Thanks Garret and Bill for this great data base , I ruined my Vectric 11 data base a few months ago, this will not only fix it but make it even better . Much appreciated Guys ! ! !👌
At LAST! You just increased your bits sales for sure. I was just now shopping for bits as a kit that had a database. I have most all of the bits that you sell and still have not got all the settings set up correctly for each of them. I had my finger on an order from somewhere else ONLY because they had a database that I could import into VCarve. YEY!
Thanks to Bill for work entering and to you for customizing database. My purchaser told me she ordered my IDC bit set yesterday. Downloaded Vetric Desktop trial and loaded database iaw your video. Relearning and deciding on projects. Once reaquainted with process I will purchase Vectric software, likely Desktop due to cost and size if my machine being a good match. Again Thanks for good video and work. Ms. KaDee
Ms. KaDee, you're so welcome my friend! It sounds like Desktop will be a good fit for you and your needs. I'm looking forward to getting your new bits out to you and seeing what you create with them!
It seems my proposed commitment to Vcarve Desktop was premature. I started a project late last night only to discover almost immediately that the spiral I needed to create is not included in Vcarve shapes and only Vcarve Pro will allow me to load something called a "Gadget" necessary to create a spiral on a flat board using a simple vbit. So I must wait to design my rotating spiral quasar for my box top project till I have the bucks for the Pro version or try and do it using some weird combo method of design software. While I could do it in a few minutes manually with a router and string the point was to design the whole box top and cut it out of walnut after I engrave my design using the cnc. Just my luck, like the first assembly language program I wrote years ago had to be real time and count clock cycles for a PDP11. Oh well. I still appreciate the bits and ill try to find a way to cut a spiral using vcarve desktop I downloaded by doing arc line segments or something. Ms. KaDee
This is amazing!... unfortunately I live in Africa and we use metric, but I have still downloaded the database, and I plan to still use it as a guideline for similar sized metric bits which I use... Keep up the good work... 🤘

( 11:26) Vectric WILL remember your Tool Data base view if you go to "Edit", "Options", and change the second two option to "Yes". Save the file , and when you open a new session, your tool data base will look expanded.
Thank you, Garrett, Bill and Roger. This is really great. I can see that the development of this database took a lot of time and work. I am finally going to do my first carve on my Onefinity that I purchased about 10 months ago later today. I can see that I will be purchasing additional bits as I move forward. Quick question, when you add more bits to the list how will we add them to our Vetric software? Will send out a new file and we will download everything again. I really appreciate everything that you do to help us. The RUclips training videos have been great!
Jim, right on brother! I am excited for you to make your first carve! When I add new bits to the software, you will need to download a new file and reupload it or you can add it manually with the help of this video. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/670Xzgf0LiA/видео.html

chrisbruckner1554, I'm glad you appreciate the content! Unfortunately, I don't have a specific video on that topic, but you might find helpful information in the Carbide Create forums or user guides. Sorry I cant help on this one brother.
Loved the video on the tool data base. You made it clear and simple to understand. Unfortunately, my issue came when I went to download the link. The message I received was that it wasn't an active page and the page became an ad for AWeber. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Alan, that's strange I will look into the download link on my end and see if there's anything going on. In the meantime, here's a link to download the database that shouldn't give you issues: www.idcwoodcraft.com/download/19136/?tmstv=1669568598.
Thank you Garrett ! I am new to CNC and your video's have helped me learn so much as I wait for my Onefinity to arrive. I am currious if you are planning on making more database's for softwood and MDF ?
Thank you for the kind compliments about the channel. The numbers I use are general numbers. They can be used pretty much for anything. You might need to adjust a bit. But I will not be expanding the database for other materials. At least not yet
Hello Garette, I was wondering if you are planning to add a drag knife bit selection to your tool database? Please thank Bill for me and I appreciate having this database. THANK YOU SIR!
Great Video, thanks to you I added the bits to my Vcarve Pro. I am waiting for my Long Mill 30 X 30 to be built and shipped, So I am watching your videos and "getting experience" making signs, trees of life, etc. Do I need to have the machine hooked up to populate the Machine tab in the Vcarve Pro program? If so how do I do it. Thanks,
Frank, I'm glad I could help! Hang in there, I know the wait is the hardest part my friend! Great question. No, you don't need to have the machine hooked up to populate the machine tab in Vcarve.
