Many thanks for the video "game changer". Yes, I confirmed using this Oregon Mulching blade and it is a very effective blade with that brambles, and also used it on thick cogon grass and it's great.
great bit of kit.
I watched this video on the Oregon mulching blade, I had a similar area of even taller brambles to clear so I got a blade from amazon, it really is as good as the video shows. A big thank you for the demo
your welcome, I have another video clearing a monster of a job, I really wished I had that blade then.
I concur. Excellent blade. I've used one for the past several years and won't use another.
just bought it, i will try it, i think it will be good for some jobs
I have used this blade on on a F S13O for a couple of years, great for breaking down thorn hedges etc. It will be going on a FS 260 shortly. Easy to sharpen like a lawn mower blade. Good video and product description
to be honest I never sharpen, for what I need it for,
Between those shredder blades and the aire cut blades you can't go wrong.... I personally use the aire cut blades for jobs like this one on either my 130r, 250r or 240r.... Great vid dude .....
What is an aire cut blade?
@@agentbertram4769 it's a triblade but unlike stihls three prong blade which is straight and flat the aire cut blade has a twist in the blade to help throw the clippings....
The airfoil twist as the makers call it makes moving the clippings away from your body extremely easy and you and go up and down with it to mulch aswel....
I got the Stihl version on my fs450, what a great tool, got brambles from 7ft tall down to the ground, good video bud
After watching this vid. I had an open mind on these types of blades but I purchased an Oregon blade from Fleabay for just under £13 delivered free. Well I can tell you this blade made mincemeat of the job I had to do. 1/3+ of an acre of heavy brambles some 1/2" thick, 6' high along with some branches around 1" or more using a Stihl 240. Honestly I can say this blade took me a good 1/3rd of the expected time. You do need to keep an eye open for stones as obviously hitting one not only make it fly like a bullet, but dulls the blade and needing re sharpening, easily done with a few strokes of a file. 4mm thick and very heavy. A good bit of kit for either the experienced or the home owner. A well presented vid to watch. You were well advised to purchase this product.
They are excellent, I use it on a Husqvarna 535LK pro combi and with 2.2 HP it has no problem going through the biggest brambles with ease! Found the two blade more effective than the three blade but they are well worth the money!
thanx for watching, I always wondered about the three blade version
@@TKG, probably great on a high end brush cutter or clearing saw! With what I do, justify £1000 + on one is hard to do as I'd more than likely use it twice a year!
Fantastic job. I bought a blade that has the same shape as that yours in a local shop (cost me 7.80 Euros, so I guess it might be plain steel - not a fancy "super-hard-rigid" alloy) but the result was quite similar to what you've got there.
Greetings from Portugal.
Hi thank you for watching, from across the pond
I bought one and it works just fine on woody scrub. I have a tri blade as well but haven't tried it yet.
Exactly what I was looking for, thank you 👍
Great video and demonstration. Thank you!!
Excellent blade for all the scrub brush, mulches it to bits, then just maintain with a 0.95 or .105 line, the two blade will be better suited for lower cc machines where as the 3blade would be better suited for a 35cc and above👍🏻
yeah if you have a dedicated brush cutter, with more power and anti vibration, I guess a tri blade would be beneficial.
I love that Clair de lune background music
I use one of these mulching blades, too, Fantastic ....
yup
good advice and great music. im guessing its good because it doesn't jarr
The difference between these and flat blades for bramble is night and day!
I had a small wood full of bramble to clear, this blade changed everything!
certainly does. I think stihl do one, but for the price I don't think stihl can compete, I might try and do a comparison some time
50 seconds 😂 I have one of them blades for my big Stihl fs450, it does make short work of jobs like this, I’ve cleared quite a lot of brambles with mine over the years. Good video👍
It was a game changer for me, I wished I had known about these on the other job (monster job) it would have gone quicker and better.
Thanx for watching
That is also me cutting trees at the golf course in Carlshamn every day during the winter season. ;-
Greetings from: SWE 🇸🇪
Thanks for the video demonstration. Ended up ordering a similar mulching blade. Using on a Husqvarna 324L.
It works well; though people should be aware that sometimes branches will get fast-balled in their direction and sometimes it hurts like hell when you get hit. Still, it demolishes blackberry bushes so efficiently I don't mind that part one bit. Just something to keep in mind.
always a good idea to wear protective trousers when cutting heavy brush
Just what I need, ordered one today. Thanks, subscribed!
