I have a locksmith company that gained over 220 5 star reviews. Been around my area for 7 years and gained lots of clientele throughout the years. I change my hours and a couple of other pieces of info on the listing and boom listing suspended. I have been off of Google for 3 months… I’ve dealt with a few Google product experts and even hire a company that got another suspended locksmiths listing back up and not even they can get my listing reinstated even with all paperwork, licenses, etc. I think this should be a basis for class action lawsuit and all the legitimate locksmiths should get together somehow and fight this. Understandable it’s a “free service” but they have a monopoly on this entire thing and not being listed with reviews is pretty much career suicide. Completely unfair and it’s affecting so many people that have worked their tail off to get where they’re at

I find it strange that in California where I work. I need to be licensed to work legally in this state. Yet Home Depot, Ace Hardware and these types of stores are cutting keys and now making transponder keys with unlicensed people. Makes me think I should stop paying my state licensing fees if these box stores don’t have to. What’s your guys thoughts on this?
Man I'm going through this now and I hired a Google partner to take care of spent a lot of money with seo company and didnt work .I've lost thousands of dollars worth of business because of this and 3 months and still waiting I'm working with my Google partner and this is so frustrating.Been in business for 8 plus years have license insurance etc .Just one more hoop to jump through.Nothing ever happens to bad actors but people who follow rules pay the price .

I've followed all of Google's direction, sent a video of me in my van, the logo on the side, my business card, my ALOA membership, I drove my van to my cross-street and to my home physical address, got the special code by snail mail and used it. The Google mailer was expected mail and obvious...but the email from the website was not tried, but it is a lot of money for a single addess use. I do have domain authority code embedded into the web page code. Maybe I'll try the google rep if that is a new option. It's the only one untried.

I just recently got verified and my experience wasn't great but not horrible. It took 5 or 6 weeks in total. Ultimately, even though I am a mobile locksmith, I wound up with the postcard verification method. If you have a local marketing company near you, chances are they have the experience to get you through it much faster.
Verification wasn't very hard when I did it. Just had a postcard sent to the house and typed in a code. I think it's changed to Business Google thing by Google in the last 19 minutes. #lockboss
Guys, I will keep this short and sweet and tell you as a former Google Business Profile tech support from 2014-2022. Citations will be a huge factor here. Google will go beyound just the typical NAPs ( Name Address and phone number.) These citations not just have to be live but also indexed by data aggregators. Google will see how optimized they are for consumers with reviews, videos, real photos and so on. Big brands have penerated local listings hurting real local locksmith. We also had problem with marketing and SEO agencies creating fake businesses and selling the leads to local Locksmith. I will keep it short because there's so much going on.

Took me almost 6 months to get verified. The problem I had was getting them to explain the part where I show them where I am on a map. But it was worded weird like map profile or something like that. Once I did that then I was finally good to go. I still get more referrals from my yelp freebie listing than google business. Maybe the algorithm will get better. For something that’s free though it’s better than nothing and I’m mostly appt only right now so that may be another reason why I’m not getting pulled up. But there also seems to be a lot of other locksmiths that are not legit on my map and with that I mean it says there are locksmith in my area but it’s just a random business location and there is no locksmith there. This #Lockboss got his verification card from Google in the mail, followed the instructions, and was immediately suspended. Multiple appeals, told my listing violated quality guidelines. Copied and pasted their guidelines into an appeal email, and highlighted how my listing did not violate a single aspect of their guidelines - on a point by point basis. It was like a doctoral thesis. 3 months later, received a response. "Thank you for contacting Google Business. It seems your listing is in violation of our quality guidelines. Your listing has been suspended". At no time, did they ever provide an example. And considering you can only do so much before verifying with their little postcard, pretty hard to see how the listing could violate anything. I'll try one more time after I study your video, but at this point in time, in my opinion, Google for Business is a joke without a punchline.

