I have this piece of paper with the lyrics that Patti threw at the end of the song. We were sitting in the first row
If you had sat in a ditch a mile away from the concert, it wouldn't have been any worse. Who do you think you are? One love, still.
You should frame it and put up on your wall.
Flemming, PLS send me the lyrics, for I'd love to read it in silence... ❗🙏🏽

lucky you‼️
Dylan's best poem from two of the greatest women singers and personalities of our times. A mythical interpretation!
That made a hard rain from my eyes for the shape of things today.
Thank you for the share. I was in tears when I saw Joan come on stage. I told my daughter she will never again see two historically important feminist figures like this in her life so pay attention! What a concert!
And both appreciat bob dylan's music and lyrics 👍
Patti Smith is but a child compared to Joan Baez.....One Lived the Dreamtime, the other did not
I was in tears too ! These women are the ones I love the most 💗
PattiSmitH & JoanBaeZ & all who stand tall since the 60ies defending LIFE ITself ! beautiful Beings, deep Thank You & Blessings .
Integrity is a rare gem in this era of fake , fear & confusion
Baez is like: get this piece of paper away from me. I was in the room when he wrote it!
When Bob wrote this song,he was with Suze Rotolo together, few years befor he meet Joam
I think the lyrics on paper is Patti making fun of herself regarding her small, but noble recovery, fault at the Nobel Ceremony. She, as well as Joan, know this song well. The other little irony here is both of them are very well acquainted with Mr. Dylan. It’s a treat to see these great artists perform together.
Non thinkers should keep thier non thoughts to themselves
I have this piece of paper here at home. I was in 1st row and was able to catch it.
Patty was in the room next door
Joann you are such a beauty inside and out...Patty your amazing free spirit shines still...may you stay forever young soul sisters.
Michael McLoughlin
This is an outstanding performance, two great singers singing. a song written
about 50 yrs. ago by a great songwriter-it all fits perfectly & it always will.
wow made me believe the 60' and 70' were one of the greatest years in the 20th century
They were. I was growing up through those years.
Incredible time to be young and surrounded by the music of Dylan, Joan Baez, Peter, Paul & Mary, Judy Collins, Donovan and so much fun to also be living close to Hollywood in those days.
Two heroes who always have opposed injustice and prejudice in all its forms
Hi there,how are you doing?
Standing ovation to the great Lenny Kaye, too. His beautifully crystal clear tunes..
Es war ein Wahnsinerlebniss! Ich war da und bin glücklich für dieses Erlebniss.
Does anybody else wish that Janis Joplin could be there?
I wish Barack Obama was there
Yes. Janis japlin wishes she was there.
and Mary Travers
Actually no. Never liked her. Patti and joan are way better
Loved Janis Joplin. I still hear here when I hear certain songs ❣️
This song has haunted me my whole life.
You are so wonderful Joan and Patti when you sing together and the scarves is perfect on you. Thanks ❣️❣️
Great job by a punk rocker on maybe the most influential song of our generation. Way to go ladies!
I ❤ Patti !....and Bob Dylan....listened to all their songs since those Art college days
this is heartbreakingly beautiful, grace, Patti is grace in human form,
This song has never been more relevant than today...
and this long white hair in the wind making her look celestial ?! thank god for patti smith on this planet
The epitome of another famous Dylan (Thomas) about living your life - "Do not go gentle into that good night".
Rage, rage against the dying of the light
A songwriter named Indio Solari says :
"A song can not change my world, but it helps me understand" and it`s true. No words for 2 Ladies, they`re part of our lifes.-
We all slow down with age,if we are fortunate enough to get some sort of distance. Patti? Like most of us,very entertaining. Joan? This lady has NO limits. Still an inspiration to a new generation. Go the ladies. Well done. You have made the most of your God given talents. WE ALL have one or more. Some people choose to use that talent or more. Other people choose a lesser path. It is always an individual choice. All the best ladies. 😁👍💕
Just fantastic two giants singing a giant song ....
We miss you Bob. 55 years now since you were last seen and your words still ring true.
Jason O'Dwyer . last seen? I saw him live at the Hop Farm festival UK 2012
Hes playing all the time
I saw him in concert in Tucson, Arizona in March 2022!
I love any Dylan interpretation by Joan Baez👍👍
Joan still know the song ...damn! It's one such lyric which is so difficult to remember.
The Google translation of the German language description of this video. "Great concert by Patti Smith on August 2nd, 2018 on Roncalli-Platz in front of the Cologne Cathedral. As a surprise guest, Joan Baez came on stage, playing her own concert in the same place the next day. Here both together at the Bob Dylan classic A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall, which Patti Smith also presented at the awarding of the Nobel Prize for Literature 2016 to Bob Dylan in Stockholm."
This is so beautiful!
Thank u so much.
Oh wow. Thank you for sharing! Wish I was there to witness this in person.
Great great great women ! Abd such a vibrant and powerful interpretation of Dylan's best song !
Love the wisdom, talent, and beautiful white hair!!!
me too ; kind greetings from Marie in France !
💕
Da kommen mir die Tränen... Sehr schön!!!
Thomas Reschke Mir auch. 🌸
I am literally smiling. This is so beautiful.
Beautiful ladies ❤️ thanks 😚😚
This is lovely, it made me very emotional and a bit tearful. Thank you for this.
Fantastique !! le grand frisson ...
I love that Patti and Joan use a piece of paper with the lyrics. What's the point of pretending to memorize a long, dense song? Dylan himself forgets his own words all the time. The audience still loves the performance, lyrics sheet or no lyrics sheet. Bravo 💜
Dam tears a fallen here thanks ladies most appreciated.
I hadn’t heard this song yet done by Joan Baez. Enjoyed it Always I hear Patty Smith doing Bob Dylan’s A Hard rains goin A fall. I always enjoy listening to Patty Smith singing this song ❣️

