General bike park etiquette signs would be helpful. I remember noticing in the opening day video it was a little chaotic with people stopping in weird places (that’s also cuz opening day) but I think it would be helpful for the uninformed. Like the pre ride re ride and free ride and how to safely scout features, making it obvious that bikes have right of way on the trails that sorta thing. Or just release another trail etiquette video! Great video Seth
Agree to a point - couldn't help wincing at how many people were just mulling about in bad places in opening day videos - but I also have to wonder if those people would even bother reading signage.
@@etmccaus whistler is nice since theyre right under the fitz chair and very hard to miss, so perhaps on the uptrack when people are going slow and looking for distractions from the pain or excuses to take a quick break :P
I know it is overkill but I kinda expected to see an etiquette/rules plaque near the entrance to the trail. I ride in an area that is mostly enduro style trails and all the downhill trails are explicitly marked with rules reminders that are hard to miss. I know it's a high cost but I expect this park will see alot of newbies.
Imagine being at berm park alone. You stop for a second and leave your bike on the trail (horrible trail etiquette) and Seth out of all people fly’s down the trail and crashes because of you 😂😂😂

"These trails are not like sidewalks. Pedestrians DO NOT have the right of way." That, or something similar, probably needs to be signage for the uninitiated.
Yeah, it should be clarified to everyone even getting near the park that you're esentially walking on a road, not a sidewalk. If you're not being careful, you WILL get run over by someone who didn't notice you, that's true for both!
the signage wouldnt matter at all because people 1) dont pay attention or 2) dont think the rules apply to them. before i moved we had a pretty good local trail system in our state park. what they built with the elevation available ( not a hilly state) was pretty impressive we had jump lines and all that fun stuff. we have about 9 trails that are mtb only. there are big signs at the entrance of the trails saying no hiking, horseback, ect... mtb only. also on every exit there are two big red posts. one says one way, the other do not enter. i cant tell you how many times me or someone i know has almost hit someone alot of times coming up the wrong way. my friend actually plowed into a kid because they ignored clearly visual signage. the trails are very narrow and very hard to see far off friend came around a corner and a kid was standing on the downslope of a massive table top and couldnt see him till it was to late. parents were obviously furious. my friend apologized multiple times but said said its partially thier fault due to hiking on an mtb only trail and going the wrong way one a one way trail. dad was getting so hostile i actually had to step away and call a park ranger. even when the park ranger came and explained that we were in the right and it was their fault for not paying attention. they still sat there an argued with the ranger. they didnt care there were signs and they didnt care they were in the wrong. they were going to do what they wanted regardless of what signs or people told them. its not a signage issue.

im actually blown away and baffled that someone literally left their bike straight dab in the middle of the landing like that... The guy was geared up too. Even if you never been to a park before isn't it just common sense not to leave your bike in the middle of the trail let alone in the middle of a LANDING? You don't need to be a mountain biker to know that's not ok. It would be one thing if he was standing on the lip like that with his bike off the trail, saw you coming and got outa the way but to stand there like that and then jump at the last second just for you to land on his bike is insane lmfao.

Hey Seth, I've been watching the channel for many years, thanks for the great content. I've only been mountain biking around home in NE Florida for the last two years. I was working in Greenville SC a couple weeks ago and was able to visit Berm Park on a day off. The ride/mostly walk up was brutal for this Florida boy, but beautiful. Due to skill level, I only rode chain whip and high roller, really enjoyed high roller. My only comment is about bear country. A bit more signage that it is a bit more sketchy than beginner/intermediate. I was also talking to a guy at the top of the trails that on a previous trip had the same person stop on the top of a table top twice. All in all great trails and can't wait to make another visit. Keep up the great work.
When I started to ride trails here in the uk, first thing I learnt was that you keep it moving, don't stop of if you do, move out the way of other mtbers!! 👍😀
Can’t wait to make the trip Seth! We’re from North GA and are stoked to make the trip up to Asheville. Kanuga would be a cool stop too. Keep up the amazing quality vids.
