Thank you so much for your education. Without you showing and training and putting in work, mine would still be a joke. I commented once, I had mine for ~8 years. Then I watched a video from you and in this year I gained more plant mass than in the years prior. Plus I have 457,49 clones :)
Thanks for the video! I would really like one on how you prune after the season. Clearly they're growing HUGE and long... so how do you know when and how to trim back at the end of the season?
Really enjoy your videos. I recently moved to Brazil. 1 month ago we had a neighbor give us 10 dragon fruit plants. I don't know what variety it is but we are getting ready to prune and build the appropriate support for them. I feel more confident about the processes now. I plan to show the progress on my channel and hopefully I will live up to your examples! 🤩
Following all your videos from Mallorca in Spain! We planted a dragon fruit plant in 2022 and now have the first fruit ripening! Thanks for all your tips!
Fantastic video my friend , I’m new to growing these dragon fruits , this year just got four cuttings growing , it’s spring time here almost summer on us here is Australia , I have the white variety and your video has been a big help for me to grow these properly. 👍
Australia here as well. Just out of Brisbane. My cuttings have reached the top of the trellis and I am about to cut the top and watch them branch out. It’s pretty exciting. Happy growing to you.😊
I have loved the hylocereeae since I first started gardening many years ago. I love them for their flowers but the fruit are a bonus. They are much more popular & easy to find now. Thanks for the video.
Most of mine are on the balcony now, here in Germany. So not too far away. If you watch enough of his video`s and get bold and mutig, you will grow monsters, too. I don`t think we ever get enough sun for big, fat fruits but still so much fun, mine is currently air rooting a Cannabis plant. All friends!
@aaronbrucker6062 mine are ages old. But I kept them in a tiny pot. Then I watched some videos here and began work. One might got big enough to bloom for the first time. Its more than a meter tall and grew in ~2years. So you can have some rapid, healthy growth, even "here". I use everything you can imagine to fertilize my plants. E.g. my Orchids get Cannabis plant bloom booster. Sometimes. I uploaded a short today of my balcony Cannabis plant which is cuddling with an undatus. Some Trichocereus are somewhere there, too.
I felt the same way. However everything on the site is marked sold out or coming soon. But After seeing the price tag of 85$ for some starts, I decided to stick with the unknown variety given to me by a neighbor. They are fun to grow but the fruit is really uneventful and not something your mouth waters about. There's a lot of other fruits worthy of a large price tag.dragon fruit isn't one of them. It's more of a novelty, hardly even worth the lower price of 20$. The channel is quite helpful tho with a lot of useful information and pleasant instruction
@@ollady7968 He is a great Dragon Fruit teacher and know what he is talking about. I enjoy seeing his videos and enjoy his grafting techniques. Price come from having followers that want what you have.
Love your dragon fruit videos. I have a dragon fruit growing in a tree here in Florida and it has never fruited here. Cutting came from Nicaragua where it was probably pollinated by bats on our farm. I'll need to hand pollinate probably. Planning on taking it down & planting in pots. Can I use 20-25 gallon grow bags?
Hi am so glad i watched your video. I had mine for 6 yrs and i have 6 posts. During that time never had any fruit and i just got interested when it started producing last yr. Now im beginning to start really interested bec of your vlog. Mine is planted on the grnd and i didnt know that you can do it in the pot. Id like to plant some in pots. How can you secure the sturdiness of the post if its just in the pot? How many gals do i have to use and how tall is the post?
The brunches you cut , they are not hardy and they are soft too , is these cuttings are good for planting? I heard mature brunch cuttings give fruits faster
Yeah. From PERSONAL experience I have several cuttings grow that I trimmed that weren't even an inch of growth. They are now fully rooted and thriving. I use Dr Earth's fertilizer *exotic* and my soil is from a local place that filled the bed of my truck for $40.
@26:20 You talk about the canopy. I'm at the stage where I topped mine and now have 3 beautiful branches going kinda crazy but it almost looks like they need topping too. But you say that those will eventually make my canopy? I don't want to cut anything until I know for sure. The other three mother plants at the bottom of the pot are growing slowly but this one is great. So I keep them and let them keep getting longer? This will make a canopy? Tia
Very informative video…I learned a lot,Thank u…We have a lot of this plant, but since my husband getting older he can’t take care them anymore..So now I’ve to take it over planting n taking caring🙏❤️..What size of pots u used n the soil n fertilizer ?🙏
Thank you for the video. It's very informative. Have a question for you: my cuttings are reaching top, I cut one 2 inches above the top like you said but there's one that developed 5 branches on its own at the 2 inch above the top. So do I need to cut it at all or just let it be? Thanks
Hey brother, ive been watching your videos for quite some time and this year I made room in the backyard to setup a bunch of plants to grow. I want to support you and would like to get some cuttings to start, do you happen to sell/ship any cuttings?
I have been reading your post & just recently decided to grow these plants. Where and how do I get cuttings of the ff: 1. American Beauty - self fertile and self pollinating 2. Sugar Dragon - self fertile 3. Pink Panther - self fertile 4. Sour Patch Kids - self fertile and usually self pollinating 5. Condor - self fertile and self pollinating Thanks.
Mine are spike traps I don't even know what type of dragon fruit I've got I started 2 from tiny little cuttings now they are huge so this video is helpful or I wouldn't know what to do with them . I was thinking to graft a cutting to a san Pedro cactus wonder what will come of it
I live in northern CA and will be coming to SoCal. Where I can get some self fertile or self pollinating cuttings? People close to me don’t know what kind they are.
Ive only seen a few dragon fruit plants growing down from a pot in the air. Most are like what you have but are there any problems other then the weight of them with doing that?
It’s the perfect time to fertilize! This will help it with producing fruits and keeping the plant healthy while it spends its energy flowering/fruiting.
I have a question 🙋, when you notice new growth coming from the side and you forsure know that's not the main branch you gonna lead to the top, is it better to let it grow pass 8 inches to use for a new cutting or better to remove it right away so you can grow to the top quicker???
Where can I get some of those interesting varieties like Asunta-5, Starburst, etc? I have 2 unknown varieties. A fuchsia colored one and a white flesh given to me by a friend from Los Angeles. He didn't known the varieties either.
Richard: how tall are your trellis? I made mine based on your videos a few years ago, its around 6ft, and my DF produced about 10 fruit last year. This year the whole trellis is leaning and has fallen over. Someone suggested that I start over but I wouldn’t get fruit again this year.
Hope you enjoyed the video! Be sure to hit the 👍 and leave a comment. It'll help the channel continue to grow and me to make more content. Thank you for the support! 🙏

