So glad to see you back.
Same
huh I wonder where he went
DocterZoro he had a nasty cataract surgery
Dr. Lemonseed shame they didn’t skin him and turn them into boots
Bob. my grandfather used to soak his in mineral oil for 2 weeks then take his fingers and squeeze the excess out and hang them in the barn in the shade to dry. I still have a dozen or so that are over 40 years old and in perfect condition. The colors are brilliant and they are soft and pliable. Thom
Are the skins dried before soaking, or freshly fleshed out?
Do you soak em in salt-water solution first, or freshly fleshed?.
I just put 4 copperhead skins that where salt cured years ago into some mineral oil. Hope to get the ŕesults that your grandfather did.
@stevechance4422 did it work?
@@fmadriz1338 mine is probably going for a month strong in a jar of mineral oil and denatured alchohol. And at this point im too afraid to take em out.
Maybe use some of that snake skin to make an eyepatch for the right eye? I bet it’ll look really cool.
What coincidence! I was just telling my parents about how I missed seeing your videos, and a new one appears tonight! Excellent timing, friend, glad to see you back!
I was thinking of him last week. We must have the inside track of foresight. 🙂 👍
Lmao, just had to share how while watching my wife happened to walk in as you said, "you should have 4 skins in here, 4 sticks..." She made the nastiest look and said, "what the hell are you watching!?" Lol she heard that soooo wrong!
4skin 😍😍😍😍

Thank you, Mr. Hansler. Your presentations are very much appreciated. They take me to a world I wouldn't otherwise get to see. Great stuff! 👍
Glad to see you back hope your feeling better
I just picked a beautiful diamond back off the road in the mountains. Then the mission began and now I know what to do. I can't wait to show all the kids. Thank You mate...
I’m new to this channel and i’m living thousands of miles away, continents away even. You’re the first channel i’ve ever been deeply inspired by, where an appreciation goes beyond enjoying entertaining content.
True inspiration brother! To see a man never let anything slow him down. May The Lord Jehoshua bless you and yours!
Good to see you back brother! A damn good human right here folks!
Well about time I see the end of the process..lol. Been waiting awhile. But its all good. I've been patiently waiting for you to post a new video for awhile now. Glad to see you again!
Welcome back. Hope you are healthy.
My boyfriend gave me one of the skins he had aquired when he was clearing his yard of several large rattlesnakes. Only he had soaked them in motor oil. They were rather icky and a little smelly so i soaked them in a strong solution of tea that was cooked until the water was black. And a lot of salt. ( yeah, neither one of us was very certain of the proper way of tanning. But but did take the smell away). I cant remember what else i did but one i wa done and dried it it came out satisfactory enough to sew it to a piece of felt to hang on a wall. It was a pretty patterned skin. The diamond markings were heart shaped in the center of the skin. I will always remember him with love when i look at it. He died of lung cancer a year after he gave it to me. He was the love of my life.
Thanks for taking the time sharing your knowledge and a lil about yourself.
Be safe and take care
Great to see you Bob.
I found your channel tonight and I have to say it’s one of the most interesting things to see you forage and hunt, I live in Georgia and we have slim to none of what you have in Texas, very cool and keep up the great work

Nice Hat! Good to see you again, I've been focusing on other things and not visiting my old haunts like I used to.
This is so cool. As a foreigner I believe Texas is the most magical part of America.
arizona is very similar exept hotter and doesnt have beaches or alligators but it does haverattlesnakes
It's good to see you again.
What a fantastic presentation !!! I thought I was sitting in a University classroom . I learned so much.

Looks tasty 😺! Happy to see you again! Thank You for a real education.
This is the third time I’ve watched this episode. I love it! I remember each of these skins being procured. They must bring back incredible memories for you!
We live in the Texas panhandle over here at Flomot Texas. My dad, who passed 18 years ago, tanned snake hides. At one time, he had enough of them to make a 3 piece suit. I've got the vest he had made. I'm just now getting into this myself. Figured what the hell, after I killed 4 in one day outside the house. Killed another one that was trying to dry gulch me by sneeking up behind me the other day. I turned around and there he was about 5 feet from me slithering up. So far I now have 9 in the freezer. I appreciate your presentation. It was very educational, thx..
Glad you're back on YT. I don't tweet or facebook or any of that social media stuff, so I've missed you here. Your's was my favorite outdoorman's channel 'til you disappeared on me! Hope you post again soon. By the way, I bought your survival card and have already used some of the stuff on it.
Thank you, I live on a river bottom in East Texas a lot of snake mostly Copperheads and Cottonmouth i can't wait to try your method
Thanks for sharing Bob nice collection and one in particular cost you dearly ! Take care 👍🇬🇧

It would be great if you could share another adventure like you did with the wooded beardsmen in the future. Your place is always awesome to discover!

