Dear Mr. Valdiva, I have been growing Dragon fruit for 6 years ad get mant flowers but no fruit, I even pollinate flower to flower with a q-tip but it is the same plant stock that I have divided into 30 plants. Thanks in advance for ant advice, I live in Suriname South America
Some varieties are self sterile and need to be pollinated with another variety. Perhaps see if any other growers and pollen exchange, but otherwise get a variety going. Check for varieties that are universal pollinators.
Hello Edgar, my name is Calvin, I would to grow Asunta 5 too. Is it possible to buy or get a cutting from you. I live close by in Los Angeles. Asunta 5 is so beautiful and would like to grow your work and your remembrance of your mother.
Hello, good morning! What's up? My name is Sebastião Almeida and I'm the president of the Brazilian Association of Pitaya Producers. I'm the creator and coordinator of the National Meeting of Pitaya Producers (the largest follow-up event in Latin America). This year we have a well-structured project supported by the largest Brazilian federal universities, which will be the International Circuit of Pitaya. This project intends to gather great researchers from several countries in the biggest world tour of the pitaya production chain all over the world, and for this we already have the support of technical professionals and researchers from Brazil, Mexico, Ecuador and Peru, but we would like to count with the participation of North Americans as well. I would like to know if you have any contact from any researcher of the pitaya culture who may be composing this team, so that together we can tour this circuit and hold the largest fruit event in the world. Thank you.
brad spaugh it’s because there’s a series of asuntas 1 through 4, now 5. The asunta 5 was produced by cross pollinating asunta 4 with another variety. In this case 2 flowers on the asunta 4 plant was in bloom and each was pollinated with a different variety. One was pollinated with a variety with a white flower and the other was pollinated with a variety with red flower.
brad spaugh 🤷♀️ beats me . That's how the creator wants it named. I'm guessing they're naming them in series like 1, 2 , 3..etc. probably would've been better off with Asunta 5a and Asunta 5b. Less confusing to some that way.
Hi sir I would like to ask you how can I get the varieties that you have created because I’m a very big fan of this plant and I’m a younger man of 20 years old I’m a tahitian from Tahiti and I have some varieties of dragon fruit but I would like to collect all of the varieties !!! Please let me know if I can get your varieties !! Thank you !!
Gracias señor Valdivia. Es emocionante ver y aprender como crear nuevas variedades. Yo apenas comienzo esta aventura con las pitahayas.✌🇲🇽 gracias.

If someone crossed Asunta 3 with Selenicereus Megalanthus or with the Desert King variety, that would be very exotic.
Congratulations Sr Edgar Valdivia great job.

Its confusing that different seedlings are all being called asunta 5

@@lemontea128 so theres 2 different crosses with the same name? That makes no sense.
