A very creative way to connect the living room to the bedroom and bathroom through the box. Love it! Also, this is the first time I see someone to put the bedroom to the darkest side of an apartment. In general, this is where the bedroom should be located (the darker the place, the better the sleep).
This is a good example of how reorganizing the spaces can make an apartment feel so much more lighter and spacious! Also love the Yves Klein blue *bedroom nook!
I personally feel like the living room is missing something to make it feel more cosy. The bedroom and shower are absolutely stunning though. I especially love the vibrant blue color.
A comfy sofá were you can sink in at the end of the day or have an afternoon nap. Only straight lines, no curves, it looks uncomfortable. Love the monkey ;)
I'm so glad not every architect thinks a sun-filled bedroom is a must. Love, love, love the blue! That glass enclosed bathroom lending light to the bedroom is genius.
i really don't get it, bedrooms are for sleep or privacy, sunlight and street exposure is more of an annoyance than a benefit, designers always want to put them at the worst place lol
The design of objects is such a personal matter, but thank you for your point of view ;) In reality, the cushion is so dense that it is much more comfortable than it looks!
@@esikazemese it really does... and i also personally don't like how much space it takes up, it literally takes the whole wall on that side and you could never move it around.. like you could have an aesthetically pleasing and big comfortable couch that's half the size and be left with a lot more free space, this just looks like modern but impractical design to me, but to each their own! as long as the owner likes it i guess
Overall I found this apartment interesting - with a comfortable bedroom positioning, and a bathroom as a focal point etc. At the same time I believe the strongest sides are the weakest ones in terms of practicality. Especially the bathroom - if I am thinking about everyday usage - an acoustic side, privacy (not mention situations someone like friends or relatives are staying over), glass getting dirty quickly (and constant need of cleaning it up to keep it visually pleasant) comes to my mind. I got a bit of a luxury hotel vibes with this one. The kitchen/living space although nice - may be more comfortable in terms of seating area etc. (but I guess it met the owners expectation perfectly). Lastly I found positioning of some of kitchen appliances not-functional (especially fridge doors and a microwave cabinet). With all that being said still a big kudos to the designer! Props for unconventional thinking and a very esthetically pleasant and cohesive space (and I love his sweater btw ;) A completely side note - 40 plus square meters ap. in the centre of Paris is anything but small. However I am very happy this one has been included here :) Thank you for sharing!
This bathroom is nothing compared to the "open style bathrooms" that were in vogue some years back. I totally dig this bathroom space and understand that it was n line with the client's wishes. At the end of the day client is king and whatever it is they decide has to happen. The talent of the architect is that he/she uses those strict requirement guidelines and still manages to create magic while maintaining optimisation of space !
I do believe guest accomodation is not any sort of priority for the people who live there. There is no guest bed and only room for brief entertainment in form of a dinner etc. The bathroom being the way it is is an absolute non-issue.
As other have pointed out, I don't think that couple were thinking of having guest stay over. The most they would probably do is entertain because they actually wanted space in the living room but that's it. And as for the glass getting dirty, I believe that if they can buy an appartement next to the place de l'Opéra they can pay someone to clean their appartement
4:10 this view hits so much , the remaining wine , the beer bootle , all the mayonnaise and sauce on top shelf the activia yogurt !!!! ohhhh god i can't wait to own my own place in paris
I am completely blown away by the unique beauty of this apartment remodel. The form, functionality, & beauty is off the charts ! The ability of the architect to ‘see’ the possibility of the space, and then make it so amazing, is absolutely top notch. Bravo !
I find the layout interesting, and particularly the kitchen. Having the bathroom a focal point-it’s the elephant in the room that the whole apartment is built around-I find odd. The living space seems very uncomfortable; there’s room for a “real” sofa and larger dining table and chairs, so why not? Finally, the irregular angles-the kitchen niche, the bathroom framing-are too funky (“ooh look at me I’m cool”). I’d rather see some detailing more sympathetic to the building’s architecture.