Seth, You Sir, made this Awesomeness happen. I am a 52yo, immature at heart very average MTB rider in Australia, I hope to one day ride Berm Park. Thankyou for what you have single handedly done for MTB!
Interpretative signage on the beginner trails and trailhead would be awesome. Something like the PEEPS program for snowboard parks would be really beneficial. It's worth checking out their program
Great project Seth. I'm a long term trail builder at my local bike park too. It's also free and public. Me and a few others have spent years digging with just shovels and we do it all for free in our spare time. Nothing better than seeing your work pay off and people clearing jumps for the first time. I appreciate how long it takes to get a place like this riding good. Keep it up. Props from the UK 🤟
I thought the person on the step up was blurred out for another reason 😂 You really handle situations so well and I would bet a lot that you are the same guy when the camera turns off! Just very humble, truly helpful and considerate! ✌️ Look forward to your videos and the little short clips all the time. Just wish I lived closer to swing over to ride that park, we'll make it at some point.🚵♂️🤙
I love berm park I just came back from there today and have learned so much. It was my first time on a mtb at a mtb trail system/ jump line. I did all the jump lines except for roll the dice at berm park and cleared them all. Thank you so much Seth for making a dream come true for me. Can’t wait to come back and do roll the dice and try some of the trails on paper town. Again thank you for helping my dream becoming a reality even though we’ve never meet a you don’t even know who I am. You rock!!!🤘😎
I bet green kid 9:39 definitely learned not to stop on trails. Very good example, what to avoid and glad, nothing happened as far as I can tell. And nice, you talked to them not just about what not to do
We rode there today and it's an incredible place and mad props to Seth for pulling all this together. We drove 13 hours to ride it and left E bikes at rental house but saw multiple E bikes there.
If there was a fee for riding…JKW should only have to pay half -since he spends half of the time riding on one wheel!!! So cool to see you two ride together!
I will be there in July. I'm stoked, I started riding like 5-6 years ago because I saw your video about Virgina Beach Key and realized there was cool riding in FL. Now I've ridden in Arkansas, Colorado, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia.
Its good to see Seth back on the bike. This man was out of commission for a while and now he's back on the bike in time for the opening if his own park. He's living the life, I'd be riding and building trails everyday if I had my own park.
This'll be a great video for educating on etiquette and generally "being part of a community". Anyone in a leadership role at a public trail system is very familiar with these issues. Great video as always!
I'm coming up there next year. I got a good solid 29er hardtail with 130mm travel, and am practicing here in Miami which is totally different, but I think it's great practice. I'm super excited about doing a road trip to Asheville, doing a bunch of parks in the area and drinking loads of local brews at night (get up and shake off the hangover by hitting the trails again).
Perhaps you need some bike park etiquette signage. Simple stuff like who has the right of way, no stopping in the middle of the trail, don't leave your bike in the middle of the trail, avoid skidding, etc. Word of mouth is important in addition to this, but signage goes a long way as the primary safety.
At our local trails, a group of riders (including me) were riding a medium sized drop. One of the riders who went down the drop before wanted to watch everyone else do it, so he parked his bike perpendicular to the trail, on the trail, just past the drop and stood there with watching to see what would happen next.
9:31 Wow Seth, really well handled. I could see that going a lot worse. Glad everything worked out ok. Hopefully this is a good teaching moment for others in the future. Also at 9:41, that's a walmart bike if I've ever seen one. No way he should even be on this trail.
Wow thanks Seth for putting me in one of your videos it was great meeting you. Lol I didn't know you crashed into my friend Andrew that was his first day out there he's doing much better on the bike he's already clearing the doubles on high roller.
We have a black diamond trail here that starts off quite basic then gets steeper, it has some large jumps towards the bottom. There’s always people stopping at the jumps, walking on them, sessioning them to try clear them. It’s terrifying coming over a jump and seeing bikes and kids everywhere near the landing. I’ve stopped riding the trail on weekends as I can’t ride at any pace when I know the risks involved when the trails are busy. It’s also a shuttleable trail network via the train. So it encourages people to ride the trail who haven’t even touched a black diamond trail before.
