Subtitles worked fine for me!!! But even if they didn't, I agree with @tafinzer! Your language is beautiful to me and listening to you speak is like listening to music!
I find it interesting, even mesmerising in having no clue what is being said, but somehow also knowing the general gist what is being said by just going on tone and expression. Also your English is better than half the people who natively speak it.
Shinedown - Simple Man (Official Video) ((Its a cover song by Lynyrd Skynyrd )) ruclips.net/video/HbN99f9esS4/видео.html both bands are from the same town and are close
I have NEVER seen or met someone like myself who openly cries to beautiful music. I assumed there was something wrong with me when I cry to powerful emotional songs and there are hundreds of songs I have cried to due to their beauty ❤.
Oh wow, how did that not hear the unplugged version before ? Of course I knew the album version. It was on when I was a teenager all the time on the radio. Only later I got a better understanding of what the song (lyrics) actually meant. As a non-native English speaker I just enjoyed the tune. It was before internet was a thing so the story behind didn’t reach me at the time. Understanding now Jeremy took his life in class makes it gut wrenching and never as innocent as before. This version is vocally really interesting. Eddie takes it two or more giant steps beyond the album version. Get your tissues and emotional support cuddly toys ready.
As per my audience's request, I did a little background search with this song and oh boy. Reacting to this needed some emotional detachment work so I wouldn't break into pieces. Don't get me wrong, it will still be my authentic self but it gets very heavy for me if I don't prepare myself emotionally for at least some videos. :)
As a huge Pearl Jam fan, I've always appreciated Eddie's vocal prowess. But, it's great, for me at least, to see real experienced singers/vocal coaches explaining what an exceptional singer he is, in a way that your average listener would not be able to recognize or identify.
Was listening to Ten, Pearl Jam's first major studio album, the day my parents dropped me off at college. I didn't know anyone so I just played Ten over and over the whole evening in my dorm room. I got a chance to see them live in Charlotte a few years later and it was everything I thought it would be. One of my favorite bands from that period of my life.
I liked your reaction, I lived in Seattle in the 90's, and saw Pearl Jam many times, and Eddie never ceased to amaze me, he lived the music and that was his charm, every bone in his body conveyed his message. Every performance was different, which made me want to see them again
I think its time you delve into tne world of chris cornell. A great one to start with would be him and eddie doing hunger strike in a suoer group band from the 90s called temple of the dog.
Yes!!!! His vocals in this version may be the most amazing I have ever heard. There have been a few reactions to it, but none by any vocal coaches. I'm hoping for one some day.
I love watching Pearl Jam play live! Coincidentally, just the other day I bought tickets to see them in November. It's been far too long since I last went to a PJ concert, well over 10 years, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing them again.
I prefer MTV Unplugged version for Black but for Jeremy I prefer the studio version. But for MTV Unplugged version of Jeremy, I love to Dave Abbruzzese drum
I would like to recommend more bands and songs to add to the polls. First is MOTHER LOVE BONE - CHLOE DANCER/CROWN OF THORNS. This band was at the beginning off all grunge scene. Second band is JEFF BUCKLEY - GRACE live in the BBC late show this artist has a amazing voice and some good voice techniques in flipping his voice around. And thank you for all your great reviews Anna.
One of my favorite bands from my formative years reviewed by one of my favorite people. I usually save your videos for last, as I like to end my day with intelligence, beauty, meaning and enjoyment.
Eddie Vedder also performed several times at the Kennedy Center Honors. (These are five awards given annually to honor those who have contributed to the creative arts- typically to American culture. During these ceremonies, artistic peers and friends of the artists being honored perform/speak to the importance of the honoree's work). Eddie's live performance of "My City of Ruins" to honor Bruce Springsteen is truly beautiful. You may want to watch/react to Bruce's original before watching this one. Please check this out. Even if you choose not to do a reaction video to this, it is very emotional. Thank you. Love the reactions and insights you provide.
