Xu Xin is most artist player in table tennis world. Xu Xin forehand topspin is the most typical pupil of old Liu Gualang school from the era of chinese trio superstars Wang Liquin-Ma Lin-Wang Hao. Then japanese manufactures manipulated to apply heavyweight balls (ball weight was 2 grams, then 2.5 grams, and now 2.7 grams) to set up bored japanese "swift hits" style in order to win against chinese players. With these illegal heavyweight balls, Japan than introduced its new generation of small bodied players (it was Harimoto, it is Niwa, Kenta, Hirano, Ito, ...) , which are fit to these ILLEGAL heavyweight balls and japanese bored 'swift hits' style. Best ball weight must be 1.5gram . Even Liu Gualang doubted that Xu Xin forehand topspin techniques are outdated. But Xu Xin is showing the other objective reality. With his forehand topspin, Xu Xin easily beats Harimoto all times. Other new chinese players have troubles against Harimoto, but Xu Xin have not. Xu Xin can easily beat any chinese top players too. Xu Xin had problem. He was a traditional penholder with old traditional penholder backhand techniques. Then Xu Xin added modern backhand techniques of reversed racket side strokes, but he used mixed backhand techniques : old penholder backhand techniques and modern penholder backhand techniques. It is wrong choose. Penholders can choose only one from 2 styles, but not mixed style. It is because of the issue of reaction orientation in quick rallies. Fortunately for Xu Xin, that he then entirely switched to use only modern backhand techniques. For the last 2 years, we see that Xu Xin set up his reaction to play only modern backhand techniques with racket reversed sides for backhand strokes. It is right decision. And this switch requires about 2 year to be fluently applied. Xu Xin spent 2 years from this switch. Xu Xin is now in the stage of modern penholder backhand techniques improving. So Xu Xin still has real big potential. He does not have time to archive career as Ma Long, but he still can win grand slam and olympic title. The weakness of Xu Xin is that he sometimes stops running and playing after realizing his famous forehand topspin, because he thinks that his opponents can not handle. But top players now can easily handle these balls, but they can not initially attack from these balls. So Xu Xin topspin can give him a bit advantages of forcing his opponent to lose positions, but these topspins can not often give directly points. That is why must keep running, and not to risk to earn direct points with forehand topspin in uncleared dominated cases. Xu Xin often play backhand in his so high poses. It is problem too, because he lost temp and angle in backhand techniques and in maneuver of switching forehand-backhand. . And his backhand strokes are still lag of spin, not enough spin as Wang Hao backhand strokes.
+Gary Tay awesome, I do usually watch on ittf live stream actually so will do :D (might have happend on China open? that time I watched on eurosport lol)
+Gary Tay Liu Guoliang and assiant coach( Chin was it?) gave him that name cuz he moves funny compared to rest of the young players lol. It's definately a sign of respect.

john198822 You mean the Spherize yes? :L 6:39 and 3:45 ofc. hehe, yeah, I bet some thinks it's stupid and some find it funny. But I just couldn't help myself from using it xD Glad you liked it.
whoever made this video deserves a medal. great job both on quality and content. although im not sure why sometimes the camera has special effects like blow up and swirl.
daya henry Thanks, glad you liked it! My Fav player too! :L This was intended to be the last though, but I might make one in the future with only newer things. In which case I'd probably wait until the Olympic Games 2016, hoping he'll get to participate there. That might not happen.. (in fact it would be a surprise to many if he did manage) But I got my hopes.
xuxin o melhor de todos os tempos ele não só joga muito como também improvisa no jogo os adversários não sabe o que vai fazer ele é imprevisível xuxin o melhor

The "Cloud Walker", a great way to describe Xu Xin!
xu xin reads the game really well and brings out the best of penhold technique

Thanks to you, Xu Xin is now known as the cloud walker all around the world. The ittf commentators have been calling him by this new nickname
+Gary Tay Really? xD Lmao! I did not know. Nice lol.
Could you mention a couple places this have been said?

Best counter looper on all angles.
Xu xin's nick name in china is "python", for his aggressivity and tenacity.
or Anaconda
A lot of his highlights are love tho
Hail to the master, Xu Xin the show man
he is called python because he will not let you get his point like a python not letting his prey escape
That intro tho

+Jason Yang ahue. Couldn't help myself. Will try to avoid that specific thing on Part 3. :)
Besides Ma Long, Xu Xin is a nightmare of Timo Boll. Boll only defeated Xu Xin once, whilst he easily lost to Xu Xin many times.
He is also a nightmare of Harimoto, who cannot win even once.
Este classineta realmente é um fenômeno
lol didnt know the singing clip was world wide famous hhh good for Xu Xin

1:29 why did Xu Xin do that? Did Patrick provoke him?
He was pointing toward the audience and doing that, after winning the last point in the match (3-0) :v

*Why he is called "Cloud Walking" ?*
+【☯】ɈẨƇƘ【♞】 i assume because of his amazing footwork

+【☯】ɈẨƇƘ【♞】 Ironically, it was initially the opposite. However it's now used as compliment instead of a mock from chinese coaches. xD

why "cloud walking"?
His coach, Liu Guoliang, gave him this nickname (in Chinese it means 'strolling on a cloud' meaning his movement was slow). Later, others apply it to mean that he's good - a cloud walker.
