Basically it's optically joint first along with the other 135mm f2 and f1.8 lenses mentioned, even wide open. There may possibly be a couple of alternative latest 135mm own brand af models for nikon or canon ff mirrorless for double the price new, but there's almost nothing in it unless pixel peeping to the nth degree. Yes wish it was 300 grams lighter, but I'd rather have the reassuring build. Also consider this. The focusing ring is directly mechanically coupled so if and when the focus motor dies it'll still be usable manually.
I have this lens and love it. All reviews of the Sigma Art lenses for video forget to mention the loud noise of the focus motor, which makes use of the internal camera microphone impossible. A long boom is necessary.
I used to have this lens on Nikon, i have to admit it is my favourite even to today & i have some awesome lenses. There is just something special about the classic portrait length of 135mm.
Hello Harv, greetings from Chile. I wanted to ask you about the focus ring on this lens. Is the focus response linear when manual focusing? And do you know the angle of focus throw of the focus ring?
I hope you guys find this helpful and interesting :)
Indeed! Always interesting to learn more about different lens and cameras.
People often comment on a lens but but the photographer also has a big part of it. Glad you had some sunshine too! Good stuff all around.

I use the Sigma Art 135 on my Fujifilm with the Fringer Pro ll AF adapter. Brutally sharp and AF is fast.
Literally just searched for this. Appreciate you!

On the Fujifilm, it is a 202.5 mm lens.
