I'm still sad that we missed out on Ben Affleck's The Batman. A Batman movie that's Written & Directed by Batman himself, it doesn't get more perfect than that!
WB's decision making on the DCEU in a nutshell: "Hey, how about a Deathstroke movie from the guy who did the Raid movies? It's like Peanut Butter and Chocolate mixed together! It'll only take $40 million, too." "Nah, let's blow $70 million on a movie that bombed and lost us fans and credibility."
The most fascinating part to me is that despite everyone blaming Snyder for his darker vision, almost every other director/writer who left did so because WB wouldn't let them make a dark film. Ffs, even Ezra Miller and Grant Morrison made a darker Flash script... Should be proof enough that Snyder isn't the one who should take all the blame when 90% of the ones who left all felt DC should be darker regardless of who the project was about.

I don’t think WB was on the same page as Snyder that the dead Robin was Dick Grayson. I seem to recall some officials referring to the dead Robin as Jason, tho I wouldn’t be able to cite those instances off the top of my head But the fact that there was a Nightwing film on the slate I think is enough to indicate this- it’s unlikely Nightwing would be a film about resurrection, and it couldn’t really work as a prequel bc he should have died as a Robin not as Nightwing (if he was dead)
I'm vocal about how Snyder handled it his DCEU, some things i liked like Zod and others i hated like MARTHA, handling Dick Grayson dead instead of Jason irks me to no end. It's like that guy who is insistent on changing things not meant to be broken like Grayson should never not be outta Bruce's life, especially when tackling an older Batman. He needs him, he's his greatest success story and Jason is one of his biggest failures. Changing Todd to him seems like change for the sake. And i do remember SS film saying it was Jason Todd dead, but then Zack says it's Dick or was Dick in he original draft.
For as much as Snyder did well, he also needed to take his head of his own arse. His revision of DC would have been garbage. No one wants a dead Grayson.
If they had actually pushed forward with that, particularly if they legitimately tried to do Red Hood with Dick Grayson, whether he's using the Red Hood moniker or using Nightwing while acting like Red Hood the vitriol it would generate, between Nightwing fans who hate the way Dick is being so out of character, and Jason fans enraged that, 'cause Snyder had done Red Hood with Dick, we'd never get the real Red Hood.

Had they made Man of Steel 2 like originally planned I think that would have been good. Either before or after the Man of Steel sequel, there could have been a Batman film set in that universe as well, since it was established by that point Christian Bale wouldn’t play Bruce Wayne/Batman without Christopher Nolan as the director and Nolan is happy with how his trilogy turned out and that his trilogy is it’s own thing and he wanted to do other films after The Dark Knight Rises concluded his trilogy, then focus on other characters for the universe such as a Wonder Woman film, a Flash film, a Green Lantern film, an Aquaman film and then a Justice League film after all the major players had at least one film of their own before coming together at which point those characters could have their own franchises within a bigger franchise and Justice League could be the jumping off point for the Martian Manhunter, who could have been teased in earlier films in cameos as well as perhaps being like the Nick Fury character that brings them all together to form the Justice League rather than what we’ve got now which seems to have had all the essential characters basically introduced in the second film, even if many are in cameo form, just so they could compete with Marvel. It’s sad to think how this could have been a great franchise that could have rivaled the MCU and yet there wasn’t much of a solid foundation given in the first place regarding the direction the universe should go in. Many ideas, yet nobody was there to really be at the helm who had a firm established idea of how everything should be in a first wave of films to get to Justice League.
To this day i thank god they didn't make a movie where Deathstroke is Batman's life long nemesis. I dunno why Hollywood looks at Batman's legendary rogues gallery and goes "Let's use none of that and instead use this Teen Titans villain that none of the general public knows about, and better yet, let's make him a fundamental part of Batman's life" it would've made more sense if a Nightwing movie was made starring Deathstroke as the main antagonist than a Batman movie. Hollywood is and always will be ashamed of comic books, it doesn't matter how many millions of dollars it makes them. This would've been a bad movie, i don't care if Affleck's Hollywood buddies that know nothing of comics and are ashamed of them say on twitter "it would've been good! Pinky swear!"