A closeup of the blade would have been nice....right at the end where you walk towards the camera and I thought you were going to show it, no, the special effects cut in....
but aside form that, what is it about us guys that makes vids where you touch something and it gets MULCHED so satisfying?? lol
I just got my first gas-powered weed/brush-eater. A friend bought it new, couldn't get it started, gave up and put it on a shelf for two years. Handed it to me the other day for free. I got it running and put a better blade (just a standard tapered rectangle) on it to tackle the 4foot-high tough grass across the road. Great working blade. Glad to watch vids like this and learn about other options for future. Great work, and interesting vid! Thanks for sharing! Cheers!!
ruclips.net/video/jl2SbUeWxHs/видео.html
My latest videos about this allotment shows the blade up close and gives a bit more details.
Thanks for watching
Amazing video sir thank you for making this.. watching from Philippines
Going to try one off these blades out. Got the same kind of job coming up 👍🏼
It wont disappoint.
better going over it with an old mower afterward or gather and burn (very quick and als a great weed killer, as you need very strong weed killer for brambles)
Most excellent !!
That looks like a really good job.
thanx
A tri blade was not designed for brush. It's ment to be used for tick/ stubborn grass
That looks a super job, great video
Oh Yeah..these weapons are Beast
definatly
Impressive. Good demo
Looks a great bit of kit mate.
You make my day
thanx
I’ve done plenty of over grown brambles myself I got the Hyundai 55 cc brush cutter strimmer
Youve alreasy said in a previous post ....
Taff
That's great, just ordered mine 👍
brilliant aren't they, glad you like it, shout out to nigel pinfield for putting it up first for me to see it
ok thanx for watching
Just FYI, there's a couple reasons why I don't even consider stihl OPE: 1) value- much better available as a rule, 2) dealer network- robber-barons near me in NE US. (Start edit) Sorry. I should've mentioned also that both the 2- and 3-lobe Oregon blades I use were quite "buzzy" in rpm ranges. Careful static balancing, and they both run smooth as silk. IMO 25 and 27 cc Husqvarna/Tanaka brushcutters work fine with these blades, swung side to side in steps downward.
this mulching blade I think will fit most brands
@@TKG I use a variety of blades on Echo, Husqy, Tanaka bruscutters (solid splined shafts on all, of course) with one of these blades arriving tomorrow.
I have the same blade run off a Stihl FS400. They are good blades but the problem i have is that when i hit something big the aluminium adapter ring jumps and the blade goes off centre giving a massive amount of vibration. if they could make a dedicated Stihl one it would be excellent.
Maybe you know somebody with a turning laith to make an adapter... .
Great job
Top video mate 👍🏻
There’s another blade you could use it’s got three blades .a welsh bloke in the uk used it he recons it’s better
I need a blade to mulch a thick bed of leaves in my forest paths. I don’t mind a mulched debris being left behind but not the tick layer of oak leaves. Will this blade do the job?
not sure, I doubt it, the blade is bulky and would need to be more contained, I use a mower on leaves
I use that blade, agree with you, brilliant 👍
thanx for watching, yep there good
Thanks Reas for spending even more of my money 😂 fantastic vid sir
?
I've just been onto amazon and purchased one
that's not spending money that's SAVING!!! you wont regret it
Nice job
They must have had a sale on safety equipment. I couldn't wear all that here in south Louisiana I'd be dead in a hour of heat stroke. But safety sam would be proud of you.
This is on a railway and its a must to wear ppe. There are a lot of rules that must be followed
Would this work safely with a 52 cc Aosome multi tool strimmer? At 4 mm thick steel that is going to be one heavy blade. Are special adapters needed to mount such a heavy duty blade to the cutter head?
it is highly recommended to use a dedicated brush cutter
Dem Getriebe zur Liebe sollte man an den kleinen Maschinen eigentlich kein Häckselmesser nutzen, von der Motorleistung mal ganz abgesehen.
Excuse me for asking a silly question, can it be used on 4' tall Grasses
woody grass yes maybe
Great video.thanks to Paul goodchild for 👈ng me know about this gem.
That's awesome I purchased the same blade did you sharpen it before using it ?
to be honest it doesn't really need to be that's sharp, the idea of the blade is to obliterate brush, a sharp blade wont stay sharp fro long, with the kind of work I do.
yes lad nice job ther 👍🏻
thanx for watching
I'm about to do a field like that, is this what you recommend still?
defiantly, search oragon mulching blade on youtube, there are plenty out there who say the same thing, 4 years on and still using this blade
RJC-Services would you say the fs240 would cope with 2 acres of reeds sedge like grass stuff, brambles exactly like this video and tough tussocks of grass or would it be better to go up in level to the fs 410. Cheers in advance.
