Once a standard HDB flat with basic finishes and fixtures, the colourful and quirky 401e has been transformed into a practical and adaptable home, seamlessly transitioning from an intimate space for two to an inviting setting for friends and family. Designed by Jade Cham of knock knock studio, alongside owners Jackie, an illustrator, and Tobbie, a jiu jitsu instructor. Key design interventions included integrating storage solutions, custom furniture and cool colour schemes. A standout addition is a full length built-in storage bench in the open plan dining and living space, which includes a pull-out bench for additional dining seating and discreetly stowing away sporting gear. A curated gallery wall in the space displays art pieces by both Jackie and the couple’s friends, along with cherished mementos from their travels. By taking every little lifestyle detail taken into account, this design truly illustrates how there is always room for playfulness and personal touches

This is not a house, this is a HOME. So much love and personality go into this! And the floor plan? I AM IN LOVE
OMG. So many good lessons here. Yes to side hustle furniture. Yes to gorgeous color choices, from the soft green of the foyer to the maroon of the bathroom- and the stunning veneer in the bedroom. Yes to a pull up bar tucked under the bookshelves. So many yeses, the space feels generous and so very livable. It truly shines with the joys of home.
Everything in this apartment has been planned out so thoughtfully to tailor it to their needs and to maximise the space in their apartment.
This one feels like its going back to the channel's roots. Actually small and smart storage. Love it!

I'm from SG and this is by far the best designed and functional singaporean home I have seen from this channel....absolutely lovely and truly a home sweet home!! ❤
What a quirky space in the living room with a classy kitchen and washroom! I love the mix of colours and textures. It’s not overwhelming but it’s very artistic and intriguing. Every room has different personalities which is great to suit different emotions like in the living room you can be energized but in the washroom you can relax!
FINALLY, a homeowner who understands the need to keep laundry and cooking separate! It baffles me that more people don't take this into consideration. And as the wife of a man who has a temporary pull-up bar that fits into a doorframe, having a permanent one is SO much better. When the temporary one is in place at our home, you can't close that door, and it's really irritating. I might have to find a way to put in a permanent one somewhere.
This might be my favorite gallery wall on this channel. Not all of the artwork is to my taste, but I just love the effect. The juxtaposition of color and texture, the curved mirror, the contrasts in size and shape...it's all amazing. And it makes the TV look less TV-ish, which is nice.
this has got to be one of my favorite design ever featured on this channel, it's colorful, versatile, functional, beautiful, well segmented and fresh... it's perfect
The bathroom was a surprise. Very elegant. And that dishrack over the sink is a great idea. I have 2 hanging above mine, which works well but doesn't look that good.
So much to love in this home! Minimal but not sterile, plenty of storage, COLOR!!!, versatility, personality and privacy. Brilliant!!

This is such a lovely, cozy space. Just the right size, and maximised well. I especially like bench/storage in the living room. And happy to see Singapore's HBDs featured here. Singapore has such an exemplary public housing policy.

Easily my favorite so far. Separating spaces with actual doors is so important for smells, noises, vibes. Also I'm very envious that Singaporeans have a government that provides nice, affordable public housing.
This is hands down the BEST house you have shown! I love how there's actual separation of the kitchen from the living space so you can really chill watching TV or something, and the distribution of everything ia just SO perfect. And my God the bedroom has actual privacy, sheesh! Seriously, the speed with which I would hire them! 🙀

This is my favorite apartment I have yet seen on this channel.
I like that this one actually seems to have a decently-sized bathroom. So many of these small space homes have teeny little bathrooms with very small showers or sinks, but this one seems pretty normal, even while it maximizes the way it uses the space.
Love the floor plans! But also that wall bench storage box with a moveable storage bench for extra seating around the table is fantastic!

I love the use of color, it gives a unique vibe to the spaces, other than that it feels very warm, it contributes to the space feels bigger than it is, very cute!
An excellent and very efficient use of space with a neutral colour palette and nice high ceilings which certainly make the apartment seem twice as large.
The warm wood tones of the flooring and custom cabinetry as well as all of the personal decorative touches around the apartment make it a very inviting space; not cold or bland at all.

That home is great - so much personalities of owners in furniture ♥ That pull-out bench probably could be upgraded by adding one more top board and good hinges to create backrest - that's one of two changes I would do before moving in, second would be more space for books ;) I love that green color ... now I want to re-paint my entryway like that - good think I plan some home remodeling in the second half of the year ;)
