    This reminds me of the days when the U.S. Open used to livestream matches on its own website. The stream quality was far superior to what ESPN (which was full of glitches and constant buffering and frequent crashes) had to offer. And you got to see the gamut of matches from the juniors to wheelchair tennis matches. It was such a great way to give access to American fans. The USTA needs to repossess their streaming rights and reserve the right to livestream matches. Neither ESPN nor Tennis Channel deserve exclusive streaming rights and both are diminishing the quality of the viewing experience. Broadcast rights are one things but they should never have been allowed to secure exclusive streaming rights.

      And you didn't need an account or super fast Internet. It was JUST THERE and I spent a lot of time on my school library desktops watching the USOpen for about three years until I could afford to go and had no trouble paying for tickets. Now I refuse to pay for ESPN

    • @OneAdam12Adam
      @OneAdam12Adam 8 месяцев назад

      Yes, I remember those days. It was awesome all of the matches you could bounce around to. I agree that neither Tennis Channel nor ESPN deserve exclusive rights.
      It certainly isn't helping the sports numbers.
      Sadly, Tennis Channel is selling out to pickleball just like local departments of Parks and Recreation. It's an ASININE move and real betrayal of tennis players worldwide.
      At least, do like Spain is doing and play touchtennis! Touchtennis is FAR SUPERIOR TO pickleball in every aspect.