You have the greateat video such attetion to detail I have downloaded you database and noticed its for hardwood is there a database for softwoods such as pine cedar mdf i find that manufactures seem to be all over the map for feeds and speeds i realize that bits are more than likely setup for bigger cnc machines than the longmill Thanks for any help or push in right direction

Again, Great Video Garrett. Thank you!! The Download process worked perfectly and explaining it worked even better. IDC is now my go to bit Store. I am a vector guy like you and all your helps are great. Now, when you get the bits, you do not have, will you have a video explaining how to update the tool database? That would finish the whole process of being able to keep updated with IDC bits installed in VCarve. On a side note, I can't wait to receive my order so I can get started. I sent you a private email to you hoping you can check it out for me. Can you check on the status? Again, please keep the videos going. You help so many beginners like me. I can't thank you enough.
Hi Garrett, great idea but.....we need it in metric and for version 10.5 Vectric Aspire in your "Spare Time " of course cheers pete from Tasmania the little island under Australia
HI GARRETT! Thank you so much for being instrumental. You don't know how relieved I am that you are teaching this in such a way that it is invaluable. You & Bill have saved me tons of time with producing this very detailed tool database. 👍 Thank you and all who are helping us in this exciting field. Keep up the great work and look forward to learning more. THANKS!
Thanks for all this helpful information.....while I wait for my machine I am trying to devour as much VCarve Pro info as possible. I am having trouble finding ANY kind of tool database for toolpaths for Freud.....have you ran across this?
Jeremy, Cant help you much with Freud bits, although they do sell a nice set of router bits. The feeds and speeds that I include in this tool database will work for their bits too. All you need to do is make sure that the dimensions of the bits you have are the same. Don't want to use the feeds and speeds for a 1/4" end mill when you are using a 3/16" right! Haha
I like it!! Really nice not to have to enter every new bit, just buy and it’s already there. I thought of one question. If you change the speed and feed on a bit for a particular job, then the next time you pull up that bit, will it be the original settings or what it was set at for the previous job?
Thank you very much for the tool database and all your helpful videos. I will be purchasing my first bits from you today. In the video I didn't understand the Tool number issue. I have a NextWave HD510 with a water cooled spindle and need to know if I need to be concerned with the tool numbers. Should I just leave them as is or do I need to change them? Can you please help me with this question? Best regards, Ray
Reaton, You are so welcome my friend. No need to be concerned my friend. My database comes with tool numbers already preconfigured! If you have issues, reach out to NextWave and they will point you in the right direction.
thank you Garrett for all of your classes on cnc for beginners, i have learned so much in the last month my head is still spinning. i am trying to download you tool database and to no avail, first it wants me to install aweber, I did that, still can't download, do you have another way to download file? I bought a masuter pro a month ago before i saw your longmill, slapping myself. I am ordering a longmill tomorrow and selling my masuter pro, i don't like belts and your longmill is what i was looking for. i also ordered the beast endmill can't wait to try out.

Hi Garrett, Great website, great info for many CNC'ers. A quick question, because I work in mm, If I change the inch to mm in the tool database, will it auto change the relative info for mm users? Thank you for being thoughtful of others, by putting the tool database on your site for people like me.
Michael, this is a great question brother. There is likely a way that you can convert the data into mm but I have never done it myself! When I try it on my end, the settings don't switch over automatically so it may require a couple hoops to jump through to get it to work!
@@IDCWoodcraft Hi Garrett, Thank you for your reply, it's much appreciated. here's a question about a different subject. When I do a Vcare for example, Why is it that some of the lines only get a very faint carve line and not the same as the rest? How can I get a carve where all lines of the subject are say 2.4 mm deep? Do I use " Flat depth or do I leave it unchecked to get a certain depth of cut? I understand the material could be uneven, so I will do a quick surface, Do you think then, the carve depth will be the same? What determines the required depth of cut for any given project? Thank you, Garrett.
