I think Omega gets the win, with the darker tone of green and white corras dial, it gives it a unique balance. I have a white dial smp 300 and in finding ways to justify getting the seaweed😅
I would have difficulties wearing the Rolex with such a bright green colour as it would stand out excessively whereas I much prefer discreet elegance. I also distance myself from hype hence I would go for the more discreet, muted and technically superior calibre of Omega.
I think the omega is better. But I'd only have it on rubber. I feel the the bracelet needs to be more like the speedmaster. The rubber has a great taper
I love the bracelet! Besides the fact that it is part of the watch's DNA, just like the waves on the dial and the helium valve, the strap looks fantastic! For me the shade of green used on the Hulk just seems like an odd colour to see on someone’s wrist, and would have looked better as a more subtle green.
I'm not a fan of the cyclops either. And the maxi case on the 116610 isn't nearly as elegant as previous Submariner models or the Seamaster for that matter. The shade of green on the Seamaster is a lot better looking than that of the Rolex, and the dial of the Seamaster is awesome. However, the bracelet of the Submariner is far superior, as is the clasp and the bezel. The Submariner is also less chunky than the Seamaster. At a little over 40mm in diameter and 12.5mm in height vs 42mm in diameter and 14mm in height. The Seamaster's HEV is a bit of an eyesore as well. In terms of dimensions and features, the Seamaster has more in common with the Sea-Dweller 43. 42 vs 43 mm in diameter. 14 vs 14.5mm in height. Both have fully graduated bezels. Both have a Helium Escape Valve. Except the Sea-Dweller has a depth rating of 1220m while the Seamaster only has a depth rating of 300m, but for all intents and purposes 300m is more than adequate for any diver. I'm also not a big fan of the Sea-Dweller 43 though. It still has that cyclops, and it's too big. My heart lies with the previous generation Sea-Dweller. The 116600. It has the same specs as the Sea-Dweller 43, but with a 40mm diameter, no cyclops, and without the maxi case of the ceramic Submariner. It only comes in black though, but that's just fine by me. The only thing though... It's 4x the price of the Seamaster.
Great video on comparing these 2 watches. While I was enjoying this video I looked at my BB58 blue on my wrist and I see a clear winner. It's the BB58 blue so I won't be acquiring either of these 2 watches. 😂
I really like the Seamaster. The only issue I have with Omegas is the bracelets, I just don't love them. I think Rolex bracelets are perfect. I need to try the Seamaster on again, if I can get used to that bracelet I could see myself picking one up eventually

