Wow can we just appreciate the talent and skill Charlie wax Brad Have to do those trails at that speed on the first lap at that speed one mistake and miscalculation could end up in a Hugeee the highlight for was Charlie at 53:13 sketchy jib spot love it
welcome to my home town, Another great Vlog, there are heaps more awesome tracks withing 10k's around Nelson, plenty of choice for sure, but, Wairoa Gorge Bike Park that you feature here is probably the best, cheers. I'd be careful Matt Walker,, Bernard crashing into you and got bikes knotted, he loves a hard bit of wood 🤣 Just noticed you dont wear gloves BK, what grips do you use ????
Bk hit up codgers in Nelson. Or hit up slivan forest in Richmond. Up champion road 👌 and yess welcome to my home town! You won't be disappointed on the Nelson tracks
Holy shoot that was epic! So good to see a long LSD with a bunch of dudes in literal paradise just shredding & having fun! I've heard about this MTB bike park, but I've never seen it live, though i have seen photos of it.. Randomly, an old mate of mine from back in the day, who incidentally is also mates with the bloke who started VHS Velocity Hucking Systems chainslap tape, he actually helped package the first run randomly, during the first NZ lockdown. Anyway this mate of mine, coincidentally with the same last name, Kerr, he actually helped build it, the Maitai Gorge MTB Bike Park! I don't know how long he worked on it for, maybe he was on the build for half a year or maybe more. So I'd heard about this park, and i think the Billionaire guy isnt Rod Drury, but some US guy, who got NZ citizenship. I think he got some DOC funding too, as part of preserving the native bush. But I'd never seen the park itself, only my mates pics, from along the side of the hill, but a year or so after it was done cos we both moved away.. Btw if you like this one, you should check out a now famous track off the Old Ghost Road on the West Coast. Paparoa Track, or Paparoa Traverse i think its called. There is a Doco on RUclips about making the track, its just one track but its a pretty epic feat. 3 guys, made a track in 2 years i think kit took them, with a small digger, like one that plumbers use, & shovels, pick axes, & often using ropes too.. & they had to have all supplies dropped in by helicopter, some parts had to be detonated, but they had to preserve all the necessary trees where possible. It's a walking track, but its also been designed & built by MTBers, so it's all downhill, through alpine & into rainforest, & there's lots of features that can be tricked off, while still all looking natural. Again another one I've never ridden, but i saw the Doco & it looks absolutely amazing! Look into it, if you ask around people will know about it. It will look so sick on your LSDs & there's nothing else like it in the world. Get the boys on it for a session, it will look sick! Hope to see it! Peace :) PS: You should come up & check out Christchurch Adventure Park too, or go to Kaikoura for Middle Hill Bike Park. Kaikoura is an absolutely amazing part of the world where the mountains literally meet the sea. Anyway its good to see you branched out form Queenstown, as epic as Queenstown is, there's more to NZ than Queenstown haha!
I saw on the maps that you can go right at the bottom of Jim Finch, so I did... and I wouldn't recommend it .... unless the normal fire trail was on fire 😂 Another great video mate. Makes me wanna go riding 🤙
So anyone can ride at The Gorge. It's run by the Nelson Mountain bike club and has plenty of travel and shuttle packages. Just look it up and book your stay!
It's a problem when you have to fly from the south island (Queenstown) to the north island (Wellington) to get a flight back to the south island (Nelson).
Jesus how much work has gone into that place for it to get hardly ridden. All the tracks look super low traffic! Crazy. Was it paid builders or a huge love job?
Each Shuttle lap is 1000 meters down in Elevation. You will get in 5 runs on your $120. Money well spent..........Or you can rent that Hut they had and do it Again the next day.
I'm gonna say it.. If I'm hanging out with or going on a ride with a guy that intends to film it all and put it on his RUclips and then keeps telling me to stop swearing so he doesn't have to go to a lot of effort for HIS RUclips.. I'm prob gonna stop hanging out with or going on rides with that guy
Bernard the content is amazing.
Really going the extra yards for your fans. Thanks mate.
Those trails look awesome. Nothing like them in uk.
Where's Mister Ed???? 2/3 of the EWS World Champ teams on dream enduro tracks with Bernard. What a great LSD.
Just love riding at the Gorge, been there 4 years in a row and have never had wet conditions and phew what a place. Glad you enjoyed it Bernie.
Love the long vids movies if you wanna call it that so sick 😂
The trail that starts at 40:00 is unreal. The man hours that must have gone into building it are commendable.
Just watched. Nutz