Do you have any cuttings for sale ?
How tall should the dragon fruit grow before you build a wooden trellis
Also what is the best soil for repot your dragon fruit . Mine are about 8-10 inches tall

Wonderful information. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
The countryside looks so calm and perfect for farming.
Planted mine 3 years ago and this year ive got a bud in each branch, I hope most of them make it
Just started with a few cuttings from a local grower. This is very helpful, thank you! Ormond Beach Florida
His pollination video will help you a lot if you haven't seen it. It'll help you get fruits to stick🍻
I live in Brazil and dragon fruits loves this warm climate ❤❤❤

I've learned a lot from you, and planning to revive my dragon fruit plants. thanks for sharing important tips , more power to you, God bless.
Thanks from India! Iam learning from you how to care for dragon plants.
This is very informative video ever. Thank you so much for sharing. Subscribed!
Thank you this video. I am watching this from Papua New Guinea . Very informative as I am planning my dragon fruit farming. Thank you once again.
Very informative pruning dragon fruit. Now I am going to prune mine❤

@@MrEiht good to hear they grow at least! How old are they? And do you use bloom fertiliser and tipping to increase the chance of blooming?

Thanks for the very informative tips!
Glad it was helpful!
Gracias por compartir thus conocimientos y hacer cortes end vivo, con abundancia de explicaciones.
Aprendí mucho.

