In 2000 I was 18 yrs old and was at the Roskilde Festival. That year 9 people were crushed to death in the crowd during a Pearl Jam concert... It changed my life. I still remember the band crying and pleading for fans to move back and make room...
We all cried for days after that and so many people left for home... those of us who stayed were never really the same I think. The fragillity of life was smacked in our faces in the middle of an extatic high.... and we couldn't ignore the fact that we had been a guilty part of what happened...
We stayed out of respect for the dead vowing to carry the torch in their memory and to never let this happen again...
It was the second time I was at the festival... and I have been coming back ever since, something keeps pulling me back and every year I visit the memorial site on the festival grounds with a knot in my throat...
Covid has been the only reason for me missing a week at the festival since then. It felt so weird sitting at home...

All three died after the shoe at the hospital of “injuries sustained”… but one person was “technically” unrelated. He jumped over the side of spiral ramp in the lobby (10-12 drop) and landed on his head.
The concert was at the Salt Palace arena since demolished and is now a “convention center”.

The reason Malcolm Young dementia was made public which the band/family kept private for as long as they did was because a newspaper in Sydney ran a front page story outing him with his care person. I was home in Sydney at the time and was totally disgusted that they would basically force the family to confirm it and denying Malcolm the dignity to enjoy his privacy. Angus said later the hardest part for Malcolm initially when he started showing signs of dementia was he couldn't remember the lyrics to ACDC songs

I think rock bands tend to have more tragic or interesting stories, because they tend to be living fast, raucous lives. The young lives of their childhood is often beset by the tragedies of divorce, poverty, or abuse. This probably gives them the grit in their music. You add young success, fast cash and tge drugs that often come with it, and all sorts of things happen. Accidents, injuries and arrests are common features of rock star lives.

46 years as of 2021 to be exact. In that time span...basically 3/4 of a normal human life expectancy, there's going to be some attrition. The music industry/lifestyle will eat you alive if you let it. Regardless of what genre of music, there's excesses that normal people don't get to experience, money, fortune, fame ALWAYS comes with a high price tag. Lot's of musicians spend their lives and careers living on the edge......sadly, some fall off the edge, and at the height of their popularity. The wild life takes a toll, and sadly.... some people pay with their lives. So many great musicians from ALL genres of music have been lost to the excesses of hard partying, drinking, drugging, and thugging in one way or another. Or many combinations thereof. There's also been many who were lost in tragic accidents, not of their own doing as well.
AC/DC are one of the greatest Rock And Roll bands of all time....and it's truly amazing, especially after all they've been through as a band, that almost a half century later.....they're still chugging right on along and tearing the roof off of every venue that they play. They're LEGENDS....plain and simple. They can still BRING IT live almost 50 years later.....and that's saying something.
BTW.....I get how you could get Angus and Brian confused. Angus is the lead guitarist, and Brian is the singer..........But Angus is DEFINITELY A CO-FRONTMAN alongside of Brian and captures your attention throughout their whole performance. He's all over the stage, and never stops moving while playing. So being a Rap fan who is unfamiliar with the rock genre, I get how you could confuse the two names.
As always...Peace and Love from Baltimore, Md. U.S.A.

A lot of these rockers spent 8-10 months out of the year constantly going from one show to the next. It is grueling. Thus the alcohol and drugs.

Hi from the Uk, I’ve been an AC/DC fan for 40 yrs, started listening to them when I was 12, I love all rock music but then I like all types of music, if you wanna listen to something that might surprise you check out Gary Numan R.I.P. it’s epic but then I love all numans stuff, he’s so diverse with his music and was big in the late 70s n 80s with electro music, try it n hopefully you will enjoy, all the best Steve

Rock stars ARE a different breed, that's for sure. Many of them kinda bring it on themselves (heroin never did anybody any good man!) or the life they lead brings it on them (most of the ones who drink, do it to cope with either the fame or the schedule). Add the fact that AC/DC and a few others entered the FIFTH decade of their presence on the very front of the rock stage and you can see why most of them are facing huge health problems.
You have reacted to and are aware of the group called Iron Maiden. Like AC/DC, they too are around since the late 70s, being on top of their music genre for over 40 years (how many in this comments' list has LIVED as much? I'd guess less than half!). Unlike AC/DC, Iron Maiden never had to mourn the loss of an icon right at the moment when they were making it BIG, all their personnel changes were "calculated" moves or departures due to musical or other differences, so no drama of that sort. Add the fact that most of them take good care of themselves and you can see how they stay "afloat" in their mid-60s and still tour and make new music. I hope that the musicians who shaped my younger years are all fine and well and are active as much as they want to be. We've lost too many in the past 5-6 years, we need a "break" and we need a few more of our icons to be around a bit longer!
P.S. Not sure if you are coming back to a more active presence here, it's been around 3 months with no new videos, but I am still going to leave this here, just in case. When you come back, you should react to some "late greats", people you will not see live since they are dead already but were great while around. People like David Bowie (if you have seen the Martian, with Matt Damon, you have heard Starman, one of his greatest hits from 50 years ago! And there are many more!) or Lemmy, of Motorhead (Ace of Spades is a good place to start and Another Perfect Day a good place to finish!).

They missed this BIG ONE Phil Rudd On 6 November 2014 Rudd was arrested and charged with attempting to procure a murder, threatening to kill, possession of methamphetamine and possession of cannabis, following a police raid on his home. The charge of attempting to procure a murder was withdrawn the following day] On 21 April 2015 he pleaded guilty to the remaining charges, with the exception of one of the two threatening to kill charges, which was dropped

They left out the Drummer Phil Rudd's self inflicted problems with the law! LOL
Anyways, You have done a good bit of AC/DC songs on your channel, it was how I found you originally, but most of it is stuff done live with Brian Johnson on vocals. You should find a song with Bon Scott on vocals sometime, Ride On or Night Prowler, or The Jack, maybe the studio versions so you know you got the right singer. No cap!

The sad reality is that most of these rockers , on the outside looking in ,seemed to have it all, they seem happy and all of these things, but they are searching for some thing to fill the emptiness inside and they’re looking in the wrong places, and they are some of the loneliest people out there, celebrities as well, but for the most part, it’s musicians, there are so so many of them that died of alcohol and drugs whether it was accidental or intentional or whether it was a “suicide”, who really knows the truth, but the reality is, deep inside they are miserable and empty and unfortunately I don’t think many of them find what it really is that they’re truly looking for and what it is if they truly need and long for

Brian is great but he's not Bon Scott, sadly bon Scott died before they blew up with highway to hell which was the last record he did before he died.

Edit: wow they didn’t talk about phill Rudd’s murder. Drummer Phil Rudd tried morder someone (very distinct story). He’s been free for a couple years now and ac dc recorded their latest album shot in the dark as a good bye for Malcolm.

Pretty much all of the big hair rock bands went through drug and alcohol problems and bus wrecks and plane crashes. So many artists have died in small airplanes. Even Lisa Lopez from TLC died in a car crash. All the good ones die young. Nerds live to 100.

Another tragedy linked to them and another song for you relates to serial killer Richard Ramirez who wore an AC/DC logo baseball cap and was called the "Night Stalker" because of AC/DC's song "Night Prowler" (the song somewhat mimics his MO). The media linked the band to him and to the so called "satanic panic" of the 1980's. They had that controversy with which to cope, also. "Night Prowler" was sung by the first lead singer Bon Scott. It is one song of which I am not a fan.
