  • Portable Black and White Analog TV - Analog Television B&W TV
A portable black-and-white analog television I picked up from the local thrift store. It came with an AC adapter, a DC plug for the car, as well as a coaxial cable to ⅛” antenna plug. You can connect any RF-modulated device to it, or use an external RF modulator to connect a DVD player or other RCA-output devices to this relic from a (not-so) distant era of TV. Those TVs are easy to find,
I bought one from my local thrift store for 8 dollars. It works but the tuning dial is a little messed up, but it still works.

If anyone is tech savvy, you can clip pin 5 of the TV chip and solder a wire in its place ON THE BOARD (not on the chip itself! You are tapping into the video in. Find a suitable ground and possibly a cap between video and ground and bam! Composite in!!

I have one also but labeled under a different brand. It was new in the mid 00s, still have it today but the sound no longer works. The cheap speaker started going years ago even before analog TV did. Unfortunately the headphone jack is also affected.

    • @ronb6182

The picture in the video looks good. There are no analog signals in the USA so what's the point of quality? You have a direct connection that's why the picture is sharp. Good enough to watch a VHS video. Black and white pictures are easier on the eyes for diabetes that are losing their sight. I should have bought Mom an 18 inch black and white TV instead of that RCA color set which I over paid for. The set had issues the day I bought it. I had to repair it after the dealer didn't know how to solder. I bought the parts at radio shack. 73
