One of the best soft seed pomegranate varieties is the Azadi. Although native from Turkmenistan it grows well in California. It has sweet, juicy, large arials.

Really great information. I also love really sweet fruit and love to start plants from cuttings. Here in Florida, I don't worry so much for the cold as it got into upper 20's just 3 times this year but it is really wet. I have a feeling a pomegranate wouldn't do so well and I've never seen one growing her in North Central FL. I need to check that out at some of the nurseries. Thanks for all the information and also providing credit to the people that worked so hard to develop these fruits.

Is it possible to get any of your varieties in Canada? Our selection is extremely limited here and it has only gotten worse since the pandemic. I'd love to see something like Pithaya Asunta and Azadi here. My niche is usually plants that prefer a Mediterranean climate such as citrus, figs, and pomegranates but I'm starting to develop an interest in dragon fruit after seeing your tireless research.