Appreciate the video. Good information
Hello from Lake Ozarks- thank you very much- I used your method on a copperhead skin- my first ever. Richard
Love you Bob. Love your video and the knowledge
Thank you, sir! Stay safe and healthy.
Cool video! Thank you.. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Yo Bob !! Good to see you !!!
Hat bands, belts, wallets, and hand bags are the more usual uses for snake skins that I grew up doing ....
Are they good for shoes?
@@alfredjudah24 as long as the snake's big enough I imagine they are, like snake skin boots....
Thank You, Mr. Hansler. I've had a snake in my freezer for no less that 3 yrs, I think it could be 5 or more. All the tanning stiff I found was a bit out of my price range when I first investigated how to do this. I couldn't get my hands on glycerin as you used, I had to get Simple cleansing water. I just took the skin out and it seems fine. No smell other than the rubbing alcohol.
Hey, Bob....great info in this. Had to come back and watch it again to get the amounts and the time. I was too busy chatting during the Premier. Crazy how much bigger your rattlers are than our Prairie Rattlers up here are. And we have ZERO Coral snakes.
Whoa!! Lol! 7 months!! wow...I missed that the first time through. Cheers!
Awesome informative vid! As a kid I just stretched and salted mine. It preserved them.....somewhat.
brother...so happy to see you back...hope you are doing good :)
Good to see you're back at it. Those skins would make a nice pair of Sunday boots
Thanks, can’t wait to try.
Yay you're back
Great video Bob
Awesome stuff man!
Awesome! Thanks for another informative video my friend! Hope you are doing well. We miss ya! South African Farmer

Learned a lot. Stay safe out there.
Awesome videos... I remember those snakes...been watching from the start. Glad to see you are doing better! Keep up the good work...
Just found you again....glad you are well Bob.
My dad and grandad were awesome like that invaluable education seen some low country south carolina rattlers deer hunting and logging always amazed me how big some could get
I love that calm, collected, satisfied smile you always got brother! Despite your hardships you still smile, enjoy, and love what you do in life!! Thanks, it's an inspiration!! 💯👏
Another useful and inspirational example demonstrating excellent skills. Should you decide to publish a book, put me down for one! Stay safe and well. Thanks.
I’m currently trying this right now, looking forward to see how this works out!
Wonderful tutorial. I remember the episode when you were bit by the rattler - very harrowing. You also mentioned a while back about making flour out of Yucca seeds. Would love to see how that is done as I cannot find Yucca flour anywhere.
See what I can do. Pods are developing now.
I am jealous of that sewing machine. That's really interesting stuff.
Thank you for some useful information. I am going to try this process on some catfish hides.
Tell me how it goes.
Thank you. I just killed a small copperhead and decided to try and dry and tan it myself to make a watchband. Your method seems much evolved!
Thx for the tips brother im gonna put them into use! Im in Dallas would luv to do a survival challenge with yall. Thx again luv ur videos!
Always like coming back and watching your videos. 😃
I’ve tanned a few roadkill rattlesnakes. Cool video, man

I love watching your video's
I like your commentary on everything so calm . No loud music in the background .
Will u do a video on presentation of skins after u have tanned them. Best methods for boarding them and making bands?
Awesome 👍
Great Video Bob. Always fantastic insight and knowledge.
Thanks, Bob! Another great video, and good to see you again. You are the World's example of a real Boy Scout!! Hope to see some more colab's with Wood Beard and Zack in the future.

Happy to see this
Excellent, just what I needed. Just got a nice diamond back and will do the same. Thank you!
Love that Hasler survival card!
That was a cool video young man!
I own and operate Broken Tine Skullworks in Three Rivers and have recently been inlaying rattlesnake skin into the cheeks of deer skulls. Looks really cool.
