The way you two interact together is so honest and true. You can’t pay for that!! Takes me back to The happy times before my husband passed away. We were married for 33 years and watching you is like going down memory lane, not too mention humorous . It’s like coming home. Thank you so much. Enjoy one another 😍the joy and tears (good) you bring cannot be measured.
Yum! Letting the marshmallows soak in sour cream for a couple hours makes them even more amazing. Making the big box of jello with the 2 c of water makes the jello salad thicker when the fruit is added.
We have made the chicken sliders twice and they are a favorite! I'm a new subscriber but have loved your videos and recipes! We are in Texas. My husband and I have been together since I was a senior in high school so coming up on 24 years married and almost 30 years together! We have three girls and the oldest just started college this year and our youngest is in 4th grade! Keep going with the recipes, they are great!
Hi Y'all, I had my son (19y) make the Mississippi chicken in the instant pot, then we assembled together. We really loved these! Thanks for the recipe!
My grandma ALWAYS made homemade cranberry orange sauce. Everything from scratch back in that day and I carry on that tradition with it. Delicious video today Mandy!!❤🎉 I love the color of your lipstick 💄
We make the Mississippi recipe with chicken often. I don't make sliders but I serve them on French Rolls with white cheddar cheese and some of the juice for dunking. Pretty darned good!
Always measure fresh cracked pepper with my heart! Love it! As for sour cream--my Auntie Mame made a lovely fruit salad with Mandarin orange slices, fresh sliced strawberries, banana slices and pineapple tidbits. The dressing is 1 cup of sour cream, 2+ tablespoons of powdered sugar and vanilla to taste. Ever so tasty!
Yes. Pineapple is usually the culprit when jello doesn't set up correctly. You need to towel dry the pineapple after draining the juice. Yes, there is a white raspberry.
Tried all three instead of fish I used chicken and added chopped pecans to the toppings for the jello salad they were all delicious thanks keep them coming
Correct me if I am wrong but I believe Aldis sells a subdried tomato paste in a tube sorta like the basil, pesto or ginger they sell in the tube. One time I needed sundried tomatoes for a recipe but didnt have them and I had that tube so I used that to achieve the same flavor.
You had a Greek pita which is folded over exactly as you did it, Mandy!. Have you ever had a gyro (yeero) ? The Jello would have set up if you had used the 6 oz size with one cup each of hot water and cold. It's okay, you didn't know that wet heavy fruit requires more gelatine and less water. The instructions on the box are not for adding fruit or veggies. It is just to set the Jello.
Always makes my day to watch your videos, Mandy. ❤ These look so good! I don't know what's been taking me so long to make the Mississippi roast or chicken but these sliders are tempting me even more. The jello salad looks refreshing...jellied cranberry sauce for me! Must have the ridges from the can 😂. Love Steven's thought about food..." food has no chance around me" 🤣 I agree with him. Y'all have a great weekend.
I wanted to tell you. When I was watching this and you were talking about using sour cream, you were hesitant. It made me giggle. I was there in the past. My grandmother would make sour cream salad. One big container of sour cream, mini marshmallows, a can of pineapple tidbits (drained). Add some shredded coconut. I try it and see if I need more coconut or marshmallows. After all that is mixed together. Top with mandarin oranges. Let chill in the fridge. Sounds so weird but dang good!! We love it in our family!! Try it and see what you think!!
I gonna try this..that's look delicious..I try your 1 dish, the mashed potatoes casserole with chicken tenders..wow my hubby love it,thank you for sharing that wonderful recipes ☺️☺️
My heart measured ingredients are cheese and onions. The recipe will say a medium onion and I will put an entire large onion in. The recipe may ask for 3/4 of a bag of cheese, and I will put the entire bag of cheese, and maybe a little bit of a 2nd bag will be in the dish. 🌰 🧅 🧀
When making your berry jello salad try adding a package of Knox gelatin . The recipe I have uses 2 regular size boxes of raspberry jello and one envelope of Knox. I put a can of whole berry cranberry sauce in and 1 can of undrained crushed pineapple. This sets up very solid.
Everything looks yummy! When making a jello salad, if it calls for a large box and I can't find one, I always use 2 small boxes (large is 6 ozs and a small is 3 ozs)
Pineapple and other acidic ingredients will break gelatin down a bit so that's probably why the large box of Jello was called for. It would have set up more stable. ❤
Hi Mandy. Im not sure but I have heard never to cover jello with saran or anything cause it wont set. Hope this helps. Love u and your family and your channel. Have a blessed week.
Hi Mandy. Everything looks great! I’ve never tried the Mississippi roast with chicken. I almost commented about what you said about measuring the cheese.😂 I feel the same way. Thanks for sharing as always.🤗💕
You have to account for the natural juices in your fruits when you make jello salad. That is why it called for a large box (which are not always easy to find so next time use 2 of the regular size boxes) Basically you use 1/2 of the water that a large box calls for. So if you use 2 of the regular size boxes, use water as the recipe calls for. It looks yummy though
Swap the type of fish just for the halib it! Get it? Lol , anywho, I can’t wait to try those sliders Mandy. Not big on Jello, but, it certainly looked interesting. I make a cake that I swirl whole cranberry sauce in before baking. I do this by heating up cranberry sauce in a small saucepan. Turns to liquid and is so easy to incorporate into recipes. And although I use whole cranberry sauce for my cake, I am a JELLY girl too! And please tell Steven thank you for pronouncing my name so perfectly! You can’t believe how many things I get called. It’s not that hard right! Just love y’all!
We were always a Hellman's family until about 5 years ago after an 11 days running the generator 1/2 the day power outage (Hurricane) I threw out everything in the fridge just to be sure. When I went to Publix to restock they only had Duke's - we love mayo so I bought it and we have never looked back.