I think some of these apartments have weird little niches. They don't add them so are looking for ways to make them seem like accents. They also have to work around strange poles or bracing. HIgher up apartments where the roof is starting to cut in create more of these. Not sure what the blank space was like but imagine they did have those to deal with.
I feel the same way about the living room .Obviously the owner doesn’t spend too much time sitting around .Not much room for people to sit when visiting .I love the blue bedroom and the bathroom .We stayed in a hotel close to the Louvre they had a bathroom inside the bedroom that looked like a shoebox .
While I like the design overall, I find the built-in bench an odd choice, would rather go for a nice sofa and the dining situation more in the direction where the kitchen is or use the moveable island instead. The bathroom takes up a lot of room, for only containing a sink and a shower, could've spared a few cm, for the living/kitchen room. I like the toilet situation, the kitchen, bedroom. That all being said, I am not the one who has to live there.
As an industrial designer from Mexico, seeing an Acapulco chair in Paris it's one of those moments that make you feel proud of how functional designs can be used all over the world.
Well... it's will depend of the in initial state of the appartement when the owner buy it ( Old appartement without any renovation are cheaper than other more modern. ), but I would say probably something like between 350 000 and 450 000 euro ( It can be more if you search in specific arrondissement or specific architecture, like the famous Hausmanian building. )... It's pretty expensive, especially when you compare with other city in France ( In Rouen for exemple, you can find flat with the same surface for less than 120 000 euro if you search in some area. ) but Paris is an expensive city ^^;.
The paradox of his final pitch about small spaces as beacons of affordability: You still need a shit ton of money. You need to hire a design team. You have to be a 'young professional' with lots of disposable income. Otherwise, you are lucky to be able to just move in and make do with DIY hacks from IKEA...
I love the bedroom space, especially the clever closets, bookshelves and desk. That is a great use of space. What I do not like is the kitchen because there really isn’t enough storage for someone who actually cooks their own meals. There seems to be additional space that could have been utilised for more cabinets and that moveable island could have been twice the size. I like the recycled and movable nature of the island, though. The other thing I would not be able to live with in this apartment is that so-called couch. That is the most uncomfortable looking couch ever! Might look nice design-wise with how it merges into the dining bench seat, but it is so impractical because you cannot sit comfortably to relax there and only 2 people. I would have put a regular, comfortable (and bigger) sofa there and then had a dining table turned length-wise with moveable chairs on each side so you have flexible seating for extra visitors.
I regarding the kitchen I think it really depends on what type of food you usually cook and how many different spices you use. I also cook myself and use just half of my not so big kitchen. So I guess it really depends on the person. But the couch yeah I thought also that it looks really uncomfortable and not cozy 🤔 Anyways, overall to see the huge change and how it effects everything, it’s just amazing!

I couldn't live with the uncomfortable lounge. Comfort at home is paramount to me, since a lot of my day is spent in an office chair or on my feet. I would prioritise a good couch over a dining space, since you can get drop leaf tables etc., that work well in small spaces. I see a lot of people really like this apartment. I like aspects of it, particularly the balcony and entry way, but personally wouldn't have had the bathroom there (which is the bit everybody else likes), I'd have redesigned the bedroom/bathroom/wardrobe space so the bathroom was in the wardrobe area. But I'm intensely private. I do like the idea of the glass walls acting as a light box, but would rather it was part of the bedroom space.
Who cares if someone can see your silhouette moving behind textured glass? And if you were that "intensely private", you wouldn't be having anyone over.
@@scottmichaels1764 Lol. For a short time some years ago I lived in a place with glass bricks dividing a bathroom from a living space. Guests felt uncomfortable using it, we ended up putting up curtains to cover it. Intensely private goes both ways - I don't want guests looking at me, and I sure don't want to see the half imagined blurred outline of my uncles saggy, big butt getting out of the shower.
