probably buy silencers, the DIY has given me several ideas on how to improve the store bought. Also, way to wield the angle grinder!
Very well done. what you built is on par with a on the shelf muffler. i really expected this to be a "youtube" hack job, but i was happily mistaken. For folks saying "put a muffler on" this is better then cutting apart your existing exhaust, and it's removable for the track. WOT won't sound much different, but low rpms/idle, you need that a little quieter for the sake of law enforcement. Great job once again!
Quality content here. 100% straight to the point, very very very educational and informative. Thank you SO much for not babbling on and on about random shit like so many other youtubes. Great job on the silencers, you sounds like you know EXACTLY what you're doing and talking about. 🤘
Good job! worth liking the video and subscribing to your channel. It's not even perfectly to silence the sound but it reduces the decibels somehow. I need something like this in the Philippines my neighbors hated me every time I start my car especially cold start.
@@brettm3261 I think he’s referring to duct strapping like they come in a roll usually HVAC guys will use them it’s metal strap with pre Drilles holes in them the company that makes it is DAHL.
My car have a 1"5 inch straight pipe and because of that gets the "trumpet effect" and at certain rpm the car is loud as fuk. And to get through inspection it needs to be quieter at those rpm. I will definitely do this. and when it have passed the inspection I will gladly remove it again😌
You have the right idea, and I would if I could. I don't own any metal hole saws, only a few for wood and soft materials. Hole saws for fabrication are definitely on the list though 👍
Did this help with highway drone? If you had any drone before, that is... I've got a fairly conservative system, with reasonable loudness, EXCEPT for a drone right in the RPM range for highway driving. The drone disappears around 87mph (140kmh)... But not looking to get tickets
@@kapoof2 What if i have factory helmholtz resonator before custom straight through muffler? Then i guess a little bit of restriction to aftermarket straight through muffler (compared to stock chamber muffler) will do a job of filling resonator better with exhaust gasses thus reducing drone at least a bit? I know its not perfect (overall exhaust tubing lenght and/or overall capacity) but need quick cheap fix to a wrong muffler decision i made recently.
The muffler doesn't have to be CARB approved, nothing past the catalytic converter matters for emissions. Besides, that engine is running so dirty it would get a fail just by driving past a smog machine.
CARB only relates to Fuel, Intake, headers and Cats. Noise compliance laws are only in your local laws in California and other CARB compliant states. Also if its off-road/track only there is no restrictions on mods.
the design is not that great ... i wouldn't do a middle empty pipe, but try close the middle hole and make it small just enough so air flows saying around half a inch diameter, and the rest of muffler exhaust should be on the sides through the meshes ... also in middle of the pipe you need to have a pattern grid much like a bee hive hexagonal shapes or similar grid and tilted at 35 degrees to stop the sound even more while still allowing for exhaust to go out. that shit will go silent dramatically .... probably up to 20% the sound we hearing now. im actually planning on making a muffler silencer for my chainsaw soon.
Well I appreciate the input. I'm planning on doing a better version eventually but I imagine a lot of my build will be changing once I have the resources to do it 👍

lol is there a difference? Sounds just as loud and as sick "silenced"
not enough restriction

Hey I didn't know Linus tech tips son made car video!
Touché
For real
Looool oof 🤧
Sounds awsome either way
👍 thank you man
Lol my mechanic told me to get a silencer for my forester that’s why I’m here 😅😅
Glad I live in Fl! as loud as we want!

Karen called the police 5 times on me tonight. I wasn't even at work tonight so here I am trying to keep my job
I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I do have to question how they survive in adulthood. Everyone will eventually hate you.
I just stuffed them full of steel wool and held it in with All-Round 👍
I did the same thing to my scooter. It saves more time and money. 💙👌
Wes James what type of car do you have
Hey Wes, what is "All-Around"? Haven't heard of that before.

Amazing talent

Hey, your oil burning could be as simple as a blown pcv valve.
This is so useful. Thanks for the video
Very well done video bro

@@fulltiltdrift You can use any tool steel bit on steel or any softer metal. Just take it slow and use oil if necessary.
That's probably killed about 5-15hp and played havoc with the afr's
Only 5-15 HP???
Much appreciated!!
You can also just like...put a muffler on...
Not ganna argue that
Sounds better with baffles
Eso tiene un swap de motor de tractor verdad?
Very nice video
I appreciate the support Ussop
If no duct-tape is used, then I can't approve of the project. Sorry!
It didn’t change
Why does everyone ls swap 240s.. what happened to putting sr20s or rb26detts in.
Idk, but this isn't an LS. Its a carbureted 5.0 foxbody mustang engine 👍
400hp in a LS is cheaper than 400hp in a SR or RB
Has anyone ever tested this silencer and found out how HP is lost? Thank you!
I lost approximately 0 of my 140hp according to butt dyno 👍

Look into a heimholtz resonater, if you can get someone to make one for you (Has to be custom made), that is guarunteed to eliminate drone.

Pretty much just showed us how to make a homemade muffler
Does this increase back pressure?
More than likely, but i havnt noticed any change
Pls be my man ♥️
Alright which one of my friends found my video? Lol
Thank u
Thanks for posting
He measures a round pipe twice lol
Do u have a resonator?
dont u still get a ticket it has to have the CArb sticker for the exhaust to be legal
This is a custom fabricated exhaust on an engine swapped drift car. This was more meant to keep me from getting pulled over than for an inspection.
jose palacios you don't get tickets for catbacks

They are homemade glasspacks
Yeah but your trapping a lot of the exhaust fumes
Didn’t it put pressure or any damage on engine
There's no way this will damage the engine
seems the same to me
Not to me
Right...what a waste of time
Nah, it is a lot quieter
tenes que callarte y dejar que suene el auto
I can't tell the difference.

just buy it. only 10bucks on ebay..
Does this mess w back pressure effecting fuel efficiency?
Unless you have two stroke no. Four stroke engines aren't meant to require back pressure.

what a waste of time for audibly no result whatsoever
Lol yeah there's maybe a 5% difference. If you want a quieter exhaust add more mufflers.
Just buy one at this point
😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
Also noisy 🙄
Sounds the same
California sucks! Impressive work and video though!
Sick s14 btw 😎🤙🏼
