Ride on brother, that's awesome man, I wish I could do that! Thank you for bringing us this great video it takes me back to my days riding!
Damn sorry to hear that bro. I totally relate. I’m a t10 complete from a jeep rollover in 2017. I started on a fuel, then upgraded to a liquid, then a remedy. Nothing was more freeing than flying down a trail on 2 wheels, wind in your hair/helmet and dirt in your teeth. Now I miss it just as much as I miss walking. I love the memories these vids bring back. I hope you still make the most of the life we have left & enjoy every day. Nothing but best wishes man.
I have a video idea for you: how to inspect a used bike before buying it. I'm interested in buying a used MTB but I really don't know the most important inspection items to make sure it's in good working order without spending a long time with the bike or being able to ride it hard on a trail.
ALWAYS check the frame for cracks, large dents or torsion affected carbon fibre. Check the wheel alignments and spoke tension all around each wheel Bring a chain checker to check the wear on the chain Inspect all cogs for wear (cassette and front cogs) Check forks by bouncing, is the pumping smooth or does it get stuck or release faster through one section of travel? If so, scrap it, good forks are so expensive to repair or replace. Check dropper post (if fitted) and ensure it slides well Check for traces of chain lube and fork grease and other lubes as if they are not present, and/or the chain is rusty, it is a sign of maltreatment and lack of car, so the bike will be compromised. Make sure that the pedals and steerer rotate freely, Test ride the bike and listen for noises from the BB when you crank the pedals. Any noises are a bad sign and good BB's are expensive to replace. Check all gears and brakes, listening for out of place noises, although, it is always a good idea to replace brakepads anyway just for safety's sake. Make sure the gear triggers, dropper post controls and brake leavers work well and are comfortable, although they can be changed and adjusted at little cost. Is the saddle comfortable as this will ruin your rides and saddles are not cheap. Check any carbon parts (cranks, handlebars, etc.) for cracks, dents or signs of stress from age or accidents. Carbon is expensive to replace and is not repairable. Are the tyres in good shape, look for tyre bead damage and is there good tread. Are the tyres well aligned. Misalignments is again a sign of bad treatment, although it is not hard to fix (deflate, reposition, and re-inflate). Check that all bolts are tight (bring tools) and that any pivots (full sus) work smoothly. Look for wear on parts like pedals and handlebar grips, although this should not be a deciding factor, as they can be replaced easily and cheaply, but should give you a good idea of the general condition and mileage/age of the bike in general. Finally check it is comfortable for you, and that you are happy with the brand and suspension type, and make sure that it really is the bike you want. Do full research on any bike type you look into, reading reviews and suchlike. After you have done this, and have bought a bike, take it IMMEDIATELY to a bike shop for a safety check before you ride it hard. Good luck!
I'd say jumping isn't my strength either, I'm more an xc guy, but Whistler has some great progression. I went from casing landings on Crank It Up to happily sending it down Dirt Merchant within about two days! And only crashed once, on that last tabletop on A-Line haha

Sergio Arvizu Crank It Up is pretty easy, I’ve been riding since September and rode it my first time a couple weeks ago. Awesome trail to start learning jumps on.
I just got into mountain biking to get in shape. Started with concrete trails and have started to dabble into off-road trails. Hopefully one day I’ll be in shape enough to take a trip to a park like this!
I went to Vancouver for a vacation back in June of 2017. The drive up to Whistler is stunning and there is nothing I could even come close to comparing it to. The mountains and cities its self are something unreal to someone coming from the flat Midwest. We ended up making the drive up twice.
I second this, I'm from AK, drove up from Seattle in the Fall - I firmly believe British Columbia in the Fall is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Driving through BC I experienced continual astonishment that the leaves on all the trees had such a vibrant shade of orange because it just doesn't look that way in the photos - and here in AK, when the leaves turn orange, they're more peach or salmon colored, and they are not bright, but rather dull and dreary. I've been to many places around the world but I never encountered a place I considered more stunning than Alaska until I drove through British Columbia.
@@YFZriderdude15 i agree. I may be biased, as i was born and raised in BC, but i truly believe its the one of the most beautiful places in the world. The oceans and the mountains, the forests and the valleys. The Spirit bears in the Great Bear Rainforest and the resident orca pods.
Where I live, in Australia NSW, my only options that I know of for major bike parks is the snowy mountains, in winter it's a snowboardering and skiing place. When the summer rolls around it apperently turns into a bike park. The blue mountains isn't really a bike park. It is a national park with bike trails, I heard there are a few.