It kept getting better and better! My jaw dropped when I saw the bedroom (the color, the storage) and OMG that bathroom felt like stepping into a comic book, super iconic! I love seeing these creative solutions to maximize each space, especially when they have multiple functions. Well done en beautifully explained.
Finally! Some color. The blue bedroom with clothes storage was fantastic, and I loved the cork board for personalization. I feel they could have used more comfortable furniture in the living room, and maybe installed a projector for a TV. It's also a bit awkward to put the plants in the very middle there. The dark bathroom toilet made me giggle because I would hate to be sick 🤢 in there. Claustrophobic with dizzying lines. The original bathroom had a tub and they removed it! And the tile on that tub was rather fun too. This is one of the better small apartment redesigns we've seen, because of all the color. I loved the light box shower though
FINALLY a kitchen with usable counter space! The bathroom location and design open in the middle of everything also is very French hehe. Nice apartment layout - wouldn't decorate it quite the same but the layout is sound!
Very nice. Brilliant selection of tiles. Love the dual use of the bathroom (actual bathroom and light sculpture). Emphasizing the darkness of the bedroom with a tranquilizing dark blue; great. Thanks for the inspiration.
love the architect's pull, the "floating" benches, klein blue and the movable island (looks like it can extend dining table) and the laundry being next to the wardrobe is super practical
That dark blue makes that space visually smaller. Especially the ceiling in the hall. I also think that the central part of the living room is just wasted, dead space.
I couldn’t agree more…. Nice layout, some interesting features but overall the flat looks very cold and uninviting! Dead empty space with few plants in the middle. And that shower looks like a glass coffin….oh no, no thanks!
This is definitely one of the best rearrangements of the apartment layout so far, opening so much space and light in the living room. Really great redesign. The blue bedroom is stunning!! And the bathroom is also beautiful. I just think a real sofa/couch and small 3-4 seater dining table would be more comfortable and versatile than that bench, and would fit in exactly the same space.
I agree, I feel like that was the only real issue with this space. That whole living seems awkward and uninviting. I think your couch suggestion would be perfect.
So many good ideas in this apartment. I love the various types of light created by the blue paint, the tiles in the bathroom and toilet, the lines in the doors between the corridor and the bedroom, and of course the amazing glass wall that separates the bathroom.
I really love how the architect embraced the darkness and smallness of the bathroom and toilet. Instead of trying to make them look big by painting or tiling the spaces white, he chose for a more intimate direction. Painting and tiling both spaces in a darker color was the best solution. It makes both spaces really feel welcoming and cozy instead of tiny and cramped,
In love with how the archi pushes everything to far end of the space to create open space concept. Liked d skylight in d bedroom true Parisian style. Very clean contemporary approach.
Props to the designer. They really incorporated client's wishes with ingenious solutions and created functional space that feels bigger than it actually is. You need to remember that you may not like certain colours or furniture, but that is your personal opinion, designer works based on client's wishes and this is great example of a job well done.
The Klein Blue bedroom was a total surprise, absolutely stunning. I loved the tiled bathroom and the facts that it doubles up as a light box in the evening
It is such a well-designed apartment. My only concern is that the toilet is only accessible thru the bedroom which is not nice when you have visitors who want to use it.
One of the best and smartest apartments you’ve featured thus far! I love how they worked around getting natural light to all of rooms and various access points so it doesn’t feel so boxed in
Very interesting usage of space here. I love how the wardrobe, bedroom, toilet all wedge together and is able to cross over from one another, & has help to amplify a larger living space. That Blue Klein paint contrasting against the wood finishing with the natural sunlight has created a abstract surrealism art on it's own. Very interesting cosy ambience in there. That geometrical fold down desk is brilliant. 6:18 you know you will be taken into a new perspective with tiles & lines. And that tiles design is continuously interestingly used in the recessed walls in the living and kitchen subtly. That Pink pillow, Pink nylon string chair, Pink pot & 1/8 painted Pink balcony railing gave a element of surprise. Simple but yet complicated... Very detailed designer Thomas Pellerin.
