I have owned multiple Rolex and today they don’t hold a candle to what omega is offering. I’ve sold all my Rolex watches except for my Daytona, and bought a omega sea master planet ocean and honestly the planet ocean blows the submariner right out of the water. It holds time better it looks better I like how it rides on my wrist better. Omega coaxial movement is incredible. I also picked up the Seamaster 300 M with a leather crocodile skin band with a black dial black face and I switch between this and the planet ocean every other month. They are just incredible watches and they’re half the price of the Rolex.
I believe if we could erase the brand names from the dials, noone would go for Rolex. It was an iconic design back then. However now? Omega is way better. Movement is also more accurate. The only 'cons' omega has i think the bracelet.
Great point now that you mention it. I imagined putting down SEIKO on both of them and looked at from different perspective. I am a rolex fan but Omega does seem to look better under same logo SEIKO
Only thing with this SMP might be the size. I'll probably buy it anyhow but what still holds me back is the thickness, 50mm lug to lug and 42 diameter. 39, 40 or 41 and I'd get it and green and white straight away
The Rolex is thinner, more versatile, has a better bracelet, better bezel, and arguably a more timeless design. The movement has longer power reserve like you said, a better accuracy rating (5 second window vs 6 second window), higher beat rate, and all without needing to use a more complicated escapement. That is EXTREMELY impressive. The Seamaster is a glorious watch, but it is not better than the Submariner.
I respect your opinion but to me you just spit out marketing material that Rolex uses. I have owned multiple Rolex watches over the last two decades and hands down the Daytona is their best watch. I think the Rolex Daytona is one of the best watches ever made. With that said, Omega especially for the price blows Rolex Submariner out of the water. My daily wear is a Omega Planet Ocean because it is everything you said about the Rolex but is true about the Omega. Rolex DOES not keep good time. This 5 second window is mute due to the fact most Rolex's lose time. Every Rolex I own even the Daytona loses time. It drives me nuts. At the end of a month I am 5 minutes slow and I have been slightly late too many times to meetings that I stopped wearing Rolex. I sold all of them minus my Daytona because they just don't keep good time. That's where Omega's co-axial blows Rolex out of the water. Omega guarantees you will never lose time just gain it. My Planet Ocean gains about 2.5 seconds a day putting me at about 5 minutes gained at the end of the month. I much prefer that. Really, the only reason you would buy Rolex is to look rich or as an investment which is one of the reasons I kept my Daytona white dialed Rolex. I can tell you this never once has someone asked me about my Omega's, "Hey, is that Omega real?" I cannot tell you how many times someone asked me about that when I wore my Rolex watches. Cheers!
I own several versions of both watches but if I had to choose one out of all of them it would be the sub all day every day. It’s fit, comfort, style and movement are a bit better in every category. Nothing against the Omega but the sub is just a step above.

I save the Rollie for special occasions but when I wear it…doesn’t excite me like the Seamaster. The Rollie makes you feel a bit like a snob…lol

I always tell people if you’re a watch person and you want an accurate timepiece that’s not gonna lose time that can last forever then youbuy an omega. If you want to look rich or want some kind of investment where you store the watch in a safe and never wear it buy a Rolex. The last thing I want to add is I would never buy a Rolex unless you buy it from an authorized dealer. They are so perfectly copied now that unless you remove the back and actually have an expert looking at the movement you’re not gonna know if it’s fake. There are movements that are so well replicated can’t even tell the difference. You don’t want to drop $10,000 or more on a fake Rolex. That’s the beauty of Romega you’ll know right away if it’s fake.

Can't stand the cyclops. I had a previous version no date and the lugs of the maxi case dug into my wrist. 41mm is meant to be better so I'm looking at that. However, the price point of rolex is putting me off for what you get plus the issues with the newer movement.
@@HawaiianHorology honestly, this sub was from 2001 supposedly, It almost felt too light and cheap I was wearing my SMP. This is a reputable jewelry store in my area so I doubt it was fake, but I'm starting to wonder
I walked in an AD in Vegas with no purchase history and asked for a watch and they basically just turned their head away! I thought it was a bit rude atleast try to sell me something else !
I'll go ahead and settle this one for you guys. Rolex Submariner hands down is slightly better in almost every way. You will definitely enjoy the Omega but until Omega stops putting AR coating on the outside of the crystal, they won't be able to compete in my opinion. I owned an Omega Seamaster a few months ago and within 3 months the AR coating on the crystal had a bunch of visible scuffs/marks on it whereas an Rolex I've ever owned never had any such issues. Also, my seamaster gained about +1 seconds per day where my Submariner only gains about half a second a day. Not a huge deal but it still counts. Now if Omega ever stops putting that SCRATCHABLE ar coating on the outside of it's UNSCRATCHABLE sapphire crystal Rolex better watch out.
How is +5 seconds per day better than +-2 seconds per day. Just by your tone, I see you are biased towards Omega and you’re trying hard to make it seem more desirable.
3500 offer is crazy lowballing, omega lose very slight value because they constatnly raise price every year, so technically u can sell at the value you bought at
You’re right about price and availability. But there is a reason for the lower price and availability. Not many people want an Omega watch and the resale value is terrible. So, if those things aren’t important to you then great. They will always be available anywhere you look. I think you are confusing classic design with old man. The Omega watch is very trendy and right now, but the Rolex is a classic timepiece that will never be out of fashion.
dude, put a soft surface on top of your wooden table! every time you put down your watches and the make a hard noise i cringe... dont you care about them?
Rolex might have baggage but they don’t play with consistency. They are timeless. You buy a Rolex and 20 years from now it will still be in style. People forget the facts. Rolex is more accurate with -/+ 2 seconds Rolex is also anti magnetic Rolex is thinner at 12.3mm The proportions are crazy perfect 70 hour power reserve The bezel action is NIGHT AND DAY shows their attention to detail.
Rolex by a mile. The SMP has a goofy design with its superfluous crown and weird handset. The bracelet is extremely lacking in refinement. Too wide, almost sharp, and the piece that comes out of the adjustment isn't even identical to the rest of the bracelet! But the worst is undoubtedly the action and sound of his bezel. Worse than any Chinese one from Ali Express.
Most Omega's are quite ugly but this one is on Quasimodo/Elephant Man levels of hideousness when compared with the rugged elegance of the 126610LV Rolex Submariner
Very true, and a good reason why watches are poor investment devices (outside of some rarities, like most things). I buy Omega because I like them and I wear them. I also don't buy new. Let someone else take the initial value hit. I look for deals and values.