Thank you for your reaction. Jeremy is a sad but also great song. I come from a working class (but most astonishingly also liberal and humiterian) background and did not have to deal with the trials of a Jeremy or at least had means to deal with those problems. So to all parents out there: Take care of your kids or at least try, it's the only thing that'll remain when you are gone. Beyond that topic I have to say, that my favorite of Pearl Jam will always be "Do the evolution". Great song and video that precisely hit my anger. ;) Have a good weekend. :)
Besides Ed’s fantastic voice, he is a beautiful poet. He is a very thoughtful and empathetic man. He takes the music the band members write and writes the lyrics to all of their songs. He also helps out with some of the music sometimes, but he’s definitely the lyrics guy. Another great live PJ performance for you to check out is “Release” (Live from Holland in 1992.) I believe a fan recorded it from the audience, but it’s great quality. It’s the video with over 1M views (if you’re interested in reacting to it). 💜
@@annavaskelainen There is also another amazing live performance of “Release” from August 20, 2016 at Wrigley Field. It has 1.3M views if you search it. So you have 2 great performances from a 27 year old Ed and a 51 year old Ed. I think the newer version is more moving.
BEAUTIFUL REACTION ANNA!! THIS WHOLE PEARL JAM SESSION IS INCREDIBLE!! EDDIE MAKES YOU FEEL EVERY SINGLE WORD!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS AWESOME VIDEO!! YOUR AWESOME!! 😊 🩷 🤘 ✌️ 🌹
I sometimes wish I could experience this voice for the first time again. It was "Black", back in 92 and shortly after the record came out. The song hit me on different levels, but the voice ... I cried for the first time since childhood, in public at a club, working behind the bar. I just cried. No song until then or ever after hit me like that. And no other singer I'm sure could have evoked that. And what a long list of amazing songs they have published since then.
I recently discovered you and I must say you are very kind and respectful for giving the song space to breathe first and than analysing it afterwords not like the most of the people that are doing here what you do, they just pause all the time and it so fucking anoying 😀 also I like the way you explain things it indicates that you know what are you talking about and also the way you are expressing it it's very nice, I'm glad that you are doing another PJ video as I said before I'm new to your chanel and to be honest I searched on it to see if you have another PJ reaction and here we are now, life is weird huh.🤣Greetings from Macedonia. 🇲🇰 I also like to see you react on Ronnie James DIO the former singer of "Black Sabbath" and "Rainbow", the greatest metal voice in heavy metal history and father of the genre, song recommendation I have so many in my mind but for start u can get into - "Heaven and Hell" and "Children of the Sea" from Black Sabbath and "Stargazer" from Rainbow, I think you gon like it very much.😁 and you can thank me later 😛😀 just kidding. 🤣 Btw the lyrics are "Clearly I remember picking on the boy, seemed a harmless little fu*k" but Eddie censored himself because of the MTV and their rules and we can see clearly in his little smile that he hates it but also in the same time it amuses him for doing it and he is like "well it is what it is". 😂 The song takes its main inspiration from a newspaper article about a 15-year-old boy named Jeremy Wade Delle from Richardson Texas who was bullied alot in school and who shot himself in front of his teacher and his second-period English class of 30 students on the morning of January 8, 1991.
Greetings to Macedonia! Thank you for your kind feedback, it is truly appreciated! Anyway, know that I'm doing my best to respect the music and it's makers. 😊 It makes me very happy that you are sharing this musical journey with me! Thank you for the insight and your suggestions!

Please 🙏 continue the PJ exploration. Cheers …any/all of the mtv unplugged PJ songs are well worth your time.
Another fabulous reaction! I think I could just watch you watch Pearl Jam perform all the time lol Daughter is another great song by Pearl Jam (off a different album than Black and Jeremy)!
I really enjoy how you discuss musical pieces. For me, Pearl Jam is one of the greatest rock bands of all time and I’d put Eddie as one of the greatest front men. I’d highly recommend the opening and closing songs of the MTV unplugged. “Oceans” and “Porch”.
Another great reaction to a great song. I'm old enough to have bought the album "Ten" when it first came out, but somehow I missed this excellent unplugged "Jeremy" version until tonight. Thanks!
One of the best unplugged sessions back when MTV still played music. Go and watch the Nirvana unplugged session too. Saw Pearl Jam wayyyyyyyyyyyy back in 1995 - was a stunning show.

There are so many great performances from the 1992 MTV Unplugged with Pearl Jam. You should check out these other songs from the show. The opening number "Oceans". It's a love song that Eddie wrote about his surfboard & "State of Love & Trust".