I used an fs100 so if that can handle the brambles I am sure a 240 would. But I am not an expert on the subject
@@TKG thanks so much for the quick reply.
Hi Mate,
Have you tried the oregon tri blade mulcher?
no, I think you would need a much more [powerful machine to use one.
more oragon grass cutter
Try the “Cane Slayer Brush Cutter” as seen on Amazon⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ even faster!
looks very dangerous to be honest, I cant see it being any better that the mulching blade,
Hello,
Is there a specific size CC trimmer that works best with these?
Thanks!
the kombi motor is a 36.3 cc I wouldn't go any lower than this, its preferable to go for a dedicated brush cutter as these will have a lot of vibration reduction. using this with the kombi you can defiantly hear the blade spin up.
@@TKG Thanks!
Have you had any trouble with your trimmer after running these? It seems like you have to run them pretty hard to get through the brambles.
@@TKG Have you had any trouble with your Oregon blade coming loose?
I owe you a GIANT THANK YOU for sharing this tool. It has made dealing with brush SOO much easier. I will never be without this again.
Thanks again!!
@@TKG did you install this blade with the STIHL blade mounting hardware?
@@austinmccutcheon3270 I used the standard kit, but make sure its tight
I've bought it recently but it apperas quite blunt. Do I need to sharpen it before first use?
nop, in fact the one I am using is very battered and still does the job well, remember this tool is for mulching (obliterating) so wont leave a nice clean finish
hi the 3 blade mulching tool is evan better than the 2 blade ok
might try it, sorry for the late reply
What's it like on heavy grass and blackberry.
not good on heavy grass, brambles/blackberries, is what this was made for
@The kilted gardener! Roger. The track I'm cutting is a meter high thick grass with old dead matting at the bottom.. i have to cut about 4km of it at 2m wide and the line is breaking evey few meters. I'm having to use an up and down motion same as you would with this blade before I can sweep side to side to finish it. I'll have to find another solution. 🤔
@@geraldbmullen4386 they are not that expensive, you could try one, but I have tried it on deep grass and it didn't do very well
@The kilted gardener! thank. you, really appreciate the advice. 👍
Try Listening to Isla Tomita Debussy???
they make 3 sided one too
I know, now, but didn't know at the time. I didn't buy this the guy I work for at the depot buys all tools and materials. Thanx for watching
I have a sthil kombi 131 would this blade be suitable for use on the brush cutter attachment any idea cheers
It should be OK, better to use a dedicated brush cutter as they are designed for minimum vibration, as long as its the 131 and not 131r. you need the handlebars not D handle. Hope thishelps
@@TKG cheers thanks for that
Did you had the handle bar to the 100? I wish mine had it.
yes
Do u have to have a separate strummer that has a blade or can u fit the mulching blade on a regular wire strummer? good video 👍
attach to regular strimmer. using the kombi attachment, which I would assume would be the same for a strimmer, but needs to be a powerful motor.
I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.
Isnt that heavy ?? 4mm thick blade ??
it is and probably just on the limit for this machine
Cane Slayer Brush Cutter on Amazon twice as fast as this!!!
not in this country, looks leathal
Is that one better than the triple bladed one?
sorry I wouldnt know, never used the triple blade one
We're not allowed to use them on the railway, can't use anything other than plastic for brush cutting. That would have been a hedge trimmer job for me.
do you work main line?
@@TKG at weekends yes
oh right, cool, who was your sponsor I am looking at getting a full pts, the guy i work with used to work for intertrain as an instructor, he said try infrastructure works, but I can’t find any info.
It's a company called ropetech access solutions. I just do arb and de-vegetation works.
d-veg is what I am interested in, without the climbing of trees, will look into it thanx.
I have 5 acres that look like this. Should I buy this or rent a bulldozer for $600. I have plenty of time right now, just afraid this will take me a year lol
I would love to know how you got on, sorry for the late reply
anyone have a north american link to where I can purchase this blade?
I get mine from amazon, sorry for the late reply
Oregon Mulching blade not Oragon
oops
मशीन कहा मिलेगी
वीरांगना Hope the translation works right, I got it from Amazon
I believe an advertising brand for a completely different blade used your video clip unauthorized without your permission. I have a screen recording of their ad. I don't know how to send it to you though.
send it to Reas j conner on facebook messenger if you like. would be very interested in this
@@TKG ok I'll try to find it
@@TKG they did it with another RUclips content creator AND Forrester.
for most heavy duty jobs.. try using a BrushDestructor BrushCutter-Blade.
