Elvie visits a building site where a third Montana Cabin 18x24 has been assembled for this customer. The owner gives a tour of the first two cabins, built 2 years earlier, and a look at the new one.
Phillip just finished with the varnish application on the interior logs, ceiling and window trim and is now applying chinking between the log joints and seams.

I've vacationed near Sula, Montana with friends and family. We had the best time with riding, exploring and fly fishing. Beautiful cabins in a gorgeous setting.

IF people asking for a wall to the bedroom, in case one person wants to go to bed early and a bit of privacy or if someone comes by to pay a visit and need some morning privacy, a nice metal rail with a heavy curtain that could slide across the opening, I did that in an open suite and it worked great... Then it can be fully open to experience the more open roomy feel, or slide the curtain across for some privacy... Could be added at anytime in a matter of minutes by the owner...

I like that it is an open bedroom.I use a walker and with the pocket door and no walls it would be so easy to move around in. If I bought one for myself of course I would have a walk in shower instead of the tub but only because I can’t get in a tub.
They left it open for the eyes to follow around the cabin....
But keep in mind, it is a cabin!
Cabins don't generally have interior walls.. they were built for a place to eat and sleep....and stay warm!

It would be great if you had a directional mike to point at the person you're recording as your voice is too loud and theirs can hardly be heard. Just a thought. Otherwise excellent clarity and good content! Would like to know if you do custom ones. I would like one with a deeper porch front and extended roof over top. Also I would pass on the drywall and prefer a bathroom built off the back of the cabin with a smaller roof overhead. One last thing is, do you make a square or rectangular log model?

Great video and guided tour. Fantastic way to get your product out there. Consider using an external mic with your filming source. Whether it's a smart phone, GoPro, or DSLR. It'll pick up your vocals much easier. Keep up the great work.

induction cooktops induce a spinning magnetic field in the metal of the pot which causes heat, heating up the contents. The only downside is you can only use metal pots and pans, not pyrex or glass.
It heats the metal pan which heats the contents in the pan.

Maybe they don't have enough land to spread them out more....it's basically a log cabin motor court. I grew up in a log cabin in Michigan and those things get cold in the winter without insulated walls
Our Log Homes are different and are definitely not cold in the winter. They are chinked tight and the roof is very well insulated.
the pots and pans have to have the matching magnet looking thing for it to work.

I think I would build a cabin for laundry. Maybe 2 or 3 washers and dryers so visitors wouldn't handwash clothes and hang them on the porches to dry. That would look pretty tacky.

If those critics who don’t like a bedroom open to the rest of the mini cabin, the simple solution is to simply ADD A FREAKIN’ CURTAIN!
It’s a one room cabin. If you want a separated bedroom you need to build the cabin bigger.

Just the right size for 2 people. BUT is it cheaper or more expensive then staying in a hotel for a weekend or for a week long vacation.
You could tell she was promoting the cabin as a place to stay while Elvie was trying to show the build lol. I wouldn’t stay there because the cabins are too close together.
It will be even worse if she adds two more cabins, will be way crowded. It’s not a get away if you have people staying 10 feet away lol

Home is not bad, but what us up with the sound quality? You would think a company of this magnitude would check their sound quality with those they interviewed.
Hotel rooms are becoming less popular as alternative ways of lodging become available through AirBnB type renting platforms. Once a couple takes their first plunge of renting accommodations in this non traditional way there’s no turning back. My Wife and I know this through experience.

We know Lisa -- what is the chinking that you use and the stain that you use on your cabins?
We use a chinking called Conceal. The varnish is from Timber Pro Coatings called Crystal urethane. Both products are non-toxic and plant-based.