Can only say: Gracias a la vida❤
This is just sooo great..I love this two great Ladys..and the Interpretation of the Song from Bob Dylan..
Patti Smith is greatest ever.
beautiful performance 💙
Criticisms of her using the written lyrics? Whomever is lodging those complaints is the target of those very lyrics. You prove that "it's a hard rain''s a-gonna fall" on humanity. Hell, I'm almost her age and I can't remember where I left my reading glasses.
me, too...now, where is my glasses...
Vielen, vielen Dank für's Filmen und Posten. Es waren mit die magischsten Minuten eines unvergeßlichen Abends!!!
Gern geschehen, war ein tolles Konzert!
Oh, where have you been, my blue-eyed son?
Oh, where have you been, my darling young one?
I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I've crawled on six crooked highways
I've stepped in the middle of seven sad forests
I've been out in front of a dozen dead oceans
I've been ten thousand miles in the mouth of a graveyard
And it's a hard, and it's a hard, it's a hard, and it's a hard
And it's a hard rain's a-gonna fall
Oh, what did you see, my blue-eyed son?
Oh, what did you see, my darling young one?
I saw a newborn baby with wild wolves all around it
I saw a highway of diamonds with nobody on it
I saw a black branch with blood that kept drippin'
I saw a room full of men with their hammers a-bleedin'
I saw…
Danke fürs hochladen, das war sicher ein großartiges Konzert. "The two women I admire most :), and this song which was always very important for me "

Hello, how are you doing out there?
Habe Tränen in den Augen..
Heartbreaking
This song helped Leonard Cohen to sing his poems!!!!!!
Sehr berührender Auftritt...
Mitiche !!!!!! 🌹❤🌹❤💕
Grandios
magnifique toutes les deux j aimerai bien les voir
Lotta times I´d asked myself the reason why women interpretates Bob Dylan´s song, For instant, Joan Baez interpretating The Girl From River Shore, much better than Dylan´s one.
Listening Patti and Joan´s one, finally I discovered the reason: two feminine souls. Bob´ Dylan´s sensibility is feminine.
Maybe I found this moving because I am a white-haired, 62-year-old Patti Smith fan, as it wasn't her best to be sure.
Show..!!! Very Good...!!!
Excelente!!!
I wouldn’t attempt to sing this iconic song if I had to read the lyrics from a piece of paper. I love Joan it’s the first time I’ve ever seen her struggle with the lyrics.
Joan did not struggle with the lyrics, only Patti Smith, even with a paper in her hand.
befu1000 I suggest you concentrate on Joan alone , she makes quite a few mistakes. Both are struggling
that is probably the reason u shitpost on utube and they still rock for decades
Those lyrics were meant to be sung with imperfections...and they are not singing this song to impress anyone, rather to inspire everyone.
@@julliegreenheck8452 👌
stille in mir,!!!!
Klasse wunderbar
Very hard to listen to but I am glad she is a survivor. I love her song Tresspasses
Dylan knows the text!
BELLE TUTTEE DUE ANCORA OGGI.A ME NON PIACCIONO LE PERFETTINE .
il video è su Agoravox Italia con il titolo "Patti Smith & Joan Baez le amiche" GRAZIE Doriana Goracci
Her hair my friend is blowing in the wind
And it's a deep and it's a deep and it's a deep sleep that's gonna fall...
A couple of aging Dylan groupies trading on past glories ?
It almost sad that Smith become almost an institution, I still remember her when she was fresh, young and utterly brilliant.
O la la les deux en même temps quelle chance 'je les adore manque plus que Bob
😍
questa canzone ha ub testo straodinario
"and Ill know my song well before I start singing"
Dont you understand? Patti reads the lyrics as a performance act not because she doesnt knows the lyrics.
This is Dylans and Smiths planning.
Of course it is, not. Joan had no use for the papers whatsoever
Very improvised ...!
