- At least once a week we get a message asking us how we prepare our snakes for bows and leatherwork so Allison cleaned out our freezer and put a full video together. Its so simple to do with minimum tools. We always just tell people skin it and pint it. be sure to put your snakes in front of a decent fan to help keep bugs off of them and help them dry faster. Thanks for watching. You can find all of our products on Omnivoresquivers.com and be sure to subscribe and follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
Nice,😎👍 I've had a lot of fun with Rattlers in the Everglades. Loved scaring my dad with them. lol
Great video
Thanks for the video 👍 keep them coming
I use a string with a weight on it as a plumb bob to help keep the skin straight when I'm tacking them out.
thanks really enjoyed watching .
Excellent video!! The only thing I would say is the nonvenomous snake is a brown water snake and not a banded water snake. Very easy mistake to make.
I would love to buy some cotton mouth skin for my long bow but also would like rattlesnake
Fascinating , thanks for sharing , just one question if the skin gets wet after drying would it rot or do you have to preserve further . Say I tried to make a hat band how would I stop it rotting. Thanks jim. Ps love your channel
In my experience it just dries, as long as it’s not wet for a long time. But for a hat band I’d suggest treating it with a leather conditioner that way it’ll repel the water. That’s what we do with our tabs and I haven’t gotten any reports of the skin rotting. For a hat band I’d glue it to a strip of leather too.
@@OmnivoresHomesteadAndQuivers thanks for the advice , will have ago and if it works I'm going to look like crocodile Dundee on steroids. 🤣
An excellent making boot and shoes
lady very good video.
I have snake skin that is rolled up n dried, can I just soak them n pin them up ?
i have heard that washing with automotive antifreeze is a good preservitive. Apparently keeping them soft and flexible.
possibly. I've never tried it. We need them dry and stiff for our usage.
Bom trabalho 🛠️😅🐍✅👍🇧🇷 excelente trabalho 🛠️🐍💯👍couro lindo demais.
There's more than one way to skin a snake; that's what Grandpa used to say.
Do you sell rattlesnake skin for bow backing?
No we don’t. We use them all for all of our stuff
Do you sale these
First time. I am in the Philippines and am about to roll a 9ft Python on a stick. Question: after it dries (could be awhile!) How do I get the glycerine dried)removed enough to be able to glue it to leather to make something?
Pythons are much different than other snakes. You have to tan the skin like you would do a cow hide.
How skin anaconda to?
Please rubber apron!!
👍🏻
Go girl, not for the sqeamish!
This is sick
Inna good way
@monitorcrazy9639 😮😂😊 Nice, imo great phrasing I relate to & would use myself, but ppl get to confused & tangled up in modern warped morality standards.... We are all matter, cuz we all are matter, so let's all respect matter, cuz our voice & actions matter. 😊