I'm super excited to visit later this summer. I've been doing my best to get into shape and seeing this has been great motivation for me to keep pushing forward.
love being early to a video for once, especially since its midnight for me. Love to see how great the park ended up being, seems like a great way to spend a weekend.
Although it wasn’t the case in the situation. Standing at the top of the jump could me and there’s somebody hurt on the other side and they don’t want you to run into them. And being a public park up on a hill it could take a while to get help. Always ride each run like it’s your first
You're right. I should have stopped, and I would recommend anyone in that situation stop for their own safety and for others'. But in this situation, I looked up right after landing a jump at full speed, and didn't make the right decision. If your friend is injured on the trail, you should immediately run down the trail and wave your arms and yell (from the side) to warn others. I've had to do this before.
@@SethsBikeHacks I know this wasn't the case, but take that bike on the trail and place it upside down further up the trail where people can see it in time to stop. That's a universal sign of someone being hurt if I'm not mistaken. Every now and then, I'll stop to scout something get off my bike, take a few steps and then remember, get the bike off the trail. It's not that I have bad etiquette, it's just that sometimes I get hyper focused on something and temporarily forget that I didn't move the bike. It might have been extreme bad luck, he stopped for a bit and you snuck up on him. Or, maybe it was just bad etiquette. Let's all be safe. It's easier for the person stopped to get out of the way than for a rider to stop at full speed. So make the easy call and clear the trail.
@@dvs620 was just going to post this. if somebody is hurt in the trail that shouldn't be moved for fear of hurting them more, then place a bike upside down up the trail a few feet. would it have been safe to try to stop completely? Seth was going too fast and half the time he had to react he was in the air.
@@rcranes2227 There's so much more that it could be than what we saw. Maybe the guy tried to stop, bailed, the bike went over and he stood on the lip to just collect himself for a second and Seth comes flying by. I know when I've had to bail, I kind of just sit for a second, then get up and grab my bike. But I'm not at a bike park. Happened last week at a pump track. I bailed on a high banked berm. The next time, I had to bail again and was able to climb on top on the berm while my bike slid. Since no one was coming, I just sat on top, calmed myself down for a second because I was annoyed, then grabbed my bike and pulled it to the side. (Side note, I got in my head and kept coming into the berm low and hot and was getting spit out the top. I never did get through it.) Or, maybe the guy just left his bike there while he hung out doing whatever he was doing. Point is, we don't always know the reasons. For the most part, be mindful of others, stay off trail if you're looking at a feature first. If you crash/bail and are able to move quickly off the trail, do so. But don't always assume it's bad etiquette.
I would say there's very few excuses for being unhurt and not clearing the trail absolutely immediately. especially in a bike park, especially after a blind turn and especially after a section where a good portion of the approach has a rider in the air (where they can't do anything). I don't really care if somebody is gathering themselves after bailing, that was extremely dangerous what they did. I paused the image and the bike is pretty darn entry level. so I'm sure they didn't know better and now they do. but I am reticent to comment here and say "if you bail and need to gather yourself it's ok to leave your bike on a landing." Just assume there's somebody barreling behind you and move out of the way accordingly, is my motto. ok, that's probably not my motto but I think it's a good way to go.
Maybe on the trails there could be signs like "do not stop" for newbies and remove crashes from the trail etc. Seems obvious, but for new people, not so much. Rules sign in funky color or bullet point signage. Excited to get started
Seth, if u place a QR code (leading to a donation page) on all the signage in the park it would be a great way to raise funds to maintain the trails...of course u would want to disclose what the QR code is for. But I think it could be beneficial to keep the park funded.
Jeff seems like the kind of guy who would see a small rock in an otherwise flat parking lot or trail and will 100% try to boost it. I know because I am that guy. Jump everything.