@@HawaiianHorology honestly, this sub was from 2001 supposedly, It almost felt too light and cheap I was wearing my SMP. This is a reputable jewelry store in my area so I doubt it was fake, but I'm starting to wonder
Next time check out the subs newer models 2014-2024@JohnConnor636
I walked in an AD in Vegas with no purchase history and asked for a watch and they basically just turned their head away! I thought it was a bit rude atleast try to sell me something else !
How rude of them! I hope I have more luck!
I can see why you are mad about the ar coating why would they do that!?!?
@@HawaiianHorology It's not the end of the world, but it really bothered me lol
How is +5 seconds per day better than +-2 seconds per day. Just by your tone, I see you are biased towards Omega and you’re trying hard to make it seem more desirable.
just my opinion
Go with planet ocean.
I was looking at the 39.5mm version and almost pulled the trigger! I really hope they update that line soon
I totally disagree with your comments. You are prejudice and make nonsense comments.
The hands were a non issue
I think it looks good
Rolex of course, no questions.
good answer!
What do you think about the blue seamaster
I think it's awesome and the blue matches perfectly with the LV outdoor messenger bag!
GORGEOUS WATCH 🔥🔥🔥
3500 offer is crazy lowballing, omega lose very slight value because they constatnly raise price every year, so technically u can sell at the value you bought at
I hope that's the case!
not true
You’re right about price and availability. But there is a reason for the lower price and availability. Not many people want an Omega watch and the resale value is terrible. So, if those things aren’t important to you then great. They will always be available anywhere you look. I think you are confusing classic design with old man. The Omega watch is very trendy and right now, but the Rolex is a classic timepiece that will never be out of fashion.
thanks for the insight
dude, put a soft surface on top of your wooden table! every time you put down your watches and the make a hard noise i cringe... dont you care about them?
dang is that how I'm getting all the scratches on my watch lol
The Sub always be The Watch. The Seamaster will never reach that iconic status.
True it's hard to bean an icon
He valve, a pretentious, useless feature, is complete deal breaker for me. No Omega. Intensely dislike it because of He valve.
The HE valve is the most controversial part of this watch
People haven’t seen it because no one wants it.
true
Rolex might have baggage but they don’t play with consistency. They are timeless. You buy a Rolex and 20 years from now it will still be in style.
People forget the facts. Rolex is more accurate with -/+ 2 seconds
Rolex is also anti magnetic
Rolex is thinner at 12.3mm
The proportions are crazy perfect
70 hour power reserve
The bezel action is NIGHT AND DAY shows their attention to detail.
I agree 100 percent about the bezel action!!!
It sounds cheap.
it really does
Unbelievable to compare omega to Rolex! It’s not even close! Rolex win oevery category
I don't think they are that far apart
Rolex by a mile. The SMP has a goofy design with its superfluous crown and weird handset. The bracelet is extremely lacking in refinement. Too wide, almost sharp, and the piece that comes out of the adjustment isn't even identical to the rest of the bracelet! But the worst is undoubtedly the action and sound of his bezel. Worse than any Chinese one from Ali Express.
I agree about the bezel they need to really improve it. I wonder how the planet ocean sounds
Most Omega's are quite ugly but this one is on Quasimodo/Elephant Man levels of hideousness when compared with the rugged elegance of the 126610LV Rolex Submariner
haha!
Lol bro! You’re a loser!!
What a goofy design ! Butt ugly.
Sub.
great choice!
Omega. Rolex is overpriced, and ugly.
🤭
Very true, and a good reason why watches are poor investment devices (outside of some rarities, like most things). I buy Omega because I like them and I wear them. I also don't buy new. Let someone else take the initial value hit. I look for deals and values.
I've learned my lesson too Omega and Tudor I'm buying preowned
@@HawaiianHorologyTUDOR is a one TRICK PONY AND A FAKE ROLEX😂😂😂
@@HawaiianHorologyTudor is owned by Rolex.