@@IDCWoodcraft Hi, Garrett, Please can you tell me, How to set up a drag bit? Do I adjust the tension on the actual bit? Also, what settings do I need in VCarve Pro when using the bit on Glass, Granite, Aluminium and acrylic? Thank you
@@IDCWoodcraft Hi Garrett, Thank you for your reply. I did actually reply before, but I'm not too sure if you have seen it yet. I did send you a message to your IDC Woodcraft store site, as it was the only way I could contact you, as I thought you probably wouldn't be looking on here too often. Thank you
Thank you so much for the great effort you are making in this channel!!!! Garrett. Is there are easy way to change (convert) from inches to millimeters ? in this great tools database ? Thank you Brother ..!!!!!
Hi Dalf. You will have to set your project to mm. There is not a fast way to change the bit sizes other than to create a new branch in the database with all new data.
I understand that feeds and speeds, etc. are based on hardwood and trim router. If I have a more powerful spindle, can those be adjusted / increased? Also, what about when using different materials? For example, if I am using the 1.5" surfacing bit to flatten my MDF spoil board...?
michaelbeckwith977, Yes, with a more powerful spindle, you can typically increase your feeds and speeds for better efficiency. When using different materials like MDF, you may need to adjust your settings to prevent burning or chipping. Start with conservative settings and gradually increase the speed and feed rate as needed, paying attention to the quality of the cut!
Big thanks to Bill and thanks to IDC for doing this !!

( 11:26) Vectric WILL remember your Tool Data base view if you go to "Edit", "Options", and change the second two option to "Yes". Save the file , and when you open a new session, your tool data base will look expanded.
Hey Mike. Thanks for the tip. I'll get her fixed. what would I do without you.
Yes sir this is a tremendous help you got it going on Garrett keep up the good work and I'll keep on building my arsenal of bits from your store . Thanks Again
dalemanley9662, glad to hear this one helped brother!
Hey Garrett! This is Fu from i2R . Great video!
Thanks Fu!
Fantastic! Great job all!!
Thanks Keith!
Is there a video you have about adding your database to the new carbide create version? Thank you for all you do for the CNC community!
chrisbruckner1554, I'm glad you appreciate the content! Unfortunately, I don't have a specific video on that topic, but you might find helpful information in the Carbide Create forums or user guides. Sorry I cant help on this one brother.
oh man this is awesome! thank you!
Dan, you bet brother!
Thanks so much for such an informative video, Garrett👍👍👍
Hi Comg...You're totally welcome!!
Again, another great video and database file. Have you considered publishing a short video on how to actually draw the bit in Vectric?
Hey Dan, just to clarify do you mean drawing a picture of the actual bit?
Thank you Garrett ! I am new to CNC and your video's have helped me learn so much as I wait for my Onefinity to arrive. I am currious if you are planning on making more database's for softwood and MDF ?
Thank you for the kind compliments about the channel. The numbers I use are general numbers. They can be used pretty much for anything. You might need to adjust a bit. But I will not be expanding the database for other materials. At least not yet
Thanks for sharing this file !!! A great feature.....
Thanks David
Nice video Good info and time saver Thank you
Hi Dale. thank you...and yes it is!
Thank you sir I needed a list.
DanielDulany, you are so welcome my friend.
Good of you to share something like this.
Thanks 8th
Hello Garette, I was wondering if you are planning to add a drag knife bit selection to your tool database? Please thank Bill for me and I appreciate having this database. THANK YOU SIR!
Dave, I do have the diamond engraver in there but not a drag knife yet! I will look into it my friend.
Great Video, thanks to you I added the bits to my Vcarve Pro.
I am waiting for my Long Mill 30 X 30 to be built and shipped,
So I am watching your videos and "getting experience" making
signs, trees of life, etc. Do I need to have the machine hooked up
to populate the Machine tab in the Vcarve Pro program? If so
how do I do it.
Thanks,
Frank, I'm glad I could help! Hang in there, I know the wait is the hardest part my friend! Great question. No, you don't need to have the machine hooked up to populate the machine tab in Vcarve.
as always, great stuff!!!!!
Patrick, thanks again!
