Wow!!! Bobby Darin had it all..!! Style, charisma, talent, FUN!!! He liked to have fun!!! I adore Bobby Darin..from the first time Splish was released in Australia..then Mack..How dared he take on Louis" 'famous tune!!! And BEAT Armstrong!! Move over Sinatra...your "star"" was eclipsed by a far greater talent than you!! And..It STILL is!!! You always said you were going to be greater than Sinatra!! I like Sinatra..listen to a very early 78 of him doing My Shawl..beautiful..but no Darin!! Damn, I miss you, Bobby...I remember exactly where I was..and what I was doing when I heard on the radio that you were no longer with us!! The world stopped, then, Bobby..and it has been empty since then..in so many ways... Miss you, Bobby Darin..miss you....
THIS IS BRILLIANT BOBBY DARIN SWINGING LIKE ONLY HE CAN..... Bobby is the greatest entertainer this world has ever seen, there has never been anyone like him since, though some have tried.... I just love it when Bobby says, "1, 2, 3, 4, 168 and startin' now ", the impish look on his face as he hums, sings a few words of another song, hums again then says, "Well it an't Funny Valentine I can tell you that", then Bobby lets go with his awesome " MACK THE KNIFE " SENSATIONAL VOCALS, POWERFUL.... His impishness endeared him to millions across the world and to this day his die hard fans have never deserted him, his awesome talent has us hooked and his memory is forever etched in our minds..... Bobby gave us his all even in ill health till it hurt, he always gave us 1,000 percent each and every time and we his fans gave him back ten fold.... "Mack The Knife" is still my favourite song of Bobby's since 1959, I was seven. Bobby was a funny comic at times when he felt the need to lighten things for a laugh and from this clip you can not only see the delight but hear the wonderful response to his antics on stage..... Gosh we loved him then as we still do now today and are thankful to God for allowing us the privilege to witness such a precious talent as BOBBY DARIN... REST IN PEACE BOBBY FOR YOU DID YOUR PART IN LIFE PERFECTLY, WE LOVE YOU XO.
Hi Ediith!! I have been meaning to say hallo to you..I gather you are a fabulous die hard Bobby Darin fan!! I come across you, from time to time!!! I'm afraid I haven't seen this clip just yet!! Will do so.But, before, do you know (in case it isn't on this video) which video I can see where Bobby does what I cal his famous little ""4 step""..He used to do that from the very early days, to Mack, when he was singing ""Look Out Old Mackie Is Back!!""..right at that time! He does it in a clip where he is on the Jack Parnell (or Parnall) show in the U.K. but they do not show his feet..but you can tell by his movements that this is what he is doing!! I first saw it in the late 60's but he eventually took it out of his routine. You would love it, as it is the inimitable Bobby!!..To a "T"". I am sure you will see this, so if you can help me, and also let others enjoy it, do you know what video this is on, if it is still in existance!! I enjoy your comments. Cheers..Marilyn, (A lifelong Bobby Darin Diehard Fan, from Australia!!)
@TheChivalricAge, Thank you so very much for posting this as Bobby always seemed to have so much fun when he did these songs. No matter what the nay-sayers post this man was always excellent at what he did, and tried to draw the audience in to make them feel right at home. You really don't find singing like his too much any more.
His shifting to a folk sound was just him climbing out of the box others had put him in.(not the first time either) Had he lived longer there is no telling how many other "boxes" he would be put in only to climb out. I love his politically flavored music but he could sing any style and he would put his own stamp on it. A Genius. (and his politics were right on) Peace
@TheChivalricAge i found it on her and was able to downloaded it befor that person's account went under so i put it back on as it one of the best versions of mack going
i don't know, Paul!!! I would like to be perverse right to the end!! ""Mackie"" by the famous, wonderful Bobby D. seems fitting to me!!! I would, of course, have them pay tribute to my favourite man..
Bobby D was the man, nobody even came close......

this is the absolute best version of Bobby Darin singing "Mack the Knife." i know, i have gone thru the list. thank you so much for sharing it.
Love me some Bobby Darin. Never gets old.
One word: AWESOME!!! It may be more than 50 years old and in old, grainy black and white, but it loses NOTHING!!
This was my fathers favourite song and his coffin went down to this song playing .... very emotional.
Great singer and song.🌍👍🌍😘🌍🙏🌍🎼🌍🎉🌍💃🌍💯🌍🌟🌍👏🌍
Check out the conductor in the beginning. He is so entertained by Bobby Darin's unpredictable charm and swagger.

My favourite song!!!!
That's swing, man!!!

Weeeee... could it be, our boy's done somethin' rash!
Definitely a great song, but with it being about a murderer and all it wouldn't be a my first choice at a funeral...
i don't know, Paul!!! I would like to be perverse right to the end!! ""Mackie"" by the famous, wonderful Bobby D. seems fitting to me!!! I would, of course, have them pay tribute to my favourite man..
i like the brian setzer version, but this is goood too!
This is from the BBC concert aired in '67 isn't it? Where did you get the footage?
Great performance, lousy video. Best Darin "Mack" I've seen.
Sandra dee divorced bobby darin in 1967.
If you just got a better light time when I got successful results on the surgery on the heart and he would’ve survived to continue entertaining
That's not the point.
I wish just once he would have sung it straight instead of all that extra bs