I have to admit, at the start of the video I was unimpressed with how the designer managed to make the living room so sparse and uninviting but that was before the brilliance of the rest of the interior was revealed to me. The bedroom's deep rich colour was transportive. Juxtaposed against the black black outlined square tiles in the bathroom made the private spaces in this apartment feel quirky, artsy and so personable. I began to realise the genius when the secret bathroom was releaved in the cave like recess in the clean open bathroom- despite its tiny footprint, it felt like the darkness was. just hiding the true enormity of the space. I thought the designer ran out of tricks which was then he shocked me for the final time-transforming the shower into a light feature that emitted a soft illuminous glow. What a rollercoaster! I loved it. Im about to watch it again!
Love your channel. The apartments is a great balance between tiny living, minimalism, simplicity, and high quality livable design, not magazine hypothetical living. Could you include, and although more work, possibly a second channel, going into a bit more detail on the hidden logistics of the apartment builds (electrical channels, ventilation, sound dampening, heating/cooling etc)?
Have to admit I am quite curious about the planning and shared-system upgrades for some of these beautiful spaces in old and/or repurposed buildings......
Oh my, an apartment in the heart of Paris, soooo jealous. Inventive use of light. Total transformed to a light and airy apartment with an outdoor space, such a luxury to have.
I love this 😍. But why is there no couch?! This is one of the few apartments that would actually fit one! I hate those built in benches. They're never comfortable.
I watched this because I found living room on the clip thumbnail look amazing, but it's finally the bedroom and bathroom which made me mesmerized. Very cool and unique design!
I love that blue and I was very skeptical of the bathroom in the living room but they somehow made it work beautifully. This is very inspiring and unique and cool. Bravo!
This is very very well done! It feels soooooo much bigger and lighter than before. I am a fan of that glass box! Love the two cut out shelfs in the living room. Also the walk-in closet in the bedroom is very smart. Would have left the back wall off the bedroom white though..
I absolutely love this project! I'd personally make a couple of changes, but the general design and features left me amazed (Specially the movable kitchen island, being made out of recycled plastic). Thank you so much for sharing! 💛
I really love this one! My one worry was that people would see you on the toilet but it's so cleverly tucked in that little corner. The Yves Klein blue bedroom is gorgeous and I love the generous walk in wardrobe space. The only thing I would change is that sofa bench - I need a real couch!
There are some elements of this apartment that I personally don't like and aren't to my taste but the genius and success of this apartment for me are that I feel I could move in straight away. Some apartments on this channel just seem unlivable day-to-day but this has; wardrobe space - particularly tall hanging space, an actual washing machine with space to keep laundry detergent and cleaning products, room for books, and a proper kitchen. The architect has done a fantastic job!
Generous space where it needed to be so and intimate in the right spaces. Lighbox bathroom - what an ingenious idea! Makes a for a wonderful feature at night!
I Love this layout! Such a great way to channel light to where it is needed most. The little touches are very cute also. So many small appartments don't have enough places to lounge though and one wonders where a TV/sound system might go also. Nick-nack shelves are fine and all, they look great but show me how to netflix
I like this because they’ve left enough open wall space. Adding a wall-mounted tv and a loveseat/ couch wouldn’t overwhelm the design..those are my dealbreakers.
@@fcallophoto Agreed! We haven't had a tv since Dec 2020 and love having so much more time to absorb our neighbourhood, to read, to craft, to play and to talk with each other.

Wow! For single person or couple this is amazing. The bedroom and bathroom are stunning! I have some reservations regarding the glass and toilet access IF having guests over but overall it is a beautiful home.
