003 Long before the Republic of Indonsia was founded in the 20th century, Malay civilization existed in the 5th century in Minanga and had spread beyond the territory of Indonsia. That's why there is rendang in Malaysia because there is the Minang kingdom in "Negri Sembilan", and many Malay kings outside Indonesia are descended from the Pagaruyung/Minang kingdom of West Sumatra, the Malay tribe is one of the subtribe of the Minangkabau tribe.
The Minang (Malay) people are the most influential tribe in Southeast Asia. The proof is:

- that's why he carried out 1001 tricks to further his ambitions, he tried to weaken the influence of other tribes in Indonsia (especially his hatred of the Malay civilization)
- Sikarno was jealous when he saw that the Malays had succeeded in establishing their own country in the land of their ancestors (Malaysia), he incited the Indonsian people to destroy Malaysia, because he had not achieved his wish to control the land of Malacca, Sikarno vented his frustration with the genocide of the Minang/Malay ethnic group in Central Sumatra on the grounds of the PRRI rebellion, even though that was just a complaint from the people because they were treated unfairly by Sikarno's system of government, centralizing the javq island focus only, Central Sumatra was broken up into smaller ones, an ignorant Javq person was made governor of that region, of course he was incompetent because he didn't understand the local culture.
- Even though previously Sikarno studied politics and religion from many Malay people, after independence he actually betrayed the genocide of the (Malay) heroes. Tan Malaka (father of the Republic of Indonsia) was killed by Sikarno's orders, because he was afraid that Indonsia's leadership would fall into the hands of Malay people, barbaric Javq.
Sikarno once said "a great nation is a nation that does not forget the services of its heroes and history." He himself and Harto were the ones who recorded the embarrassing history of "a great disgrace for Indonsia" (the enemy under cover).
- Holding office is incompetent, like a brat who doesn't know political etiquette/ethics, simply violates the applicable constitution, SHOULD after 2 terms (5 years, 2 terms) resign like M.Hatta and hold an election (how come he served 22 years and Harto served 32 year?), Sikarno abolished the 1945 law with the concept of "guided democracy", so that his dictatorship would be free, he dissolved the official legislative institution of the DPR, disbanded the cleric party (Masyumi), unilaterally created the 5th armed group from civilians/farmers/laborers as a competitor to national army which had not sided with Sikarno, the generals who had different opinions (witnesses to his rot) were killed in the lubang buaya (G30spk1),
- Siharto continued the dictatorship of Sikarno, with 1001 tricks to change the historical story through media and education, pitting people against each other into conflict so that the government had an excuse to genocide non-Javq ethnic groups under the guise of eradicating rebels.
- Indonsia is just as old as corn and is pretending to be colonizing other people's land (in the "Timor Gap" agreement, Siharto and Asutralia conspired to colonize/thief Greater Sunrice Timor Leste's oil).

As an Indonesian, I hope that the next president will also understand Indonesia's problems, especially the importance of dealing with economic and investment problems so that Indonesia does not get trapped to become a stuck and stagnant country like Latin American countries which were initially thought to be developed countries but ultimately became failed countries because their leaders did not understand the problems that must be faced.

People try to predict the economy not realizing it is not a capitalistic market, its a command economy, central planning! my concern is, instead of having much dollar in bank that could lose value to inflation, do I save in gold to reserve and grow wealth for now, or just hang on?
truth is that gold serves as an inflation hedge in the long run, but not profitable in the short run. only thing you can predict is a strong effort of wealth transfer from the people to the powerful. luckily some folks find solution in financial advisors

I've personally witness it's huge consumer market, but that's worth noting it's highly focussed on services. Which means that if it does attract foreign investment, they will need robust trade relationships within the next 10 years.
While yes they banned exports of raw materials to force more value-adding industries (genius), this too needs to be accompanied other parts of the supply chain or they won't escape the middle-income trap. Their lack of robust trade deregulations and the aforementioned point on consumer spending being so connected to services, is why they lack FDI.
While they need investment in infrastructure that they absolutely need and are doing- it MUST be accompanied by more education investment.
As I have again witnessed, this video did NOT emphasis the HUGE CORRUPTION issue in Indonesia. This has a huge chance of being their downfall. Remaining democratic, although they aren't the most democratic country but they are doing a reasonable job (I've high respect for their president), while fighting corruption is something I'm very interested to learn of any country doing.

I informally interviewed locals on their habits and their economy and country- purely because it's a passion of mine to learn about economics. So the source of this opinion is largely a mix of internet materials and "trust me bro" vibes but I do trust what I've learned first hand. Integrity is something that many Indonesians lack, and it adds to the communistic nature of our people, allowing corruption to prevail in Indonesian society. At some point, I genuinely believe that while Indonesia will enjoy its economic growth, our corruption perception index will remain stagnant. Or worse, going to a decline. I agree, but I have to add my five cents. Corruption is present in every country. Even in the most developed. Wich citizens like to blame developing countries as very corrupt. Of course, it's easier to do reforms in a 2 mil. community, then in 200 million. And the only sustainable way to eliminate corruption, from my perspective, is education.

I think a significant factor contributing to the corruption is the byzantine bureaucracy--it's not easy to see what needs to be done or finished when you're trying to achieve something. I've been in Indonesia for a notable amount of time, and even locals curse how Kafkaesque the bureaucracy could be. It's getting better, the digitization of various bureaucratic processes mentioned in the video did happen, but it has to be more thorough when it comes to ease of doing business. Otherwise, it will remain as one of the obstacles of foreign direct investment.

Indonesia has progressed the last 4 years. joko has made the country better than it was, starting to digitalize everything which has brought down corruption in most areas outside of jakarta. But in Bali the corruption is the worst because the jakarta government has no control over lawyers, notary, local government, PPAT etc money talks and is a cash economy which makes it hard for the government to track everything
