Nice this video sort of unlocked a childhood memory for me because my childhood middle school in the town I live in had four of these fans; there were two classrooms in the 7th/8th-grade wings of the building. There were two white Hampton Bay Industrials in each of the two classrooms. If I recall correctly, in one of the classrooms, the fans were installed in sort of an odd manner with their downrods going through the ceiling as there was a small hole where the downrod is instead of the canopy being flush with the ceiling. In my last year of middle school in 2019, one of the classrooms was unused and was being used for storage whereas the other one got turned into a cardio room and had treadmills, weights and other things. Unfortunately, one of the fans in the cardio room at some point kicked the bucket and stopped working. I haven't been inside the middle school since 2019, so I don't know if the fans are still there, but I wouldn't be surprised if they still are.
In addition, I remember having a weird dream a long time ago where I was in a large classroom and there were like TWENTY white Hampton Bay Industrials; there was one over each desk. In addition, there was one more black or brown one in the classroom's storage closet, and it was running on high speed. Oddly enough, I think I was getting my school photo taken in that closet. 😂 What an interesting ceiling fan install that would be!
Thank you for the detailed review, and high quality video. I have two 25 year old Hampton Bay fans, which I need to replace. They are on 48" downrods. Since this is also a Hampton Bay fan, do you think the existing downrods will work with this fan? I read that this fan's wiring can only accommodate up to an 18" rod. Do you think I should pick a different fan, or do you think my electrician should be able to make it work with the longer downrod? Thank you!
A lighting dimmer switch is not compatible with ceiling fan motors and can cause the motor to fail. Variable speed fan rated controls are readily available that will have the same function as a lighting dimmer switch.
I definitely remember seeing these on display at Home Depot and boxes in stock in the early 2000s. The old swim club in my neighborhood used to have one of these in the clubhouse.
@@charlesebding4825 And this swim club I’m talking about also used to have 2 other fans in the clubhouse, a 2nd one in the main area and another in the office, not sure what they were though. Unfortunately, it closed in 2014 after going bankrupt, experienced an arson fire in 2016 (also had one previously in 2000) and a few years ago, everything was demolished and now a large group home has been built on the property.
@@IceTheFanDude Yes that’s it! Well 2013 was the final summer season they were in business, but it was announced in the spring of 2014 that they couldn’t afford to reopen for the season, and obviously never did afterwards.

As long as the existing downrods are 3/4" pipe size diameter (approx 1-1/8" actual diameter), they should work.
Thanks!@@thefandude21
Is the wall mount remote required or can you use the existing dimmer or switch?

A local swim club by me had one of these industrials in the snack bar, and 6 craftmades in the covered area.