I make a blueberry salad with blueberry pie filling that is the same. (The large jello and two cups of water is correct.🙃) You add i/4 c. powdered sugar and 1/4 c. chopped pecans to the topping. Mmmmm----.
Oh yes cheese and garlic definitely, also vanilla. I always add more vanilla than a recipe calls for. Funny story about Parmesan cheese. My grandfather always sweet talked the servers at Olive Garden to leave the cheese grater on the table! Cheese is life! I just love your channel! Have a blessed weekend!
Sour cream is probably good. When u make ambrosia salad that’s what they use. I never knew until I decided to make it for a pot luck and was like sour cream are they sure?! Lol
Next time put the au jus in with the chicken just like you do with the pot roast. I know he already loved it without but you gotta try it! I made chicken sliders this way for my son's men's group and he said the reaction from all of them there was amazing. It happens every time I make them. Oh yeah, I use chicken breast and cook it in the Instant Pot. Also, put the peppers on the sandwich as well. Yummy! Now I want some...
I've made other slider recipes before and about 1/2 say cover with foil and the other half just go in the oven uncovered. What does covering the sliders for most of the time do???
There's white raspberries but I've never seen them as an option in a store... so yeah, it's weird that they put Red cuz, yeah. The white ones, if I understand it right, are more rare and harder to grow in bulk. /shrug That jello salad looks crazy good!
Fun recipes, unfortunately all are things my husband won't eat. That's why I enjoy cooking videos, fun to see other people eat good food. When my mom made fruit salads with that same topping she'd always refrigerate it overnight so that the marshmallows sort of melt and swell, mixing with the sour cream. Makes it so much fluffier.
I think you need another good tester your husband loves every meal you cook I have not seen say not one negative comment on any meal you cook he loves them all kinda unreliable but I do what and love the channel
Mandy, I don’t want to embarrass you or make you mad but…the words are “be able” not be avel. I used to say the same thing until my friends made fun of me. You go girl. Love your videos!!!
I already know, because I’ve made enough jello desserts in my time, that in desserts you use the x-large pkg of jello but only 1 cup of water, so that the jello is more concentrated..lol The regular box calls for the same 1 cup, because that’s just for regular jello, not concentrated jello like in the dessert.:) I had to laugh, you’ll get em’ next time girl! 👍🙏🏼🤘
we tried the mississippi chickens sliders they were so good!!!! Hey yall their is a couple that are alot like yall they even have a cat they feed and talk to ! Channel called roosters recipe
I'm asking y'all to please pray for my daughter-in-law and granddaughter. She's having a few health hiccups and was admitted to the hospital. She's due next month with our granddaughter. Thank you in advance. God Bless.
I've made this jello saiad for years and you do use the big box with less liquid because of the liquid in the canned fruits, it's a delicious salad I add chopped pecans to mine ppl always ask me to make it for get to gathers, the sliders look so good!
Great recipes as always! I have to say that Gracie Lou always puts a smile on my face! ❤ Also, my mom taught me to always measure cinnamon and vanilla with your heart. She also taught me to always use a heaping measuring cup for anything that calls for cocoa. And if a dish was savory it always started with onions or garlic, or both! My mom is an excellent cook and baker! She definitely gave me my love of cooking and baking!
Mandy, we make a raspberry jello with raspberries and we do the same topping: sour cream mixed with marshmallows that we set in the refrigerator overnight, or for a few hours, to help the marshmallows soften and then beat with a hand mixer until mostly smooth. We love the topping so much that we call it - medicine. 😀
Hello Mandy! I made the sliders and everyone raved about them! I tweaked your recipe just a touch....instead of melting extra butter in a small dish to add the dry ranch and parsley to, I just used the buttery liquid that the chicken cooked in. I also added a bit of crumbled bacon and some chives along with the Gouda in the sandwich. They were a big hit!
Big mistake with the pkg jello. You should have only used half cup of boiling and half cup of cold. The fruit and pineapple have extra liquid in them. That’s why it was a Lg box of jello with half the water! 🤣🤣🤣. I make this jello salad but instead of pineapple, I use unsweetened applesauce. And I use 1 small bag of frozen raspberries and 1 small bag of frozen mixed fruit. I’m going to try your topping though. I have only used cool whip. 💕🙏🙏
Mandy, because all you southerners love Duke Mayo. I tried it. I'm sorry to say I didn't care for it. I'm a northern girl and will stick with my Helmans Mayo. Sorry. Love your videos and make several of your recipes. Thank you
Love your videos!!! I’ve made the sliders before, just without the peppers and I add add a spoonful of the jellied cranberry sauce on top before I put the top buns on. It’s like Thanksgiving on a bun….so good. My husband and I are celebrating our 48th wedding anniversary today….and I’m so blessed to have him in my life….you guys are just too cute together.
I make that ello salad the only 2 things i leave out is the Cranberry Sauce and Crushed Pineapple as I hate both I put Cherry's and Blackberry's instead
The large box of Jell-O might’ve made that a little more firm maybe that’s why it was written that way looks good
Yes! A large box of jello with half of the recommended water will result in firmer jello that won't be watered down by the pineapple.
Yup! The large box and less water helps set it up better with all those goodies that are added to the jello 😊
I thought so too 😃
Exactly. Large packs of gelatin are hard to find in some places. If I see "large" box I just buy two small ones
And if you can’t find the large pack you can always use two small ones.
The way you two interact together is so honest and true. You can’t pay for that!! Takes me back to The happy times before my husband passed away. I've done the Mississippi roast recipe with chicken and a pork loin roast. It's always good. 😊 Jellied cranberry for me!
Yum!
Letting the marshmallows soak in sour cream for a couple hours makes them even more amazing.
Making the big box of jello with the 2 c of water makes the jello salad thicker when the fruit is added.