I agree that this is to help weed out bad businesses or scams, but i question anything that google does. They do so many shady things and get away with it because they have the market cornered. There are a majority of people that just want to start their own business and be left alone. Corporations and government don't want anyone doing that though. Saying that just going through the steps will fix the problem just simply is not true. Took me months to get verified and listed. 20 days later got suspended a day after I changed my hours, and added a business start date. Going through countless changes over the past month and a half did not fix the issue. My business listing only shows my website, business number, website, service areas, and description of my business. I am the only person authorized on my account. Sometimes Google will just not list you. Funny how my LSA, with all the same information, is listed no problem. That's a paid one though, they won't let you have the free one. Google is a complete scam.
@CLKsupplies they had me do it a few different ways. First, I had to take a video of my workspace, street sign, vehicle, equipment, business cards, etc. After that was verified, they said they needed to mail me a postcard. After receiving that and giving them the code, I then had to get verified for ads and LSA. They then needed pictures of my vehicle, pictures of my equipment, business cards, etc. I also had to provide them a copy of my business license, my business insurance, and run a personal background check through their affiliate company Evident, for advanced verification. My accounts are verified, and I have shown Google that I am indeed a legitimate business. I have a NASTF membership I sent them. I've been a paid member on Keypro for years, and I'm sure members on there could attest I am a valid locksmith.
This is a problem. I have been in 'Google Jail' as one marketing company put it, for over a year trying to get my profile allowed. Will be looking into these suggestions. #lockboss

Also as for Key me that are a crooked company as any with their stupid machines only reason they do it is to spam the map. I had trouble getting listed on Google. I ended up hiring a outside company to get me listed. I was able to do the postcard verification even though I am a mobile locksmith. I do not think that my exact location shows up on a google or google map search, even though I did use my home address for verification purposes. #Lockboss
I didn't find it was hard. It was more of a pain setting up yelp, mapquest. Im only mobile but there are some work arounds to get listed. Now apple maps is a joke, don't bother with them. #Lockboss

Finally got through this process after months of emails and frustration! I had many companies claiming to be partners with google calling to "help" for a fee. I decided to just be persistent and they finally approved me. #lockboss

I agree that this is to help weed out bad businesses or scams, but i question anything that google does. They do so many shady things and get away with it because they have the market cornered. There are a majority of people that just want to start their own business and be left alone. Corporations and government don't want anyone doing that though. Sorry for the rant, I'm a newbie locksmith so i haven't done this yet for my business. #lockboss

Guys, we need solutions, not just complaints about it.
Saying that just going through the steps will fix the problem just simply is not true. Took me months to get verified and listed. 20 days later got suspended a day after I changed my hours, and added a business start date. Going through countless changes over the past month and a half did not fix the issue. My business listing only shows my website, business number, website, service areas, and description of my business. I am the only person authorized on my account. Sometimes Google will just not list you. Funny how my LSA, with all the same information, is listed no problem. That's a paid one though, they won't let you have the free one. Google is a complete scam.

@CLKsupplies they had me do it a few different ways. First, I had to take a video of my workspace, street sign, vehicle, equipment, business cards, etc. After that was verified, they said they needed to mail me a postcard. After receiving that and giving them the code, I then had to get verified for ads and LSA. They then needed pictures of my vehicle, pictures of my equipment, business cards, etc. I also had to provide them a copy of my business license, my business insurance, and run a personal background check through their affiliate company Evident, for advanced verification. My accounts are verified, and I have shown Google that I am indeed a legitimate business. I have a NASTF membership I sent them. I've been a paid member on Keypro for years, and I'm sure members on there could attest I am a valid locksmith.
How did you get reinstated? I got suspended after changing hours and a few other things and it’s been 3 months with no reinstatement

Good video but how about 1 on how to turn in these spam/scam company’s that list as brick and mortar but have no store front? Also as for Key me that are a crooked company as any with their stupid machines only reason they do it is to spam the map. Your guy there in the video gave them more credit than they deserve because they DO NOT send a locksmith out for car lockouts they send a freaking tow company. That to me is false advertising and should get them banned but that won’t happen.
I had trouble getting listed on Google. I ended up hiring a outside company to get me listed. It took about 3 or 4 months, but they were successful. #lockboss I left my computer on and saw the bloopers. I am back to add to my comments. I think you could get away with looking more like The Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman. To clarify Hugh Jackman in character as the Wolverine.

I was able to do the postcard verification even though I am a mobile locksmith. I do not think that my exact location shows up on a google or google map search, even though I did use my home address for verification purposes. #Lockboss

Depends on how big you want to be…what I know..and who I know…. Scammers are not nice.. customers do not just trust anyone… #lockboss
I didn't find it was hard. It was more of a pain setting up yelp, mapquest. Im only mobile but there are some work arounds to get listed. Now apple maps is a joke, don't bother with them. #Lockboss