A buddy from PulpMx Nation told me about this place this last summer. I already had a big trip to the Motocross Des Nations last month. This next summer I'm definitely going to try and make the trip from Cookeville Tennessee. I've only been once it was at Snowshoe WV and I loved it, with my moto background I'm hooked. Being that I have family in Asheville plus BP is a fo sho in '23 😍
it's awesome to see how well you've done here. i suggest a sign for the newbs. adopt snow terrain park style rules like stay to the side of the trails when resting and never stop under a jump. whatever else makes sense for safety. God bless!
You should do more videos like this, just riding with people on trails, the highly produced videos are great, but just seeing you ride trails is great. Also berm park looks amazing, need to get out there some time, *only* a 12H drive from where I’m at lol.
Best my friend keep going like this support from me only love and happiness to all people and never give up i wish the best to all people we love you mr Seth !!
Hey Seth!! So I had the chance to travel from Atlanta to hit Berm Park this weekend. First I would like to say that NC is way steeper than N. GA. We'll just say that my lungs were on fire on the way up. =) In the end I thought the trip to Berm Park was well worth it. GA doesn't have the speed or elevation that NC has. I will need to come back so I can spend a few days Berm Park so I can ride the lines a little cleaner. Also, you should talk to Howard over at Philly Italian.. He pitched me a video on how he can become RUclips famous. Its pretty sketchy though. lol. Thanks for all that you do for the MTB Community
Thanks for the park Seth. I rode there today on my ibis ripmo and had so much fun, although I did bust my butt on high roller on my last lap. Had a blast!
This looks like so much fun! I currently ride bmx and dirt bikes but this really has my thinking about moving over from my bmx to a mtb. It’s kind of a little bit of both my hobbies combined!
Everytime I see these videos, I just wanna ride! Can’t wait to make it here one day. What an amazing and awesome addition for all of the mountain biking community and people in that area. You should be mayor now 😂👍
Knowing that this all started by someone creating a RUclips channel and a lot of hard work is incredibly inspiring to me. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!! 🚵♀️
hey seth, love your channel, did you ever thought of making a tutorial series for jumping, bailing, how to learn to maneover your bike in the air for damage control?
I made it out to Berm Park on a Tue (after driving for a week and half from Santa Rosa, CA). there were only 3 other people on the park. it just rained the day before so it was a little muddy. I had to ride it after traveling so far. It was a blast. I must recommend anyone after riding take a right out of the parking lot and drive 10 minutes to Dr Brown's BBQ. excellent family owned BBQ joint and great food and cheap prices.

Such an amazing accomplishment. Well done Seth. Also, well done to all those who participated in making it happen.
This'll be a great video for educating on etiquette and generally "being part of a community". Anyone in a leadership role at a public trail system is very familiar with these issues. Great video as always!
Wow!!! I just remembered about this channel what a journey you've come
10:05 homie still has the packaging on his rear axle/QR 😂
This is amazing, I gotta visit Berm Park. Definitely on my bucket list
Awesome to see you ride with JKW. We need a Bellingham trip next!
I just had my heart broken but your videos always make smile.
9:31 Wow Seth, really well handled. I could see that going a lot worse. Glad everything worked out ok. Hopefully this is a good teaching moment for others in the future.
Also at 9:41, that's a walmart bike if I've ever seen one. No way he should even be on this trail.
if i was the one standing ontop of the jump and out of all people THE OWNER comes up and i cause them to crash, i would crap my pants 900 times.
If I was in that situation I would have just bailed and go over my bars XD
its a free accessible park it's what Walmart bikes were almost made for, ie getting people into MTB, few people will buy an expensive bike first
Tell that to sam with his free bikes…
@@eartharrow6772 Absolutely go check out the park. Stay off the black diamond trail though if you aren't going to ride it.
Love from Nepal 🇳🇵
Watching you ride this place puts "Woohoo" by the 5,6,7,8,s into my head.
Fellow Bellingham rider here, stoked to see Jeff in this one!!
I'm super excited to visit later this summer. I've been doing my best to get into shape and seeing this has been great motivation for me to keep pushing forward.
It's a scam
love being early to a video for once, especially since its midnight for me. Love to see how great the park ended up being, seems like a great way to spend a weekend.