You have the greateat video such attetion to detail
I have downloaded you database and noticed its for hardwood
is there a database for softwoods such as pine cedar mdf i find that manufactures seem to be all over the map for feeds and speeds i realize that bits are more than likely setup for bigger cnc machines than the longmill
Thanks for any help or push in right direction
wolfman1493, Thank you for the kind words! I have a video that should really help you with feeds and speeds. Here is a link: ruclips.net/video/TFaLVQYKo3c/видео.htmlsi=dV1MUH8-KqCtrUHI
Hi Max. We already connected with the email.
When I have updates to the list, I will announce it.
Can't wait to see what you start making!!!
This is really helpful!
Steve, glad this helped brother!
Excellent information
Stuart, glad to hear it brother!
Hi Garrett, great idea but.....we need it in metric and for version 10.5 Vectric Aspire in your "Spare Time " of course cheers pete from Tasmania the little island under Australia
Peter, sure thing brother. Thanks for the suggestion! Cheers!
THANKS!
LucyMollnar, you are so welcome! I am happy to hear that these videos have been making your journey into CNC a little bit easier.
Haha
Thank you Bill
I won't pass on the message to Bill!
Thank you so much! I love it.😁
All for you brother!
Great Video Garrett. Thanks for all this info. Do you have settings for the soft woods as well?
The settings in this table are general for most wood except extremely hard wood. It will work for most wood do you work with
Thank you easy peasy
SamSpace, you are so welcome brother!
Outstanding this is very useful!
Thanks Doug!
@@IDCWoodcraft Is the update availabel for download 🙂🙃
WOW! Thanks, very useful
Hey Ed...yup. I've been asked to have this so many times, it was inevitable to have it done.
I like it!! Really nice not to have to enter every new bit, just buy and it’s already there. I thought of one question. If you change the speed and feed on a bit for a particular job, then the next time you pull up that bit, will it be the original settings or what it was set at for the previous job?
Hey Bob, I'm glad you liked it! That's a great question. It should revert back to the original settings on your next job.
@@IDCWoodcraft Ok. Thought it would, but never hurts to ask. Thanks for the reply and great work on it from both of you guys!
If u change it from "edit" rather "select" on ur toolpath section it won't be changed forever. (it works for me)
Thank you very much for the tool database and all your helpful videos.
No problem brother, here's the link →www.idcwoodcraft.com/download/19136/?tmstv=1669568598. As for the videos, you're so welcome! I'm glad to be a part of your cnc journey and hopefully make things a little easier along the way!
You have to address me as William now 😉.
Bill is way above my learning curve 🙂.
Sir William...how's that.
@@IDCWoodcraft That, I deserve because of my status that God gave me when I was hatched from the golden egg. That's about as close to Immaculate Conception as anyone can get.
In short, I got laid. At least once, anyways.
Speaking of which, what's your status's with what's her name, the restaurant lady person who owns the 'Filthy Pig'? Or was it the 'Wormy Apple'? Or 'Garrett's Freeload Barn'?
Well, as usual, News at 11:00.

@@williamcovell6324 I'm dropping her. If she hasn't made a half an hour available by now, it's not worth my time.
@@IDCWoodcraft Good idea 💡.
Thank you
thanks so much for the info!!!
jeffnunnas1786, you are so welcome my friend.
Thank you sooooo much 🙏🙏🙏🙏....
You're totally welcome Prabh
Hi Garrett,I would like to know if you have any videos on gadgets in the vactor Vcarve software??? and how to use the box joint part??
Hi Dale. I do not have videos on any gadgets yet. Getting there
Garrett, I haven't seen any downloads for Materials, specifically Aluminum. Does the material selected adjust the speeds/feeds etc. of the tool?
Brian, great question brother. You'll have to adjust the feeds and speeds manually when you change the materials.
Thanks!!!!!
R Frissora, you are so welcome my friend.
Helpful, thanks,
Nature, you are so welcome.
Has the data base been updated and thank you for the instructions?
Jwar, yes the database is up to date!
@@IDCWoodcraft Thank you
I understand that feeds and speeds, etc. are based on hardwood and trim router.
@@IDCWoodcraft Thank you!