Can we have a video about fertilizers to spray on aerial roots
Will add that to the list!
My dragon fruits have plenty of buds but sad to say they did not bloom into flowers nor fruits coz birds keep on eating them..
Ik ga het ook proberen,ik een ton zal aardehalen.

Thank you. This was very helpful. I would like to see how you have your wife hold those branches to help you tie them to the center without breaking.
You’re welcome! I’ll try to get a video of that next time 😊
Thanks, Richard! Grateful that you would allow them to grow wild just to teach us.
Very informative
I like this fruit, it's very famous and very cheap in Vietnam, very easy to grow, Pay attention at 11:40
Thank you for the best presentation I like it
Thanks for sharing. The cuttings you have removed or pruned. If you have to plant them how long will they start producing fruits?
Thank you so much 🥰
Where can we order cuttings from and howmuch do they cost please
Wow thanks very much

You don’t need to do anything at this point, let those 5 beaches grow all the way out into a canopy and they’ll develop fruits the very next season!
Richard at 9:12 why wouldn’t you cut that big main branch so the growth is directed to the new main branch?
8:48 So "main branch" is a choice? You can pick which one you want to be your main branch?
Thank you ❤very interest information ❤Latvia ❤
Why am I watching this video when I don’t even have one 😅
The asunta 6 closet to the window has a branch growing out already just where you taped it to the trellis.
Great information but I would like to know soil suitable for growing and natural fertilizer to use
Do you compost all the cut branches, sir??
How do you protect them in wintertime?
Hey thanks.....I m following you from india Maharashtra state....palghar dist, just planted few verities......let's see
Best of luck!

What is the ideal post height for the dragon fruit main stem to grow on
I prefer 4-5 feet in height.
Is there a base on the main post?
Here new subscriber from Nagaland
I live in northern CA and will be coming to SoCal. Where I can get some self fertile or self pollinating cuttings? People close to me don’t know what kind they are.
Try asking in my FB group. There are many sellers
Nice video, and you have setup a great store web page. I sent you a MSG. Have a great 4th with the family.
Which fertilizer you usef to feed your dragon fruit? Thanks
Richard,
Do you sale sugar dragon fruit? I like to stem so I can grow it. Thanks
Good morning,I see you video, and I'm here in San Francisco,CA I'm dragon love, and what advice ?
Love from Bangladesh❤️❤️
In the last plant when u cut it from the flesh, should we cover the exposed open top. Wouldn't it cause infection or disease?
Love❤
Thank you
Which month is good for pruning. Kindly suggest.
are you plant in sand or gravels?
Thank you
Do you have to hand pollinate any of these hybrids?
Yes definitely. Most of the varieties I currently have requires hand pollination
Ive only seen a few dragon fruit plants growing down from a pot in the air. Most are like what you have but are there any problems other then the weight of them with doing that?
What fertilizer do you use to make it grow more branches? Can you buy it online?
May I ask what mixture you use for- soil, sand and pit moss?
Hi Richard, I really like to buy some cuttings of the purple flowers variety. Do you sell them?
if i have a plant that is budding now really well should i use fertilizer at this point or just let it flower
It’s the perfect time to fertilize! This will help it with producing fruits and keeping the plant healthy while it spends its energy flowering/fruiting.

What kind of soil you use
I have a question 🙋, when you notice new growth coming from the side and you forsure know that's not the main branch you gonna lead to the top, is it better to let it grow pass 8 inches to use for a new cutting or better to remove it right away so you can grow to the top quicker???
How long this wooden support would last...?
Where can I get some of those interesting varieties like Asunta-5, Starburst, etc?
I have 2 unknown varieties. A fuchsia colored one and a white flesh given to me by a friend from Los Angeles. He didn't known the varieties either.
You can try in my FB group
How long dose this plant take to put fruits

I don’t know what kind of variety I have but it has 4 sides instead of 3. Can you tell me what I have? Am new to this.
When is the best time to plant dragon fruit plant?
How many years do they continue to produce fruits?
