    On August 21, 2022, a 26-year-old man lead law enforcement on a 28-mile-long chase across Fond du Lac County in Wisconsin. Several tire deflation devices were deployed but were ineffective. The suspect driver displayed very erratic driving behavior throughout the pursuit and reached speeds of 130 mph. Eventually, they began driving into oncoming traffic nearly striking multiple vehicles head-on.
    The purpose of the featured content is to show the law enforcement interaction. It is NOT to publicly shame, ridicule, or degrade the individuals involved. Today’s world is swarmed with politics and conversations that are often misleading about our law enforcement officers. We feel it is vastly significant and imperative to show these interactions in their respective environments to inform and educate the overall public.

      Its not THAT bad. I once was driving near Bellingham Wa when 4 high school chearleaders came around a curve in my lane, over the double yellow line, tryng to pass a line of dump trucks over 60mph each. As we passed each other, only INCHES apart, the rear passengers were crawling over their seats to take the wheel. The driver was frozen shitless, white knuckle clutching the wheel going straight. Time slowed down for those passengers who were screaming at the driver. They looked at me while I smiled back. They passed the dump trucks and returned to the right lane. Some departments will want the officer to collect the stop sticks immediately regardless of whether or not the deployment is successful. Others will allow the officer that deployed the sticks to continue the pursuit, but radio where they left the sticks so another officer can pick them up. Typically they'll throw them off to the side of the road or in the ditch and another nearby officer will get them. If an officer has a successful deployment, they'll usually stay behind and collect them as it's only a matter of time before the suspect's vehicle becomes completely disabled. If the deployment is unsuccessful, the officer may leave them for another to collect as they want to get back into the chase as quickly as possible.

      @@sjk160 not a bad thing. The driver was hesitating at times he shouldn't have been and kept asking the passenger clarifying questions about what he should do. The passenger even made sure to let him know when he was doing things right. It was more of a mentor-mentee situation. If the more experienced driver was driving, he might have deployed pitt maneuvers much sooner and prevented it from going this far, but both cops did exceptionally well under the circumstances. Yeah, it looks like they were chasing an M5....no wonder at 130mph, it was pulling away & the police's SUV had a hard time keeping up. Suspect thought he was joyriding the autobahn.
      Crazy thing is that at some point because of the high speed the police decided to stop pursuit...if that idiot stopped driving the wrong way and causing more people to continue to call the police detailing where he was....he might have gotten away with it.

    Suspect: “Is it going to be a high bond?”
    Police: “There’s a few changes here.”
    EXTREMELY professional police. They stayed calm and in control, supported each other, quickly made decisions about acceptable levels of risk and lowered the tension when interacting with the suspect by treating him with civility. This made me proud to be an American.

    • @lindadeeds5326
      @lindadeeds5326 Год назад +21

      I think many, if not most, fleeing drivers end up with very high adrenaline levels triggering the “fight or flight” response. In that mindset, they can’t think with the same logic that people normally are able to use. They are much more likely to take risks because they think that they have to in order to survive.
      This does not excuse the behavior one bit! But it does explain why suspects take risks that they might not normally do. The police were very well trained to make sure that this did not happen to them.