Just a completely unplanned collab.. love it
Although it wasn’t the case in the situation.
I never did get through it.)
Or, maybe the guy just left his bike there while he hung out doing whatever he was doing.
I paused the image and the bike is pretty darn entry level. so I'm sure they didn't know better and now they do. but I am reticent to comment here and say "if you bail and need to gather yourself it's ok to leave your bike on a landing."
Just assume there's somebody barreling behind you and move out of the way accordingly, is my motto.
ok, that's probably not my motto but I think it's a good way to go.
Jeff is always best viewed on someone else’s camera! His view on the park are enlightening
todays a good day! got a new bike and Seth uploaded
So much fun...keep up the great and inspiring work...
Loved this, thanks for all thee great content! Just started riding last year at 30yr and can't wait to get out there and send some jumps
Jeffs riding is poetry in motion.
Being that I have family in Asheville plus BP is a fo sho in '23 😍
Let's GO! Now that this has been completed and is running smoothly, what other big projects do you see happening this year?
Great content Seth!
it's awesome to see how well you've done here. i suggest a sign for the newbs. adopt snow terrain park style rules like stay to the side of the trails when resting and never stop under a jump. whatever else makes sense for safety. God bless!
That guy has great camera personality. If he doesn't have a YT channel everyone is missing out.
He does actually, it’s called Jeff Kendall-Weed
You should do more videos like this, just riding with people on trails, the highly produced videos are great, but just seeing you ride trails is great.
Also berm park looks amazing, need to get out there some time, *only* a 12H drive from where I’m at lol.
Best my friend keep going like this support from me only love and happiness to all people and never give up i wish the best to all people we love you mr Seth !!
Maybe add a QR code link to bike park etiquette at the parking lot and trailhead. Good luck and all the best.
Careful, it's a scam!
Careful, it's a scam!
Thanks for the park Seth. I rode there today on my ibis ripmo and had so much fun, although I did bust my butt on high roller on my last lap. Had a blast!
Careful, it's a scam!
My two of my favorite MTB youtubers, Jeff is way underrated. The only missing in this video is THESINGLETRACKSAMPLER
Dang bear country may be my favorite. Looked awesome
Love the BMX style riding. My favorite. The style, and the big air…
Jeff is tremendously skilled. Literal goals.
I must have just missed you, this place was awesome!
I just started mountain biking. I wish I was closer to Berm Park because I would love to try it out. It looks like a great time.
You should be mayor now 😂👍
hey just a random question do you know how tall seth is?
@@ssnitchkeanu3050 he said in one of his videos that he’s 5’4 or 5’5 I believe. Regardless, he shreds and his channel is great
the world needs a Jeff KW vs Kyle video
Great job, Seth. Keep up the hard work.
Love watching jeff ride, so steezy 🤘
8:19 waiting for the matt Jones knock test
Seth!!! Just the video i've been waiting!!! (along with Kyle's) JKW on berm PEAK should happen and that would be the best thing!!!
Love your vids Seth keep it up
Knowing that this all started by someone creating a RUclips channel and a lot of hard work is incredibly inspiring to me. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!! 🚵♀️
My dream is to come here it’s so cool how much Seth cares about the community
Well done Seth! Looks fantastic!
very cool ! cant wait to come visit!!
Such a great project!!!
hey seth, love your channel, did you ever thought of making a tutorial series for jumping, bailing, how to learn to maneover your bike in the air for damage control?
I made it out to Berm Park on a Tue (after driving for a week and half from Santa Rosa, CA). there were only 3 other people on the park. it just rained the day before so it was a little muddy. I had to ride it after traveling so far. It was a blast.
I must recommend anyone after riding take a right out of the parking lot and drive 10 minutes to Dr Brown's BBQ. excellent family owned BBQ joint and great food and cheap prices.
Careful, it's a scam!

Wondering if you're ever going to do a throw back ride to Markham.
Highlight of my day right here
Damn, Jeff sure has a lot of great trail riding skills, I’ll definitely check his channel out.
This is the earliest I’ve ever been for a yt video, 40 secs