Hi Anna, it is said he was sick on that day. Cold or tonsillitis, something like that. But he wanted to perform anyway. You can hear that some notes he pushed as best as he could, and kept it amazing still.
I think it's cute watching a woman as pretty as you fawn over Eddie. The rockstars get all the girls. ;). Your analysis is exceptional though. Really. You know your stuff.
Anna, you are just fantastic. So charismatic, thoughtful, knowledgable and wise. I thoroughly enjoy your passion, analysis and enjoyment of music. I also see your appreciation for Eddie and for PJ. I love when people share the deep sensations and emotions that come along with great music. It's more than just sound for our ears, it is food for our soul. Anna amazing reaction as always keep up the amazing work. Love you enjoy Pearl Jam an Eddie V. Be awesome for you to react to Porch front this mtv session. It's a another whole side of his singing

Another great reaction Anna! Thank you so much for all you do! May as well drop another suggestion while I’m here 😊 How about Ghosts That We Knew by Mumford & Sons, or Thick As Thieves by Natalie Merchant. Much love and thanks as always!!
My favorite of the MTV unplugged era was 10000 Maniacs unplugged. The song “Trouble Me” particularly. Natalie Merchant shows an extremely relaxed, effortless warm tone. Please check out their performance. Loving your reactions! I live in Michigan in a largely Finnish neighborhood that borders the Detroit Finnish Coop Summer Camp of which I too am a member!
I love this song for other vocal coaches to analyze….and their song BLACK. Another fairly recent one I’ve been watching is KASEY CHAMBERS-LOSE YOURSELF live at the Civic Theatre in Australia. Very unique voice. Your ears will love it. :)
Anna great job with your reaction and thoughts on this live performance of Jeremy from The MTV unplugged with Pearl Jam . This is a sad song about a true story of a Student who shot himself in front of his classroom . The band matter with the hat on does a great job with the backup Vocals.
Obviously live is better for analysis. Hope you check out the official music video on your own. That is beautiful and CHILLING in how well it covers the topic.
I treasure your unplugged reactions and to Pearl Jam! I wonder for this song if you would react to the music video in all its video story visual imagery story! 🎉 🎤 🎙 🎧 🥁 🔥
8:09 Here are some other GREAT storytelling songs I can think of offhand: Gordon Lightfoot - Canadian Railroad Trilogy dto. - The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald Kate Miller-Heidke - Sarah Rush - Red Barchetta (All of them arguably good reaction fodder, too.) Come to think of it, Al Stewart's "Lord Grenville" is another neat one... you may know "On the Border" (also a good candidate) and "Year of the Cat" from the same album. Folk and prog must be full of these. Speaking of which - Jon and Vangelis' "The Friends of Mr. Cairo" is a good one, too.

Pearl Jam basically shaped me mentally, especially since I listened to them when I was young. Eddie is a modern shaman.
City and Colour - Rain when I die. You will love it and your reaction to it would be amazing
Seconded. This is an amazing AIC cover.
You really need to watch the uncensored video to this song to appreciate the message they convey in this song.
I treasure your unplugged reactions and to Pearl Jam! I wonder for this song if you would react to the music video in all its video story visual imagery story! 🎉 🎤 🎙 🎧 🥁 🔥
I'm happy you like my content so much! I'll try and gather enough courage to face the music video too.
Please listen Say Hello 2 Heaven and Outshined!
8:09 Here are some other GREAT storytelling songs I can think of offhand:
Gordon Lightfoot - Canadian Railroad Trilogy
dto. - The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
Kate Miller-Heidke - Sarah
Rush - Red Barchetta
(All of them arguably good reaction fodder, too.)
Come to think of it, Al Stewart's "Lord Grenville" is another neat one... you may know "On the Border" (also a good candidate) and "Year of the Cat" from the same album. Folk and prog must be full of these. Speaking of which - Jon and Vangelis' "The Friends of Mr. Cairo" is a good one, too.
Porch from this show is INCREDIBLE
Vedder has such distinctive unique voice. I like some of his upbeat work like --Hard Sun-- cover
Sad song but a great song
Thank you for Cicciolina! haha... what a rush
Time for you to do "Alive"
Great Band! Fantastic performance!! (Probably the best MTV unplug ever except for Bjork maybe). Eddy is an exceptional rock vocalist.
Great reaction!!
Great breath control!
