    The controversy in a nutshell:
    - A celebrity made a personal opinion public.
    - Ideologues on the opposite side of that opinion felt guilty for enjoying the product franchise.
    - Extremists harassed and condemned anybody who didn't also feel guilty or directly consumed the product, which itself was ideologically distant from celebrity.
    - Product benefitted from the Streisand Effect, was still hugely successful and celebrity still profited.
I appreciate the work you put into your vids.

That's a pretty biased take. If you were paying attention most people were just trying to raise awareness. That might have caused a Streisand effect but I think that's a bit reductive. People bought the game to show solidarity with Rowling and/or as a fuck you to people who were just trying to raise awareness. That's a bit different, though similar, to the Streisand effect. It was also clear there was a concerted effort to lump the majority who were just trying to raise awareness with the bad actors who went to far, when the former condemned the latter. The fact you don't know this shows what echo chamber you've been in.
Also framing hatred of trans people as a "personal opinion" is a dog whistle at minimum and at worst it's an intentionally gross misrepresentation. And it tells me all I need to know about your stance on trans rights.

Binging all your content. Can’t believe you don’t have more subs. You remind me of MontyZander and not just the accent (I think he might be Australian actually but to a dumb American like me y’all sound the same 😂)

I like this video, but I think within it is just a very weak and shaky argument. In my view, the argument that Hasan or other streamers could have played Hogwarts Legacy to raise money for LGBTQIA+ charities and get more out of the increased viewer base is quite bad. The idea that they in any way had to play the game is just ludicrous to me. For Hasan specifically, his viewer base is already huge and he probably could have leveraged the release of Hogwarts Legacy to raise more money than usual. In fact, he could have raised money for an entire week (he already has enough money to completely forgo donations and subs in this time) playing other games made by LGBTQIA+ creators. For other creators, would most of them get a real increase in viewership due to Hogwarts Legacy? I am unsure that they would. Maybe some more middle of the road creators would see a small bump but I sill ask, why could they not just play another game? A middle tier creator can still get some decent donations without resorting to playing the game. For small creators there is almost no excuse, they are in all likely hood not going to see an increase in viewership in this game and they are not going to raise an appreciable amount more for charity due to playing the game.

It's been a while since I looked into it, but I think the argument about streaming Hogwarts to raise awareness might have come from Hasan? (I might be wrong on that though, it has been a while), thinking that if you got a couple people who wouldn't normally watch his stream coming in and then using that as an opportunity to raise some money for the Trevor project. I can definitely see the logic there, but it is hard to say how many new viewers he would have attracted. It was a massive game over March though. I do agree though that the option was definitely there to just choose another game to help fundraise, but in Hasan's defence, I believe there was an earthquake in Syria a couple days after that he ended up fundraising for but hopefully he will try again in future. June would be perfect as well, given it's pride month it would be a great opportunity to do a fundraiser and to help raise awareness

I mean, look at it, it's freaking gorgeous! JK Rowling could kill new born pandas, I would still want to play this game. Your best boycott option is probably to endorse piracy

I'm trans myself, and when I started hearing things like "don't buy hogwarts legacy because it supports transphobic people" I got really confused. This video gave me a much better view on the topic, and is top quality. You didn't waste 48 minutes and 28 seconds of my day, and you deserve thousands more subs.

At first I was kinda like: Bruh - this game is kinda expensive, I'ma wait for a steam sale or a crack to release soon.
But as soon, as I heard of the controversy, I instantly changed my mind and preordered the deluxe edition within seconds later. 👍👍👍
Its a great game. I highly recommend.
