    No code, it was just story (yes to funny/silly)... "The song is written from the point of view of a blue-collar man named Aloysius Devandander Abercrombie, whose nickname is "Mud". When his friend steps on his prized patent leather shoes, the two get into an argument that ends with Mud killing the friend by striking him in the head with an aluminum baseball bat; the lyrics describe Mud's thought process while he attempts to bury the body."

      I find it hilarious how people can find utter shit music as phenomenal. A band that couldnt play a song that makes sense musically if their lives depended on it.
      I'm just curious, what made that song great? Was it the looping single bass riff through the whole song? Oh wait, maybe it was that guitar solo that sounded like he was dragging the guitar across the floor. Or maybe its the lyrica that you have to struggle to hear because the mix is terrible.
      The only decent song they have is the South Park theme

    • @neillenet291
      @neillenet291 2 года назад +9

      @@bkpickell if you took the time to read my comment all two sentences of it you will see that I didn't say it was a "great song." I said they are phenomenal musicians, which they are. As a musician myself I can listen to music that I don't particularly care for and recognize the musicianship. The music that doesn't make "sense" to you makes sense to other people, which is what it's all about. Everyone likes what they like, not everyone likes everything, and that's fine, they don't have to.

    • @awave1

      @@bkpickell I think they did a great job of creating a song that sounds like what it might feel like to be inside the mind of the character depicted. It's a work of art not top 40, but not everyone's cup of tea. I find it rather unlistenable but also respect it.

      @@mikaeladoyle8372 I have a theory that the younger generations are not reading as much literature. It seems like a bigger emphasis in public school education (In the USA at least) is to prepare for standardize tests, rather than actually learning scholarly concepts. Growing up, we were reading at least 3 or 4 books a year, and then had to write a book report on them outlining our interpretations of these books. In high school, we would analyze the books identifying satire, foreshadowing, irony, etc. Looking at social media, I see a lot of errors that come from not reading often. Errors like using the word "loose" instead of "lose" or "would of" instead of "would've." These errors seem like it comes from spelling these words and phrases phonetically, rather than their proper way. I get it though. I don't read as much as I used to either. I am more likely to listen to a podcast or consume a book via Audible, so I am not judging. I'm just thankful that I grew up in a time where there was an emphasis on reading literature, rather than listening to it.

    Al Brand in the comment below got it right, though I would add that when someone's name is mud, it means they are regarded as lower than dirt, or it could mean "in big trouble." When I was a kid we used it all the time in that sense. Example "you better not break Mom's vase or your name will be mud!" Or "oh no, I broke Mom's vase! My name is mud...."

    Primus' lyrics are often deceptively straight-forward. Tommy The Cat is a song about a feline named Tommy. Wynona's Big Brown Beaver is about a woman named Wynona with a pet beaver. This song is about a guy whose name is Mud.

      "Winona's big brown beaver" refers to a woman's bush... or her lesbian lover's bush ... ('That beaver eats taco bell' meant she does not eat sausage 😂)