@@williamdaviddiazcuchimaque7511 todo mundo que é fã de histórias em quadrinhos conhece o Deathstroke. Pessoas que só vêem filme de herói de vez em quando não sabe quem é mas nem de longe
They took the concept art from Ben Affleck's Batman movie and made it into Matt Reeves Batman suit, and the story was originally written before they went with Christian Bale's Batman, including the Batmobile design and the Batcave in the abandoned Wayne Subway tunnel but they skipped the elements that were based off of The Year One with him as a vigilante with a fake scar before the paint smear and even the final outfit that Selina Kyle is wearing it was the only other reference to Year One.
I personally love the direction Snyder took the DCEU and I wish we could have seen the whole thing play out the way it was intended to. I think Zack Snyder and David S. Goyer crafted the most interesting version of Superman we've ever had. They made him feel like a real guy and I think that should be the ultimate goal of any comic book adaptations. It was the perfect depiction of a real world Superman. Some people look at him like a god and basically worship him. Other people would fear or hate him just because he's different. They would want him gone just for the simple fact that he's an alien. I mean look how people treat other people just because they're a different race. Imagine how someone from an entirely different plant would be treated. No matter how much good he done, some people would never accept him... I just don't understand why people have such an issue with DC being gritty and dark? Since Marvel has a lock on the PG-13 format, why not let DC go full R rated? People can blow smoke up everyone's ass and say R rated movies wouldn't make as much money, but Joker and Deadpool proved that to be nonsense.
I don't know man, I feel that is better to adapt the comic book characters as they are in the comics. It is good to explore new topics with them and change some things. But you never should forget their essences and their substance. Superman is bright and colorful, full of hope, love, and silliness, these are things that we love of him. -Hey, Superman nice suit. -Thanks my mom made it for me. If you want some gritty, dark, heavy, and metal superhero you are free to watch The Boys, Invincible, Spawn, Hellboy, Watchmen, The Authority, and many of Dark Horse comics. Just remember that many of the best complex and realistic Superman stories have a colorful Superman full of hope and love: All-Star, What Happened to the Man of Tomorrow, Superman Peace on Earth, Superman vs The Elite, and DCAU Superman. All of them have adult and complex issues but have the correct tone for Superman. If you think that Snyder's Superman is better or more realistic than DCAU Superman, well I think that you don't know Superman at all.
I would have loved Ben Affleck's Batman movie. It's a shame it never got made but the ideas is something I would have loved infinitely more than Matt Reeves Batman movie. Not saying Reeves Batman movie is bad it's good I liked it.
I doubt that the dceu version of batman is stronger than the arkham batman. I played through four of the video games, and it would be impossible for any hand to hand fighters, brawlers, meta humans, aliens, and gods to take him down.
So many DCEU movies & others were financial successes but still “flopped” bc of some dumb bs. And scheduling conflicts shelve a movie of a universe? Then push it back a year & keep working on the story.
Even though it seemed promising, having Ben Affleck direct a Batman film felt like a pretty short-sighted choice. Cos it seems like his solo film would've been a one-and-done. Even if he'd have had an amazing time making Justice League it never felt like he was gonna direct more than one Batman film. He doesn't seem like a franchise director, and WB always want their Batman directors to make a bunch of films. Burton, Schumacher, Nolan and now Reeves. With Affleck it never felt like he had a big multi-film plan.
It’s a shame we’re stuck with James Gunn’s trash DCU now. It’s like multiple GotG movies with diminishing box office returns. It’s going to be like a kid in his sandbox doing whatever he wants and ignoring common sense. Kind of like say, not finishing Snyder’s universe and firing the best Superman. Even Affleck was disgusted in the direction everything was going and dipped out.
Apparently the best Superman is a Jesus figure that saves humanity because he has a human girlfriend.Just because Cavill was done dirty it doesn't mean that the material Snyder put wasn't awful.
😂0:07 really? You could’ve use a actual picture of Walter Hamada instead 😂 you use baldi so that means baldi is now the head dceu and we might get a live action baldi because it’s been 2 years ever since they released a video game movie and I think they never made a horror video game movies except they were originally released a fans movie but the creator Scott did not the script so Scott went to blumhouse.
