Hi Richard, I can tell you enjoying your fatherhood journey. I enjoy watching and learning from you. I am really interested in starting my own dragon fruit journey.
Hey Richard. Thanks for sharing as usual. I'm from the Caribbean, Trinidad🇹🇹. My dragonfruit started budding way early this year from late January and wasn't expecting such early budding. As such, I didn't get to prune before budding. Is it ohk to prune the tree while it is budding/flowering/fruiting?
Wish I found you when I first planted my dragonfruit! They are so big and out of control, I'll be doing a lot of pruning now and hopefully increase productivity. Thanks for sharing all your information!
I just went through my dragon fruit today and trimmed them. It hurt my heart to cut them, but I had to reassure myself that it would speed up growth in the main branch. Crossing fingers!
Thank you for the instruction. I just had my first harvest, but only 7 fruit showed up. Now I know why and will start pruning for next year's season. Also, once you tip the end, will it re-flower next year, or do you have to let new branches grow to produce new flower?
Thanks for the great video. I’ve just found Dragon Fruit and your explanations are wonderful. I’m purchasing some small cuttings and was wondering if when you plant them out do they just keep growing upwards? Do the need to be pruned when they get say 4 feet tall to make them branch. I’m in New Zealand in the South Pacific. Thanks Deb DUPAIN
My Dragon fruit tree Has been grown on a palm for at least 15years. It is way over grown. What is the best way to remove it and start cuttings as you have done. I have had 1 fruit in the 15years it has been there. So I know it can pollinate itself. It flowers every year 1 time, but they don't produce fruit and when it does it usually gets eaten by squirrels. The squirrels are a pest problem in fruiting season(eating the new fruit) and when growing on the palm tree I can't reach them to bag them! Do I just pull it all down and keep the best leads?
Hi there, i have few dragon fruit that growth very very wild ..i dont know it has to be pruned😅. As it grow so wild, it i reqlly need to do something but not very sure if i should give it a big trim..would it affect the fruting ..youe advise qould be very much apprecited.
Richard, for your orange, you can try putting 2 cups of brown sugar close to the roots. I have 2 sour orange trees like you have. I dig a hole very close to the tree enough to contain 2 cups of brown sugar. I then soak the brown sugar with water. I let the water drain and soak the sugar again. You can do this 2-3 times or until you don’t see the sugar. I have done this 2 years in a row, and I have been getting sweeter oranges. Give it a try and good luck! Thanks for your video, I have learned very important method to produce more fruits for my dragon fruits.
Very interesting , my first season had about 7 flower no fruit yet , i will keep trying i think my pots are small , be changing them. Please can you tell the size of your pots. Thanks
Could you please tell me what potting mix you use..I thought dragon fruit had to be planted in the ground, but yours look amazing. I would like to put mine in a pot...thank you God bless
Hi Richard, Thank you for sharing. I do have a question on the optimal length to keep the 2nd branch (this is the one that branches off the main branch when the main branch is over the trellis. These 2nd main branches would hang over the trellis and keep growing. How far down is the optimal length to maintain?
I have two beautiful dragon fruits, here in East TN. I can't leave them out over the winter of course, so my son built wooden cages on wheels that are amazing, I just roll them in for the cold months. They do produce 2-3 dragon fruit for us every year. It's a huge deal when they do...we love it. I'd like to expand my collection, which varieties would you suggest and do you sell those ?
Great video! Thumbs up! very nice demo! You have become my go-to guy when it comes to dragon fruit, though my plants have not produced any fruit yet :-(
Hello, thank you so much for your videos they really do help a lot, I started my dragon fruit journey, and I hope to get a couple of cuttings from you when they are available!
What is the best season for dragon fruit cutting/pruning?.. I love to prune my dragon fruits but we already have the rainy season now. Is it safe if I prune them now?
In most of the videos i watched it's said to used 20/25 gallon pot but i don't have a lot of space so i wanna used 15 gallon pot, so can i put 4 plants per pot or should i put less since it's a smaller pot.
Thank you for the awesome knowledge. You have been the most helpful person pertaining to grafting dragon fruit. I am very excited to go searching for a viable stem to graft to my rootstock. New sub for sure!
Hi Sir ! How big those pots u r using n where do u buy them ? Also what kind of soil n fertilizer u used, preferably organic ? 🙏…I have a lot to replant also…My hubby used to do it but they r in 2 gallons plastic plastic pot n no trellis/canopy🙏

Yes! I'm new to growing dragon fruit and cut it & put it in the dirt right next yo its momma & low and behold... it had roots! Literally did nothing else.. no I didnt put it in the Nevada shade and yes... it was hot (90's) Just directly cut and instantly put in dirt. I kill every plant I get but this plant... its a match made it heaven ❤
I noticed on your main branches you have cut areas. I do too. Is that something to be concerned with. Talking about on the 4x4 towards bottom by the soil
Hi Richard, I'm living in Panama and started to grow dragon fruits this year. I'm soon going to eat my first fruit. I'm in San Diego area in the next week and was wondering if I can come by to see your kingdom? Thanks, Manor.
Is it too late to tip my branches? 1) one-year-old branches of a mature NoID to encourage fruit for next year; and 2) on a young branch that has grown to 3 inches above my trellis (to encourage more branching)? I'm in San Diego, zone 10a, and autumn starts this weekend.
I notied that you had some yellow branches in some of the Pots was that a different Variety or just a normal yellow branch as you didn’t prune them. When you start a Dragon fruit tree do you just start them with one center leader? Nice job on the video I enjoyed watching it.
I appreciate your informative vids! I have a question , once you plant a cutting how many seasons will it take to see dragonfruit give its fruits? One more question, if fertilizers weren’t use like you recommended, or at all, will the dragonfruit still produce flower /fruits? TY!
I have two Dragon fruit a white and pink . The bees cross pollinated the pink which I don't like . I picked the white out of the ground. Will the pink go back to producing pink fruit or should i get rid of it altogether and start fresh again please let me know?

Is it ok to paint the wood trellis before i have my plant grow on it?
I assume it’s perfectly fine with modern paints but if you’re worried about chemicals avoid painting the part that goes under the soil.
Thank you for sharing! Do they need to be repotted at some point?
Next week.
Hi! What's the brand name of your pruning shear/scissor? It will be much helpful for fruit picking.

Hello Richard, I have one questions.. 1 main branches can have how many sub branches and if sub branches also grow another branches what should we do?
Can have as many as it is possible depending how big the branch is and how many nodes. You can continue pruning the subs or leave it as is.
Thanks 🙏
