Im going to take your have a space for parts one step further. Im a car guy too, general will tinker with anything guy. So use cardboard on your parts station. First reason, i write on them with a sharpie, like for cars what cylinder parts are from, cncs where they are. Or other notes. Also spills/messes are no big deal you can toss the cardboard after if you want. Also smaller screws/bolts you can poke into thr cardboard. The other helpful thing is to place things on your parts station in the order you take them off. I didnt use a station like that for a very long time, but honestly keeping esp parts together and organized just makes everything easier. Also ziploc baggies, painters tape and a sharpie to write what it is can be very very helpful if you need to stop what your doing to work on something else.
drewpickard554, very good points brother! Your analogy related to car parts and keeping things organized is key.
You keep mentioning it's a mk2.
Looks more like a mk1
Bill, I can see how the video might make it seem that way. Either way, it will work for both my friend!
Hey Garrett, great video!
I'm waiting for the new anti backlash nuts from Sienci to arrive, along with the new Super Longboard controller, and that will be the perfect time to carry out all the necessary maintenance. I have a 30 x 30 Longmill MKII.
As usual, your presentation is thoughtful and informative, and you make a point to explain the why with the how for all of the steps you take. Great stuff!
Also, while I hadn't thought much about upgrading to a spindle, it's now in my mind - kinda dangerous for my pocket book! 🙂
I'll be checking out your upgrade video as well.
Thanks again!
garyhome7101, im glad to hear this video helped you out so much brother! It sounds like you have a whole host of upgrades coming down the pipeline. I am excited for you to get it all hooked up!
Another outstanding resource for LongMill users, Garrett. This will be one of my Go To support videos when maintenance time comes around. Also just received the upgraded anti- backlash nuts from Scienci so may use your invaluable instructions sooner. All the best and thanks for all you do.
carld4621, I am so glad to hear that brother!
Great resource! Thanks Garrett
marcuspedroza52, you are so welcome my friend.
Yet another great video Garrett!
AwesomeOpossumCrafters, glad to hear you liked this one brother.
nice video
darthvadar, thanks brother!
I just got a little CNC, I am learning a lot from your channel. Can you do a video on how you can figure out the proper settings like feed rate for your machine and bits? My little machine probably can't match any of the ones you have lol.
i_suck_at_this_game7601, I have just the video for this brother! Here is a link: ruclips.net/video/TFaLVQYKo3c/видео.htmlsi=_rTMbSG0LdVYtAnj