Cheese, garlic, onion, and heat..... measure with my heart always! Love y'all ❤
I make a jello salad similar and add the cranberry sauce before adding cold water. And then use a potato masher. It kind of melts.
I agree about the sun dried tomatoes. 9:23
The Mississippi recipe I follow uses au jus gravy mix too but that on sliders looks amazing!!!!
Whenever I get the notification for your video, its the highlight of my day!!!!

Mandy, im thinking the big box of jello was right. With the less water it would be stiffer with all the other wet ingredients in it.
These recipes sound delicious! Love the Mississippi Chicken sliders and Raspberry Jello dessert!
Always makes my day to watch your videos, Mandy. ❤ These look so good! I don't know what's been taking me so long to make the Mississippi roast or chicken but these sliders are tempting me even more. Love your videos and recipes. Cheese, garlic and peanut butter are what I measure with my heart.
My family recipe does that dessert but with celery and mayo and only the cranberry. It’s soo good
I wanted to tell you. When I was watching this and you were talking about using sour cream, you were hesitant. It made me giggle. I was there in the past.

Those sliders look yummy so does the jello salad. Yes we share veggie in our neighborhood. Enjoyed thanks for sharing. Hugs to all 🥰

Sour cream is probably good. When u make ambrosia salad that’s what they use. I never knew until I decided to make it for a pot luck and was like sour cream are they sure?! Lol
I love the jellied cranberry sauce
I'm making Mississippi Chicken in the Crockpot...great minds!!
There are also blackberries

Everything looks absolutely delicious ❤
You just made my day! 🎉

I'm watching you on TV and I may need a new prescription on my glasses because I didn't see anything
Looks delicious
I've never had Mississippi pot roast or chicken. I don't like cranberry sauce unless it's on a Thanksgiving sandwich.
Don’t be afraid of the sour cream, it is your friend in this dish
Yum all. 👍💞
Prolly would have been better to mix it in a deep bowl first LOL!
I'm asking y'all to please pray for my daughter-in-law and granddaughter. She's having a few health hiccups and was admitted to the hospital. She's due next month with our granddaughter. Thank you in advance. God Bless.

THANK YOU, Mandy for making and sharing my Mississippi Sliders recipe! And, I'm thrilled y'all like it so much. XOXO

My favorite Thanksgiving leftover is a roll with a little mayo, some turkey & jellied cranberry sauce topped with a super thin slice of onion. Yum!
Happy Anniversary 😊
And a thin bit of stuffing (slice)
I make that ello salad the only 2 things i leave out is the Cranberry Sauce and Crushed Pineapple as I hate both I put Cherry's and Blackberry's instead
I like jellied cranberry because that’s what I grew up with.
