If not for Sinner, Zverev would easily be the most improved player year on year. This guy is finding his levels this season and competing toe to toe with Sinner and Alcaraz. He's in his physical prime and his game has shown remarkable all round growth. Made the RG finals this year, and you expect him to be competing for all the slams in 2025. Carlos can't serve like Roddick 188, Becker 191 or Ivanisevic 193 because they are tall players and because of that he should look up to players of similar height. Novak did not have a top serve, but with the arrival of Becker and Ivanišević, he improved that shot and that weakness was turned into an effective weapon. After the end of the Davis Cup and until the start of Australia, Alcaraz should use that break exclusively to work on the serve choosing one of the listed options.

Why did Alcaraz play that ball like that at 2:39 ? He had that whole side of the court op and just needed to play it down the line. it should have been a pretty easy winner - and the tie break score would have been 6-6 (instead of 7-5 for Zverev). I couldn't believe Carlos missed that shot.

Zverev has upgraded many parts of his game the last few seasons. His volleys are much better, his forehand is much better under pressure, and his first serve is now one of the best in the game (second serve still a little shaky, but not the weakness it once was either). The last thing that Zverev needs to upgrade is his mental fortitude in grand slam finals