I own the Green Seamaster so I do not like to be bias however the tone and shade of Omega is way more versatile and sleek. I find the Hulk green a bit tacky...
So happy to have them both the 2022 models, just both in black and Omega on rubber strap. But since I only have Rolex since yesterday, I can only compare three things. Omega is more comfortable (sure rubber). Dial in Omega is even better to look at with those waves. Turning the bezel is a bit easier on Roley Rolex feels maybe for a touch even better built. But all in all both best diver watches . My score 1:1....a and maybe one thing, the movement when listening close to ears on the wrist while turning your arm fast in way more loud on Rolex you dont hear nothing.
Own the Seaweed, as well as Rolex. Among the Pro Rolex, the only thing Rolex does better now than Omega, is the bracelet design. On every other aspect, the new SMP has Rolex over a barrel. Dial is better, hands are about the same, case finish and the movement is incomparable better. But to each he’s own I guess.
I love the bracelet! Besides the fact that it is part of the watch's DNA, just like the waves on the dial and the helium valve, the strap looks fantastic! It's not as boring as most, it's complex and intricately designed. The only suggestion I would have for the bracelet is that it should taper towards the clasp. Then it would be perfect!
At the design : omega At the movement: omega, due to display caseback and 15,000 anti-magnetic capability At the branding: undoubtedly rolex At the size and wearability: for me is omega At the elegant and eye-catching: rolex At the price point and availability to get one within reasonable period of time: definitely omega Conclusion: to me, omega seamaster wins
I have a Rolex Datejust with the Rhodium diamond dial and the SMP300. I selected the watches wisely to be not in the situation choosing between 2 sports models and ending by the Omega. Hands down, I like the Omega more than the sub, but Rolex has an amazing building quality. Yes better than Omega
I remember the first time I tried the Hulk and fell in loved with that green. Depending on the lighting it can be quite dark and in direct light it is so bright and vibrant. As much as I love the Omega I hate the bracelet. I would pick the Hulk for myself, I love it.
I love the bracelet! Besides the fact that it is part of the watch's DNA, just like the waves on the dial and the helium valve, the strap looks fantastic! It's not as boring as most, it's complex and intricately designed.
I was lucky enough to get a Hulk at retail ... I've had it for four years. It's a magical watch that flashes emerald in the right lighting. I can't ever imagine getting rid of it. I do like a bit of color in watch dials - the color inspires feeling / emotion. For that reason I cant see myself going with the muted omega Seamaster. Also there's something about 904L steel that has a luster that regular steel watches just don't have. I love the Seamaster as well - particularly the blue and white versions. I think the case is elegant and unique. But - between the two - the Hulk is almost a perfect watch.
The answer is very simple from someone who bought a Hulk second hand for 6500 GBP and sent it back 3 days after. This was many many years ago. So these two going against each other, Hulk wins, no arguments. But! When i was able to buy the hulk long before the hype, and held it in my hands, it didn't feel like it was worth that kind of money. So it went back.
@@snf321gotti6 Absolutely. I have no time for grey dealers myself. Especially when they go on in their vlogs, looking at even "cheaper" watches, and saying oh i can only give you this much as i gotta make at least a grand on it. Well they ain't gonna get a penny out of me.
@@_-MiamiVice-_ it's a hype culture . Everyone wants the thing thats hard to get not because it's worth the price it's because you seem important or rich if you have one . Meanwhile the dealers are making huge money getting rid of them. A watch no matter this good is not worth 10k.
@@snf321gotti6 You're perfectly right. Once you actually hold a rolex in your hand you'll see straight away that they ain't worth the money. I remember before the hype all rolexes were selling under retail because that was what people were willing to pay for it. I have to say though buying my seamaster 25 percent off from an omega AD i couldn't be happier with it :) The only watch i ever bought second hand is my Schumacher speedmaster.
I actually think the opposite. The He valve is most likely hidden since it’s on the forearm side and probably under a cuff. The Rolex cyclops is unmistakably Rolex and distinctive from far.
Hulk is more flashy with its colour tone while Seaweed is not as flashy so its safer to wear in public. Both great watches! Nowadays Hulk would be in a safe deposit box while Seaweed everyday wear safer so... Seaweed wins for me 😆
I absolutely love both. Got the Omega, it’s colour is so much better in my eyes. Waiting for a Bluesy as my Submariner, that’s a far better colour than the Hulk…don’t really see the hype of it.
How available are the green omega 300 SMP going to be as you can't just buy one as they are being put on a list. ????? The selling point of being able to get one is not exactly correct.
I’m interested in 2 watches the 2022 breitling super ocean or the omega Seamaster what the best option to go for in terms of future value and the better watch
A couple of weeks ago I got a PRX from CH in Aberdeen and they just opened a new store where I could try on a SMP300 and I fell in love with it so I’ll might get it but in black and rubber strap.
Omega for me all the way. I just do not like that Rolex green, it’s just too much for me, or that damned cyclops over the date. Anyway, I prefer the Omega Seamaster Nekton.
These are both magnificent and enduring watches, but they are sufficiently different to make any direct comparison very subjective. It all boils down to an individual's personal taste as is always the point with any watch. Let's not even mention the differing price points and availability. I'm fortunate to own a 16610 Submariner since 2000, a Kermit and also a more recent Omega SM300 in blue.. Comparing size, thickness, weight, movements and bracelet specs is all well and good, but essentially both do a fine job and are equally iconic. Curiously I'm not a fan of the more livid green Hulk and conversely neither the more muted Seaweed. Great video as always, but you do make me wince when you repeatedly remind us that you're getting old at 25...lol. You may change your mind about the merits of the Cyclops when you hit your 40s 🤓
The added expense of the HEV on the Omega curtails the homage market from banging them of like hotcakes. Whereas a sapphire crystal with a cyclops is pretty inexpensive. You can purchase a fake sub for $75. Omega made a better choice to keep their watch identifiable. Opinion and observation only.
Very very difficult as both are Beautiful watches, but for me i like the green on the rolex more, pity rolex have shot themselves in the foot with there price and availabilty.
Let's look at the nick names given to each of the watches. Rolex HULK... Omega SEAWEED... one of these is at the bottom of the ocean, and one of these is one of the strongest superheros. Let that sink in.
Regarding the Omega crown and wearing thick diving gloves: why on _earth_ would you want to set you watch underwater?! 🤣🐠 The 'comparison' is mostly irrelevant anyway: the Omega is a *current* model watch and you can easily obtain one, I was on the waiting list for about 2-3 months in spring this year. The Rolex Hulk is an older model and is very difficult and expensive to obtain. A slightly better comparison would have been to the current Rolex Cermit/Kermit model, but of course this one is not completely green.
@@ron74555 Just because Rolex can make money on grey market doesn't mean it's a better watch. In my opinion, Rolex just a better brand better marketing, but Omega making better watches.