Wasted potential and missed opportunities because anything that resembled a coherent vision was buried by the studio, the biggest enemy of DCU is WB (not Darkside). After setting the tone you cannot change suddenly the plan (even if the praise isn't as huge or all encompassing as you would want). With JL they obviously knew that the fault was theirs, their meddling have brought only harm but they continued to do it anyway. I mean who in their right mind would say that people want to see Blue Beetle instead of another Superman movie?

Just imagine if DC wasn't owned by WB. I mean WB could be way bigger than Disney by a landslide with all these characters but no they are just massive fuckups.
Well, I'd argue that Disney would still be bigger even if WB nailed DC. Disney already owns Marvel which is pretty huge, but they also own stuff like Star Wars. Not to mention all their theme parks, other IPs, and just general brand.
@@WL1264 As much as I enjoy many parts of BvS, it was the reason the DCEU ultimately died before it really began. It was overstuffed and blew its load too early, eating up numerous comic book story lines, doing an awful job of introducing other future JL members (besides Diana…probably the one great part of the film, in addition to the warehouse fight). As much as I don’t need Joker in everything, it would have made a heck of a lot of sense to have Joker and Lex team up. Even though that would probably mean we wouldn’t get WW’s ridiculously iconic entrance

Many ideas, yet nobody was there to really be at the helm who had a firm established idea of how everything should be in a first wave of films to get to Justice League.
tbf we technically did get a sequel to Suicide Squad
Funny how mcu and monsterverse are the only cinematic universe to actually succeed
WB, critics, & fans who took WBs side ruined the DCEU
I would have loved to see Ben Afflecks The Batman movie and Chris McKays Nightwing movie. They would have been so good.
12 years since man of steel? I think u mean 10, it came out in 2013 and it’s 2023…
Crisis on Infinite Earths 😢😢😮

I’m still pissed at WB
I actually had a shirt for the Batman film that never released
They took the concept art from Ben Affleck's Batman movie and made it into Matt Reeves Batman suit, and the story was originally written before they went with Christian Bale's Batman, including the Batmobile design and the Batcave in the abandoned Wayne Subway tunnel but they skipped the elements that were based off of The Year One with him as a vigilante with a fake scar before the paint smear and even the final outfit that Selina Kyle is wearing it was the only other reference to Year One.
This should've been his new suit for the flash movie 11:56
I like Man of Steel but letting Snyder lead the DCEU was a mistake. Bro killed off Nightwing and Jimmy Olsen like they were nothing
As much as I like Snyder’s vision, that’s my only two gripes are the ones you mentioned.
Hamada defiantly has a hate boner towards Cavill, prove me wrong lol
Well, there clearly was something going on between them behind the scenes. Yeah, there are signs that Hamada isn't too fond of Henry.
@@WarpingFist Major penis envy, my man.
Blame him? He can't act for shit!
Y la roca lo opuesto a eso
@Editxxxx Scripts sucked, not him
The DCEU should’ve taken influence from the DCAU for the main characters, would’ve been way better
WB hired a man with a plan then botched 2/3rds of his & other directors movies
Come on man you gonna do that to DMX
I think the franchise would've been kn board with these films if thwy had released the snyder's and Ayer's cut in the first place
Tell that to ComicBookCast2 and its fans.
I would have loved Ben Affleck's Batman movie. It's a shame it never got made but the ideas is something I would have loved infinitely more than Matt Reeves Batman movie. Not saying Reeves Batman movie is bad it's good I liked it.
Bro what has to be done in order for people to learn how to pronounce Constantine correctly
DCEU was good until Man of Steel 2, with Wonder Woman as the exception; only problem I saw was the main Boss cgi( it was a little weird).idk
Snyder had a personal, family loss in 2017 so WB should’ve delayed the movie a year & let him grieve instead of EB being greedy pos’
2:21 👄
I love it when people research the truth. Studio interference is definitely why.
It's amazing to think that allllllllllll of this could've been avoided if Nolan hadn't recommended Snyder for Man of Steel
Man of steel wasn't a bad idea. "Batman vs Superman" was instead of making a Man Of Steel 2.