Loved it, the blue majorelle of the room gives it a « marrakech vibes » and the contrast with the bathroom/wc is amazing. However, not sure about the toilet located inside the room. If the client is receiving guests or family over, they will have to enter the room to get to the wc. The kitchen is great, I would have maybe just add more assise in that nice spacious living room. Kudos to the designer 🙌🏼👍🏽
This is a really creative use of space. I love how every area of space is utilized and that the owner used color and not just white. The different materials like the frosted glass is also a nice touch . Great apartment

This is one of my favourites on the channel! The expansion of the natural light into the living room and that oblique line box is amazing.
I think the bedroom and the reorganisation of the living room space so that the natural light was reclaimed was the WIN 💯💯💯💯🌟
FINALLY a kitchen with usable counter space! The bathroom location and design open in the middle of everything also is very French hehe. Nice apartment layout - wouldn't decorate it quite the same but the layout is sound!
Just what I was gonna say! Brilliant layout, the taste level is questionable
Lots of dead space. Only the kitchen is nice
Love it. Social points for vibrant blue paint and clever shelf/desk combo. Cheers
The black and white rooms on the bathroom are awesome! And the bathroom lights on night look beautiful from the living area.
My personal best so far. Such a clever and spacious design. Architect did a great job - congrats.
Greetings from Zagreb
This is just genius... fantastic reno... BRAVO!
I love the black/white contrast ideas!
I get the feeling this space really comes alive at night.
So many good ideas in this apartment. I love the various types of light created by the blue paint, the tiles in the bathroom and toilet, the lines in the doors between the corridor and the bedroom, and of course the amazing glass wall that separates the bathroom.
This is one of the properties I could actually see myself living in. It doesn't just look nice, it looks comfortable and liveable.
A fantastic example when design follows function in every detail. So intelligent, so handsome.
I really love how the architect embraced the darkness and smallness of the bathroom and toilet. Instead of trying to make them look big by painting or tiling the spaces white, he chose for a more intimate direction. Painting and tiling both spaces in a darker color was the best solution. It makes both spaces really feel welcoming and cozy instead of tiny and cramped,
AMAZING little space! The designers did a marvelous job! The bedroom is FIRE!
Vraiment une belle réussite moderne et cosy en plein Paris j'aime beaucoup le concept de cet appartement, bravo ! 😉😊
this design is incredibly smart, I am completely in awe of the vision to see this apartments potential. Bravo!
In love with how the archi pushes everything to far end of the space to create open space concept. Liked d skylight in d bedroom true Parisian style. Very clean contemporary approach.
This is outstanding. The blue Klein looks divine and the bathroom becoming a Lightbox at night was inspired. Congratulations.
That is a FANTASTIC design. The bedroom paint is stunning.
Props to the designer. They really incorporated client's wishes with ingenious solutions and created functional space that feels bigger than it actually is. You need to remember that you may not like certain colours or furniture, but that is your personal opinion, designer works based on client's wishes and this is great example of a job well done.
EXACTLYYYYY
The Klein Blue bedroom was a total surprise, absolutely stunning. I loved the tiled bathroom and the facts that it doubles up as a light box in the evening
It has become 100% better than it was before. Really smart way to increase natural light levels in the apartment.
It is such a well-designed apartment. My only concern is that the toilet is only accessible thru the bedroom which is not nice when you have visitors who want to use it.
Well, using that bathroom wouldn't be nice for guests anyway, since it's partly exposed...
L'appartement est très beau. J'ai déjà travaillé avec eux, ils sont très doués. Bravo !!!
I loved the blue Klein wall, and the contrast with the white tiles of the bathroom!
The colour differences between the rooms makes the space soo stylish.
It has a gallery feel.
I work 100m away from that street!! Amazing design as always, thanks again to the team for these Paris episodes 🌞
This is in one of my top 3 small spaces you have shown us!! Love it!
LOOOOOOOVE the blue paint used in this place!
+1
Oh my, an apartment in the heart of Paris, soooo jealous. Inventive use of light. Total transformed to a light and airy apartment with an outdoor space, such a luxury to have.