I will say, for me, nothing wears like 901 steel, it’s phenomenal, somehow feels soft.
I know you've got a ton of Hydroconquest vids already, but, hear me out:
Comparison Video: Longines Hydroconquest vs. Formex Reef
- Identical Water Resistance
- Nearly identical price points $1700/$1725 (Reef with Rubber)/$1850 (Reef with Bracelet)

- Swiss made
I feel like this would be an insanely good comparison video, and no other RUclipsr seems to have hit this comparison.

I got the rubber and mesh OEM. Try them out

The green of the Omega is much more mature, elegant and unique. Seaweed is the Hulk's daddy. And lets not talk about the movement
In your comparison there was no mention of the Omega domed crystal This adds a subtle level of sophistication and elegance the dated Rolex lacks
Really starting to sway back to omega, if it had a tapered bracelet it would be a hands down winner.

I prefer the Rolex aesthetically but I don't like the shady market. I ended up purchasing the Omega from the Omega shop, it was a great experience.
At the design : omega
At the movement: omega, due to display caseback and 15,000 anti-magnetic capability
At the branding: undoubtedly rolex
At the size and wearability: for me is omega
At the elegant and eye-catching: rolex
At the price point and availability to get one within reasonable period of time: definitely omega

I own an Omega Seaweed and in most lighting conditions it just looks like a pale-murky kind of black. A bit disappointing.

@@snf321gotti6 You're perfectly right. Once you actually hold a rolex in your hand you'll see straight away that they ain't worth the money. I have to say though buying my seamaster 25 percent off from an omega AD i couldn't be happier with it :)
The only watch i ever bought second hand is my Schumacher speedmaster.
Chisholm, this video was a bit biased towards Omega.
Love how Chisholm hunter comments on a watch you don’t, or can’t stock. The Rolex crowd are the salt bae enthusiasts , enough said
I actually think the opposite.

I cant think of a scenario that would involve unscrewing a crown with diving gloves on
How available are the green omega 300 SMP going to be as you can't just buy one as they are being put on a list. ?????

One you could add into the mix is the Oris Aquis Hangang

If value is any bit a factor, the Omega simply wins.
Until you go to sell it...then you lose money, whereas, with Rolex, you make money.
@@ron74555 Just because Rolex can make money on grey market doesn't mean it's a better watch. In my opinion, Rolex just a better brand better marketing, but Omega making better watches.
@@wisarut8572 the OP was talking about value and that is what i addressed. Let's stay on topic.
@@ron74555 if you are buying value and features for the dollar you’re probably not trying to invest in jewelry but more to use the watch. And even if you resell an omega for 800 less that also means you can buy a pre owned for 800 less which makes that also a good value. Don’t get me wrong, Rolex’s are really nice.