Even as a complete mountain bike noob, I was able to ride at Whistler with a few pointers from my brother. It was an absolute blast and I wish I could go back!
@5:45 I love the fact that you say "....A-Line wont kill you" while you show a jump that literally almost killed me haha. Years ago I badly failed a whip, while racing down a line on that jump, got kicked over the side of the bike, totally shattered my helmet, got knocked out and ran over by another guy behind me. That was probably the worst concussion I ever had mountainbiking. Without that helmet my head would have been smashed like a watermelon dropped to concrete.
I was part of the crew that built the high speed gondola on Whistler. We would bring our bikes up on the truck and ride the runs down at the end of the workday. Now with all the bike trails, oo la la! And the only shocks we had were skiers legs. Good times.
I've fallen in snow enough to know its not really that soft, but something about not seeing any under the lift makes that chair ride look very uncomfortable.
@@mathieumansire372 ouch bro! Yeah I broke it riding in the street, doing stupid stunts like pulling wheelies and standing on the frame. Bike went on way and I went the other 😅 only 4 weeks in a cast, so not too long until I'm back riding. Good luck for your 2 months.

As an somewhat beginner rider, I can vouch the one time I went to whistler and did crank it up, it was amazing, by the end of the day I was able to get a decent amount of air on each jump.
I've been riding for many years and went to Whistler for the first time last year with plans to shred A-line - and I shredded Crank It Up instead. All the jumps on that trail are the same size as the one where I live, so I immediately felt comfortable. A-line, however, was absolutely terrifying. I think I did two or three runs on A-line and didn't even clear half the jumps. I was pretty underwhelmed with myself but at least I had fun on Crank It Up. Like, a lot of fun.
The sooner the better friend. I don't know where you live, but more and more are popping up in the states and I hear the uk has some pretty damn good ones like Farmer John's Bike Park which is rider owned and run.

Lmao imagine
thanks for the metric units seth, on behalf of many of your canadian viewers
And European Viewer too!