I love this 😍. But why is there no couch?! This is one of the few apartments that would actually fit one! I hate those built in benches. They're never comfortable.
It's nice to see more of those apartments in Europe's city-pearls
That blue box bedroom is everything
Extremely creative and, yet, perfectly practical. Especially the wardrobe-laundry design. LOVE IT!!
Paris is divine, and this apartment is glorious!
Wow. The thoughtfulness of this design is brilliant
I love the hidden toilet nook, black, contrasting with the white shower!
can't stop thinking about this cobalt blue bedroom, it is so calming. gonna have one of my own someday.
wowi love this i would die for that blue paint- the bathroom !the tile contrasting with the toilet room is *chefs kiss
I watched this because I found living room on the clip thumbnail look amazing, but it's finally the bedroom and bathroom which made me mesmerized. Very cool and unique design!
I love the blue color of the bedroom. Stunning ❤
The blue colour coming from the bedroom into the bathroom looks amazing. So cool.
For real the "before" pictures were awful
The architect has done a fantastic job!
that’s an amazing project. i love how light can penetrate thanks to the bathroom. bravo 👏🏻👏🏻
Genius design! Amazed by how thoughful SPACE planning. The place seems bigger
Glad the bog has a ‘feeling of intimacy’.
(Love this apartment)
Yes, glad they did that, I would not enjoy having a shit in that lightbox lol !
Wow! The bedroom and the bathroom are very Piet Mondrian-ish. A very fresh and interesting concept.
Generous space where it needed to be so and intimate in the right spaces. Lighbox bathroom - what an ingenious idea! Makes a for a wonderful feature at night!
A minimalist design that maintain its elegant and beauty. I'm in love with this series.
FABULOUS layout! BRAVO! ❤️
STUNNING! 😍
That blue in the bedroom is amazing.
The tile use and color contrast is amazing
I Love this layout! Such a great way to channel light to where it is needed most. The little touches are very cute also. So many small appartments don't have enough places to lounge though and one wonders where a TV/sound system might go also. Nick-nack shelves are fine and all, they look great but show me how to netflix
I like this because they’ve left enough open wall space. Adding a wall-mounted tv and a loveseat/ couch wouldn’t overwhelm the design..those are my dealbreakers.
I mean...with the view and neighbourhood, who even needs a TV?
@@fcallophoto Agreed! We haven't had a tv since Dec 2020 and love having so much more time to absorb our neighbourhood, to read, to craft, to play and to talk with each other.
@@cbjones2212 with the amount of downtime I'm getting with all these Melbourne lockdowns I'd absorb a library in six months. Problem being the library is shut.
Almost perfect. Some design aspects I'd do without but overall a solid apartment with a stellar location.
That blue bedroom is just WOW.
I am absolutely mesmerized with the tint of blue colour in bedroom... I wonder how it smells inside but I'm sure that's good.
Wow! For single person or couple this is amazing. The bedroom and bathroom are stunning! I have some reservations regarding the glass and toilet access IF having guests over but overall it is a beautiful home.
It's beautiful, but personally i wouldn't feel like i'm home
Loved it, the blue majorelle of the room gives it a « marrakech vibes » and the contrast with the bathroom/wc is amazing. However, not sure about the toilet located inside the room. If the client is receiving guests or family over, they will have to enter the room to get to the wc. The kitchen is great, I would have maybe just add more assise in that nice spacious living room. Kudos to the designer 🙌🏼👍🏽
the glass feature wall is just spectacular this is amazing
This is a really creative use of space. I love how every area of space is utilized and that the owner used color and not just white. The different materials like the frosted glass is also a nice touch . Great apartment
This transformation was stellar! That bathroom was everything!
This was smartly done! Love the blue pigment for the bedroom.
Love the artistic approach to tiles, paint, glass..love it, 👌💕🥰🙏
