He’s so incredible. Hate that he died. Especially in my hometown. Funny story, I found out about Jeff Buckley through a guy I was dating at the time who was friends with him, and he mentioned that he lived in Memphis. So, I started looking for his house all over Memphis. I couldn’t find it. Right when I was about to give up, I noticed a white and blue abandoned house down the street from my apartment. Strange thing about that house, whenever I go for a walk and pass that house, I always felt a certain energy or something familiar coming from it. I remember when I stopped, and I kept staring at it and looked at the address that was listed as his old house on my cell and I kid you not, THAT was his house lol I felt so stupid driving around for that long but was thrilled that I lived down the street from a legend!

I’ve never really listened to anything of Jeff Buckley before, looks like I should! He’s pretty amazing, now I see why Lolli likes him; interesting that you cited Lolli for a similar vibrato technique, I’ve always thought her vocal style was fairly unique. It’s great to find new artists, and I must congratulate you for your amazing analysis and information about what he’s doing. I think that you and Lolli should collaborate on a reaction, it would be mega entertaining, interesting and informative. 🌹
Edit: I know that you’re probably not much interested in guitars but Jeff and the other guitarist are demonstrating how flexible in use a Telecaster is, I use mine from anything from Jazz (Al di Meola style) to Heavy rock verging on Metal - they’re the Swiss army knife of guitars!

My favourite version of that song is from his "Mystery White Boy" album. There's a high note towards the end that I'm pretty certain pierces space and time, leading the listener to some other dimension where the laws of physics differ from our own..... at least, that's the only explanation I've thus far been able to come up with to explain such a note.

I very much enjoyed your analysis, found it penetrating and illuminating. I've loved his music since I first heard it about 30 years ago, so now know it like the back of my hand. I'm super impressed by your observation that he lets his evolving emotional journey fully inform his performance. It is a kind of highly skilled abandon/confidence I've only really seen elsewhere in Nina Simone's performing abilities, and perhaps, with more deliberate planning, in Thom Yorke.
If you want to look at a very different Buckley performance, perhaps check out the remastered recording of his live version of Dido's Lament. Apparently, he had intended to sing a German Lieder, but decided on Dido's Lament last minute. I'm not sure if he had any rehearsal time at all.

LISTEN TO EVERY JEFF BUCKLEY SONG. His album Grace was written in his early twenties and is one of the best albums ever composed in my opinion. There’s also never been a voice like his. A lot of Eastern/Indian influence in his music, by design. His live album “Live at Siné” shows more of his experimental techniques as well as some beautiful classic covers of Bob Dylan and others.

Hello Anna. I've watched dozens of reaction videos by Charismatic Voice and Daily Doug, I've had fun and learned a lot. Then last week, I saw you on RUclips for the first time. And I became a big fan of yours, and I'm recommending you to my friends.🍀 I've watched many of your reaction videos, including those for Şebnem Ferah, Cem Adrian, AC/DC, and Pantera. Since Finnish and Turkish are from the same language group, your Turkish pronunciations are mostly correct (except for Cem, which is pronounced like "gem" in English 😊).
Anyway, I don't want to go on too long. I recommend Hayko Cepkin's song "Aşk Kitabı." It will be very entertaining for you. (It can be the concert version, but in the video version, he does a duet with one of Turkey's most powerful female vocalists, Nilüfer. The choice is yours 😊).
By the way, in case you want to react to the song, I'm putting the lyrics translated into English below.
    Best wishes 😊

      Aşk Kitabı (Love Book)
      Please tell me, those who are in love;
Is separation a rule in the book of love?
Without even holding hands and laughing together
Is leaving a rule in the book of love?
My hopes have been shattered and ended.
My dreams have been destroyed and gone.
      This sorrow has consumed me.
I loved, I loved, look what I’ve become.
Every lover ends up in trouble in the end.
Where is the author of this book of love?
Is leaving a rule in the book of love
Just because a lover believed and loved deeply?
My hopes have been shattered and ended.
My dreams have been destroyed and gone.
      This sorrow has consumed me.
I loved, I loved, look what state I’m in.

Jeff is required listening if you are the least interested in the art of singing. He influenced a ton of contemporary artists, (most notably Thom Yorke of Radiohead). And you're right in your analysis - he had a super deep well of influences. There's Robert Plant, obviously, but he was also obsessed with the Pakistani artist Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Then on top of everything else, he was a musical genius who learnt new instruments by picking them up. Jeff's untimely death was a tragedy I still mourn. There's no telling what he could have done.
This is not one of his best live performances though. Ripping through a song cold, in a sterile tv studio never brought out the best in him.