Confio en gunn se que el hara el universo que dc siempre debio ser
😂0:07 really? You could’ve use a actual picture of Walter Hamada instead 😂 you use baldi so that means baldi is now the head dceu and we might get a live action baldi because it’s been 2 years ever since they released a video game movie and I think they never made a horror video game movies except they were originally released a fans movie but the creator Scott did not the script so Scott went to blumhouse.
Maybe Dick Grayson didn't actually died
Wasted potential and missed opportunities because anything that resembled a coherent vision was buried by the studio, the biggest enemy of DCU is WB (not Darkside).
After setting the tone you cannot change suddenly the plan (even if the praise isn't as huge or all encompassing as you would want). With JL they obviously knew that the fault was theirs, their meddling have brought only harm but they continued to do it anyway. I mean who in their right mind would say that people want to see Blue Beetle instead of another Superman movie?
Nunca me gusto que pusieran a cyborg en la justice league debio aparecer en una película de los titans
arkham batman would woop zack snyders batman
100% agree
But If a criminal had to choose which to deal with, they’d pick the one that wouldn’t be sending them to heaven early
@@WarpingFist thats true
What a great waste of potential this franchise was, i loved the tone and characters in these movies.
well here is hoping the new DCU is good.
I love these jokes
Jason Tod was killed by the joker and became red hood , dick Grayson never died he left to became night wing they are not the same character
I know that, but according to Snyder himself, the dead Robin in Batman V Superman is Dick Grayson.
Does snyderverse never restored
I don't think it's ever coming back for better or worse.

people will blame zack..but they should understand that..for superman to grow as the SUPERMAN that we wanted..he must faced the hardship first.
Warner brothers executives are terrible man i remember bring excited to see the gareth evans film
Bro please turn up your mic
I can hardly hear you
Ben affleck batman movie should have been made and his antagonist will be deathstroke i did see their fight storyboard video and it was awesome 👏 too bad it had cancelled by WB losers
Fyi, the fight storyboard video is fan made. It wasn’t created for the film as confirmed by Jay Olivia.
Bro DC fell off hard the minute they made Justice League,Suicide squad the non canon one and Shazam Hopefully James Gunn will Make all the movies W's Like with Marvel
This would have been ideal
But it didnt happen
I don’t want JJ Abrams near anything DC.
They got next best thing. Chris terrio who wrote rise of Skywalker.
@@WL1264 no thank you
@@j2174 but he did write bvs and Snyder cut
@@WL1264 As much as I enjoy many parts of BvS, it was the reason the DCEU ultimately died before it really began. It was overstuffed and blew its load too early, eating up numerous comic book story lines, doing an awful job of introducing other future JL members (besides Diana…probably the one great part of the film, in addition to the warehouse fight).
As much as I don’t need Joker in everything, it would have made a heck of a lot of sense to have Joker and Lex team up.
Even though that would probably mean we wouldn’t get WW’s ridiculously iconic entrance
Jason Todd is dead in the syder films
No sir it's Dickk Grayson is the robin who got kill by the joker in this timeline. 😢
the whole idea was just bullshit, for me, okay they were not going do from origin stories, then why man of steel origin, okay fine, if they did that they should have set it in past, and included green lantern movie despite its backdrops. i dont like justice league without hal jordan and martian manhunter and thats it, founding members.
Man of Steel is 10 years old. What are you smoking?
Hmmm, it’s probably why the voice said “we’re approaching 12 years” and not “it’s been twelve years”
Im sorry but the whole thing about Matt Reeves was never the replacement of Ben Affleck. So this info that you got in false and inaccurate,
I don’t understand how what I said was false or inaccurate. I always make sure that my information is as up to date as possible so it always bothers me if I somehow got something wrong. Maybe you can inform me about how I was being inaccurate or shared false info? Maybe there’s an interview I missed?
Thank god no more snyder crap movies. He did man of steel which was awesome to crap like bvs that was pure garbage at best and the rest ahh rather watch paint dry as that is being the nicest thing i can say about his movie's
Man of steel ain't good either
