    RIP John Wetton. Too many times people get described as legends, you sir, are one. I've been listening to your skills since 1982. Today is a VERY sad day for me and millions of fans.

    An amazing musician and an amazing man! The world just got a bit sadder by losing his talent. I have seen him live a few times and still enjoy his music. If we play his work and say his name from time to time, he will be immortal. RIP John, you will not be forgotten!

    John Wetton was my most respected rock and musician, so his death is really painful. It is truly sad that I can not listen to that wonderful singing voice and bass performance. Tears. . Tears. . .

    I swear I didn’t see this footage because I was already mourning my mom at that month and year. He was still young which was upsetting because my mom was 79 years old. To hear of his passing at such a young age especially when I am still fond of Asia to which he was a member of until his retirement and possibly of his illness? I can’t believe we still lose talented singers and musicians like him, including Irene Cara and Tina Turner being a highly respected and recognized singer as well. Rest In Peace to the best, the brightest, the most influential and the most inspiring people in the music industry!

    Christ another good prog musician gone. Fist saw John in UK, for me they were the nearest thing to Elp when UK became a three piece band. I saw them here in England and was knocked out by them. John had a brilliant voice, was a brilliant writer and bass player. A lot of us expected John to take the place of the now sadly missed Greg Lake when he walked out of ELP in the 90s, but it wasn't to be.
    I still play my UK albums now but they will have a sadness to them now. RIP John, go play with Emerson and lake in the big gig in the sky.
    Steve.

      Per-Ivar Sandbæk We've lost so many I just can't believe it. The sad part is that it won't stop because most of the remaining Rock legends are old and some sick. It wouldn't really be surprising if Robert Plant or Roger Waters died tomorrow, but It'd be heartbreaking like this case.

    • @Sandbek1973
      @Sandbek1973 7 лет назад +1

      I hear you man. It seems like they are dropping one after another. It sucks big time! Asia is one of my all time favorite bands and I listen to them a LOT. I don't know...this truly managed to ruin my day :(

    • @renapeppers20
      @renapeppers20 7 лет назад

      Per-Ivar Sandbæk Same man. King Crimson is one of my favorite bands and it sucks that we're losing so many legends. The one that got me the most and actually made me cry was Bowie. It sucks to lose the people that even if you didn't know, made your life better thanks to the music they created.

    • @Sandbek1973
      @Sandbek1973 7 лет назад +1

      Yeah, Bowie's death was sad but loosing Wetton struck me harder than I thought. It has come to the point where you wake up every morning and thinks who's next. It doesn't matter if we knew them or not because through their music...we kinda became one big happy family in a way.

    I lost my interest in popular and mainstream music since the 90's. I only listen to almost everything before the 90's eversince. Been hoping in vain for the GOOD MUSIC to rule the globe once again (not only in the internet).
    Now our heroes are gone one by one. Some are sick. Some retired. Some are amazingly still alive and kicking, but never know for how long.
    Very sad to hear that before his death John and Asia had been scheduled for a tour with JOURNEY, one of my biggest influences, and would also join Cruise To The Edge with KANSAS (oh my God, there wouldn't be a better list than these).
    R.I.P John, thanks for the great music.
    And if I had to make a one last wish, it would be seeing a Journey reunion (with Steve Perry of course).

    A drunk. It was time to go. The smile left his eyes long ago. It was too late to fix things. The voice of America said we don’t care anymore when Astra came back in 85. Don’t cry too much. The heat of the moment was decades ago. The stinging acid rain poured on him and he wasn’t shielded by the imaginative tour plane. A. Illusion. Nobody wanted to pay for Asia on tour post 1985.