You mean the rest of the world?
Yukaira When in Rome...
Awesome review. Thanks Seth. The air time total was a first I've seen (I won't spoil the actual E.T. result for the ones reviewing comments before the vid hehe). Nice one!
I'm sure you get it all the time but I feel like you've become the Morgan Freeman of Mtbiking documentaries😂 great video!
Me watching Crank it Up: That seems easy
Seth reading my mind: You might get the Go Pro effect.
Sergio Arvizu Crank It Up is pretty easy, I’ve been riding since September and rode it my first time a couple weeks ago. Awesome trail to start learning jumps on.
Lenny Long I live in Arizona and been riding for about a year, i’ve never had a big mountain to go down, that’s why I was unsure.
wow, i can’t believe that this’s a year old already, time goes fast.
aidansmusic oh wow
Your comment is a year old now too
I just got into mountain biking to get in shape.
I Live In Vancouver And Would Run 99 North On My CF GSXR1000 😎😎😎
Where I live, in Australia NSW, my only options that I know of for major bike parks is the snowy mountains, in winter it's a snowboardering and skiing place. When the summer rolls around it apperently turns into a bike park.
The blue mountains isn't really a bike park. It is a national park with bike trails, I heard there are a few.
Seth I really enjoy your videos and have gained a lot of knowledge from them. Please keep putting out epic videos. Also, will you be attending Nemba Fest?
Garrett Holyfield I hope so but he lives in NC so probably not part of NEMBA
TheCrazy MTBiker Yeah good point, however he did go last year.
Where was he last year? Me and a buddy walked all around and never saw/heard anything about Seth (unfortunately). We did however run into Phil from Skills with Phil.
This looks like the most fun I'd ever have before a massive back injury.
The guy jumping on 9:10 would have resulted in some kind of spinectomy for me alone.
I just found my new favourite style of content. This is by far my favourite channel now
The weirdness of RUclips's algorithm strikes again! This video made me want to get a mountain bike.
You should get one tho
Watch his other Vids I got into it and it's soo much fun ngl
Then get one and join us for some adventures !
Did you get one?
This channel actually made me get into MTB. Now I have a $3,500 enduro bike
Is it just me or does everyone else watch the same new vid for a whole week until the next one comes out???
B.Alders 04 Same 😂
I binge the gadget and life hack vids
EvanStrang same tbh iv probs seen all of them like 3 times each 😂😂 If not more
me too
you's lot need to get out more...……………….. why tf would you repeatedly watch this? are you poor people with no bicycle?
Thank you for broadening my world. Cant wait to visit and ride those trails!!! Stay safe and well.
Here's why we're the 78%, it's not the quality of your video, it's that the algorithm sent a bunch of people who know nothing about BMX, let alone the parks!
*MTB
@@lyngerandenbrding7453 yeah, but considering bmx is an acronym for "bicycle motocross" anything similar to what a dirt bike does on ANY bike is considered bmx.
you're trash haha, you got me
@@lyngerandenbrding7453 Being trash is my sole evolutionary purpose :).
Nono his name is youre trash
The videos in our feeds are there to fill our time in between things, just cool videos about unique things. Great concept for video though :).
Even as a complete mountain bike noob, I was able to ride at Whistler with a few pointers from my brother. It was an absolute blast and I wish I could go back!
Wow, that place looks awesome!
Just break out your credit card and you can rent anything you need (except another 9 lives)
And then there was the guy that unfortunately lost his life this past season on A-LINE. RIP
@@RickyDownhillRDH really? Did not hear about it. Shit happens I guess. But lets be honest, there is worst ways to go.
I was part of the crew that built the high speed gondola on Whistler. We would bring our bikes up on the truck and ride the runs down at the end of the workday. Now with all the bike trails, oo la la! And the only shocks we had were skiers legs. Good times.
Ok Boomer
I've fallen in snow enough to know its not really that soft, but something about not seeing any under the lift makes that chair ride look very uncomfortable.
Just broke my arm :( sad I can't mtb. Thanks for cheering me up with a new vid!
you broke it while riding? I didnt seen a curb and broke myarm aswell , 2 month in cast good luck
@@Reidbrozek you too ! try to do wheelie stunnts on softer grounds , and I ll look for curbs more
rest. Supplements. Rehab when the time is right. You will be stronger then before!
I'm 23 and literally just learned to ride a bike confidently last year. Since learning it is 100% the funnest shit I have ever done, and I just ride a street bike in the city. These videos inspire me to learn how to mountain bike some day :)
I like C-more better than crank it up, bigger jumps, less braking bumps
Agreed... C-more is the perfect thing to do before A-line.
Bline.
Me: Too scared to ride my bike of the neighborhoods bump...
Them: 50 foot drop (ez dubz)
bruh, whoever your editor is, give him a raise!
I need to stop watching your videos. You make me want to MTB right now!
this was all brand new information and im glad to have found it!
I always go to Whistler in the winter for skiing but I've always wanted to go MTB at Whistler.
I’ve literally never gone bike riding in the woods but this is super interesting
Im from Vancouver Canada and Whistler is so sick. Its nice to know the American people appreciate us sometimes :)
Awesome video!
Why am I watching this I can't even ride a bike
Really???
h
Why?
Whistler is our second home! (okay maybe our first LOL) Best Trails Ever!!!
Will be my first summer here. Stoked to be riding these trails.
Wow the new bike looks so good! I stopped the video at least 3 times to look at it 😂👌
What is that frame?
Dirty Bike TV It’s the new Diamondback Mission Carbon! Looks great
@@joshallen6520 It does I thought it might be a Santa Cruz, thanks for the info.
Yep. Unfortunately I’m part of the majority that’s never been to a proper bike park. Hopefully that will change some day soon.
The sooner the better friend. I don't know where you live, but more and more are popping up in the states and I hear the uk has some pretty damn good ones like Farmer John's Bike Park which is rider owned and run.
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I live in Australia. There lots of trails to ride but hardly any downhill bike parks. I don’t mind but it would be nice to visit one someday. My dream would be to be able travel to Whistler.
Australian people own like all the British Columbia resorts =) and we all love Aussies. Move here on a working Visa. Be minimal, make friends, support each other and put your money to outdoor adventures here. I see it everyday. Bless
Move to BC for a couple years. SO many Canadians move to Australia, its the perfect switch up.
Ok, I may consider that. Thank you very much!
I will never be tired of watching this video.
My brain is automatically inserting the fist-bump sound effects during the video. Ahahahah.
Wow RUclips really recommended this while I’m in whistler, and the day I’m going to the bike park.
This is about my 1000th time watching this video in lockdown
Anyone else early scrolling through the comments while watching trying to think of something good for a comment like a joke XD
Keep up the good work seth btw
Yep
Me: *lives and rides in the netherlands*
RUclips during the corona time: wanna see a vid about whistler A-line?
Galaxy Plays same but in Scotland
I went to Vancouver to visit some family once and visited Whistler to see the sights. Bike trails and shops were everywhere and I can see why it’s so popular.
Bike Hack: use a pen grip as a lever grip or also known as sticky fingers. Use a air compressor or wd40 to slide it on to your brake lever!
You know it’s good when Seth does his classical HOO-HOO laugh
I was at Whistler for a week last December and all did the snow things. Never even heard about this. You'd think they'd promote this sport heavily off-season to keep you coming back all year long. A great place for everything outdoors whatever be your jam. Thanks for the showcase vid. Looks fun as hell.
What I took from this Video: Whistler is to Mountainbiking what thr Nürburgring is to motor racing
Elias Wernecke yup that’s about right
I love both racing AND MTB
