I’ve got a bow that I just sinew backed tonight, I’m gonna do a little touch up sinew work tomorrow and hopefully have skins on it by Monday. Thanks for the tips! Oh and I watched your sinew string video again thanks for the inspiration
Sinew backed bows work well in dry prairies mongolian steppes. How to use them in humid areas like Britain , the glue (made of animal skin) used to bond the sinew, wood & horn is water soluble. How to make sure your horn bow is usable in humid conditions?
Been a taxidermist for 30 plus years.i put copperhead skins that were in glycerin and alcohol for 7 years on my recurve with no problems at all after one year of rough hunting.its all about degreasing, cleaning and the type of glue you use.if this interests you contact me I be glad to tell you how it can be done successfully. Love your videos and content
I appreciate it. Since this video I have been using skins cured in glycerin as well. I just degrease them heavily and as you say, they work just fine. Thanks for checking in and wanting to share the tip
Hey Ryan. Been watching for a while now. Good stuff. I make my own arrows either spoon trade points because of your vids. I was on your website recently and saw a spelling error I would like you to know about. It was on one of your stone knife descriptions. Keep up the good work.
Bro I've lived in Ms, Ga, Fl, amd currently Utah ive been actively looking for rattle snakes since i was 7 and I'm going on 21 now. Ive only seen them hit on the road so theyre extremely rare to me 😂
I live in North Georgia and the creek in the woods behind my childhood home belonged to the 6 foot long copperheads every summer lol. Never seen a live rattlesnake though

Thanks for the knowledge. You very underrated good sir, i hope the channel can reach 100k subs this year.
Would the skin stick well to a fiberglass backed recure such as a bear grizzly ?
Does this backing add any durability to the bow or is it purely cosmetic?
Probably just for cosmetic

What is the withe thing in the bow ?
What paint do you use above the skins?
do you think it is bad for bow to wrap the snake skin all around the bow or this is just a cosmetic issue.
Outstanding job!
Amazing🤩🤩🤩
Just wondering.
Why not use an epoxy?
You can
I might've missed this in the video but is this done purely just for looks? Or does it have a function like sinew backing for example?

I was reading on tradbow forum said adding even snake skin will add some poundage to the bow !
