  • Hello dragon fruit enthusiasts! Today marks the birth of the newest ASUNTA 7 dragon fruit variety. Edgar Valdivia and I tasted two ASUNTA 7 seedlings, and the A7-S1 seedling was superior in terms of flavor, texture, complexity, and brix score. Therefore, A7-S1 was selected by Edgar as the official ASUNTA 7. We wanted to express our gratitude to Edgar for his incredible 25 years of contribution in dragon fruit hybridization, cheers!

    Great work to even further this some times would big larger pots between the earlier teen stages before fruit in 7 to 8 months by giving more room your able to accelerat the growth. Among using ferments in a Korean natural farming manner

    • @leewifarms
      @leewifarms  11 месяцев назад

      Wow, never heard of the Korean way! You are right on taking great care of the plants with the proper fertilizer and apply them in different stages of the seasons. In fact this is the very first year of ASUNTA 7 to bear fruits after just 18 months grafted the seedlings given by Edgar Valdivia, surprisingly the fruit tasted delicious and was so much enjoyable!

    I love Edgar and the work he’s done to promote Dragon Fruit … however I don’t approve of his individual seedling tracking approach … for example if you raise 100 children … each one will be different.
    They may be similar… some may become brain surgeons … some may become bank robbers …
    So for example if there are 100 … A7 seedlings each will/can grow, look, taste different …
    So if Edgar gives away who knows how many A7 seedlings which seedling (kid) 👍👎 do you have ?
    Nothing wrong with giving out new seedling hybrids to people, but at least have an assigned number associated to that unnamed or A7 seedling for tracking purposes …
    May I suggest viewing some more videos on RUclips by: Kim Phan Dragon Fruit

      Hi Don, thanks for your comment! I know how you labeled your seedlings systematically before distributed to Tye, Kim or Paul, so that once one of them produced fruit, the others would be aware of what it was. One thing I am not certain if Edgar uses a system that is comparable to yours.
      In fact, Kim and I know each other very well. I purchased Chantilly Lace, Kinsley, Amelie, Queen Deanery, Connie Gee, and Celester cuttings from Kim. I always look up to you, Don, when it comes to hybridizing dragon fruit. Years ago, I tried to contact you, Don. Perhaps I can come see you soon so we can chat about dragon fruit. Hi, so Edgar has set a few criteria for his Asunta hybrids, and these criteria applied to Asunta 5 and Asunta 6 as well. Fortunately, the A7-S1 seedling that I grew met those criteria. It's quite surprise the fruit profile taste amazing in its first season of fruit, hope your seedlings thrive as well.

    • @OaxDragonFruit
      @OaxDragonFruit 11 месяцев назад

      Comparing to what? There’s lots of A7 seedlings fruits coming next year including mine. Just like A5 there’s always another fruit that will surpass that criteria

      Cool, I thought an Asunta 7 would be a cross pollinate between Asunta 6 and Tricia. It's still great seeing new varieties. Still waiting for any dragon fruit plant to bloom to cross pollinate with Cacti I have.
