    Comments section full of Rolex fanboys, who likely haven’t handled both watches in person or even one most likely. Thanks for the review, people who don’t like the outcome can just move on and not be haters.

    You stated from the beginning that you cannot afford the Rolex Hulk and you own the omega. This speaks volumes about the more desirable watch. People don't get on a waiting list to purchase Omega watches only Rolex has this distinction. Your review is obviously biased because you own the Omega watch. Both watches are great timepieces, but the Rolex is more eye-catching and iconic. Unfortunately, the Omega is pedestrian compared to the Hulk submariner.

    As someone who's worn both, and owns the Omega, the Omega is way better. Beating Rolex in most areas of watchmaking, it also feels good to know I haven't been ripped off like my Rolex friends :)

    Very biased. Compared a current reference Seamaster with an old reference Submariner. Also you need to compare the retail prices. What does it say that you can buy a brand new Seamaster under retail and an older reference Submariner at more than twice retail?

    If you take the perceived value of each watch out of the equation I’d choose omega. But once you add that back in then the hulk it is. But if it were me I’d sell the hulk then buy the omega and go on vacation with the left over.

    I love my Seamaster 300M in the Gray Dial!

    Great comparison and the ratings are spot on! I have the Omega and love everything about it except the bezel action. I would also buy the Rolex if it was in the same ballpark on price but not at the insane prices on the secondary market. There are too many other great watches to go after for that $25K.

      I would probably go for something way more exotic if I was going to spend that much as well. I would always feel that I paid 20k for a 9k watch.

    Rolex does make a better watch, but the shiny green dial on the Hulk looks cheap and chintzy to me. A Bluesy or standard black submariner is amazing but the Hulk in this green colour really doesnt appeal to me. I decided to go for a Black Rolex Deepsea Sea Dweller a few years which i love with my big wrists and also have a Seamaster 300 pro in blue which i love as well. Cant really go wrong with either a Seamaster or Submariner / Sea Dweller - both amazing watches. Good review, thanks.

    Both great, iconic, omega all in all is a better watch, on the other hand rolex is better in value and is much more popular.

  • @charliediliberto6358

    1 for value on the rolex is a bit off. If you bought that thing at retail, you can sell it and buy multiple of those Seamasters with the profit before breaking even.

    • @TheTimekeeper
      @TheTimekeeper  Месяц назад

      Unfortunately, they don’t sell the hulk anymore so you’re stuck with secondary market prices. That’s why I gave it 1 since it feels like $9k watch that you’re paying $20k for.

      @@TheTimekeeper Nah, I get your ratings are subjective, but if you owned that sub and bought it at retail, your opinion would be different. Better comparison is something in production like the current LV sub, the appreciation on that is still more than the entire price of that seamaster brand new.

    When it comes to value the Rolex wins hands down. It doesn't matter how much quality the Seamaster has, spending almost 5K on a stainless steel obsolete watch is a crime. On the other hand the Rolex not only retains it's value, but it would go up in it; your money will devaluate less if you spend it on a Rolex than if you leave it in the bank(that is called investing your money for value retention) whereas with the Seamaster your losing money instantly and losing a lot for an overpriced obsolete tool.
    Rolex is one of the best valued watch brands out there...Omega is overpriced.

    • @TheTimekeeper
      @TheTimekeeper  5 месяцев назад +3

      No. I just don’t see a hulk at over $20k as a good value, I’m surprised how many people disagree with me on that.

    • @fj7509
      @fj7509 3 месяца назад +1

      @@TheTimekeeper It isn't. Because you can literally just buy a normal Sub Date and swap out the dial and bezel and save yourself 10K USD.
      But you still sold the Rolex movement short. It's +2/-2 seconds a day from a movement released in the 1980s. It has a longer 10 year service interval, is more accurate, and has a better beat rate with the same power reserve as the Omega all while using a less complex movement.
      The whole point of the Co-ax was to lengthen the service interval and improve accuracy, but the previous generation of Rolex movements still have better specs. This doesn't even consider the new generation of Rolex movements, the 32 series.

    Bla,bla,bla. 20-25 Thousand says everything. No green watch compareable to the hulk. Best green dial. Omega nice but no Alternative to a hulk. Sorry.
    Becel action omega -0.
    Get an aqua terra instead. Becel on omega sucks.
