An older girl back in the 80's told me after we agreed that Led Zeppelin was so great - "He's a gorgeous man". I got my long blonde hair a perm. Some girls in high school saw what I was going for and nicknamed me "Robert". Great memories.😊❤

I've now seen enough "vocal coaches" react to Robert Plant now. I know for a fact you're all very very good at what you do today (2024). But none of you recognize that this is 1973 and Robert never had a vocal coach. Everything you're talking about came to him naturally/soulfully. He likely had no "science" behind his ability, just pure heartfelt lyrics. :) One element of what made him & LZ the GOAT!!! Love your racts and look forward to more LZ reacts hopefully. :)

My opinion Robert Plant is the greatest singer, his amazing range tone & texture. He always uses his vocals to perfection, to suit so many genres of their music. I’ve loved this band for about 50 years, though I love all, Plants vocals always bring everything together.

I have seen many bands live including Led Zeppelin. On top of his unparalleled vocals, no one has the presence and performance command that Robert Plant has while on stage. It’s had to describe but just draws your eyes to where he is.

@@Tom33070 back in the day I saw quite a few concerts, sadly not Led Zeppelin, but watching these lives of concerts yes he does draw your attention. I was to young in their early days, the closest one later was Tampa in 77, still to young to drive & no rides with friends. That would have been a very short concert, I believe only 2 songs were played, then rained out. I’d have traded all my other concerts, just to see Led Zeppelin.

Hope you can find time to react to more of them. There is a video of them doing Stairway to Heaven from this same concert in 1973. Even though I'm sure you are familiar with this song, the live performance ad libs an extra several minutes to the song.

Well, I LOVE You. I'm a musician since 5 years old and play the same three instruments as my father did...he was a jazz/big band professional and played jazz clubs for 45 years. He was also a singer and so am I. I played in a couple rock bands long ago playing LOTS of Zeppelin and Queen, amongst other bands covers. I never saw your channel but have seen a few, " vocal coaches " review this song and by FAR you have nailed it and covered the actual valid, crucial points that make this song and Zep's live playing so good/great. You know music and music history and you understand things musically....Wow, impressive. I'm a subscriber now and nice to meet you. Keep going with Queen, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Jeff Beck, Eric Johnson, Deep Purple, Santana...Hiromi, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Classical music and on and on with whatever you like. All time favorite band. I think if you listen close to the studio albums you can hear a change in Robert's voice between LZ3 and HOTH, and after that point he never regains that sound he had on 1-3. However he still does amazing and wonderful things with his vocals on every album. And nobody, I mean nobody has ever recreated his vocal sound. I'm sure you can name a few who got close - but I have never heard anyone who could reproduce his original sound. It is the greatest rock vocal sound ever bar none.

By late 73 or early 74, Plant did have to get nodule surgery which can really impact someone’s voice. Along with singing sick, not warming up, smoking, constant overuse, it can really damage someone’s voice. Obviously still the golden god though. 🤘

Anna, I think from now on a performance should be measured by how many "Confused head scratches it gets"! This song and "In My Time of Dying", also live, are two of my very favorite LZ performances. They show off the band's talent in a way the more polished studio versions can't. In addition to your vocal coaching prowess you have a deep understanding of blues masters. I'm a big jazz and blues fan too, which is probably why I enjoy their influences so much in LZ music.
I read recently that 70% of music purchased is "old" rock instead of the latest song. It's easy to understand why when you look at these incredible concert videos. These classic rock bands from the 60's, 70's and some 80's are just playing at a level that isn't seen today. There's a commercialized sameness to today's music that gets very tedious if you grew up listening to the greats.

Love your references to, not only the contemporary Blues-influenced '60's/early '70s rock musicians like Janis & Jimi, but the older originators like Muddy & Screaming Jay ........ GO GIRL!!!!! -- & DON'T ignore bassist JPJ's contributions on keyboards
