Advanced Diagnostics is no longer competitive in my opinion. Just to expensive for small businesses and private customers. The machine itself is more expensive, it requires tokens or plan(per use cost); there are just so many other equally capable machines it makes you wonder if AD is just out of touch or what...
Yes it is, but you dont need to worry about any car programming, i have Autel508 which is great for Gm cars also toyotas and etc , also i have Xtool which is good to make nissans and a lot of brands , but whole day i was looking Smart Pro programming videos to a lot of cars which my programators can't do and smart pro can. Also what i see you can save a lot of time to program key with smart pro than with another computers. UTP is best , another options are just waste of money if you are doing 6-10 cars in day , 267 month and you can use all software , Great guys.
5th option. Buy the AutoProPad, IM608 or 508, Autek or any other machine and if it can't do it, use the SmartPro as a fill in machine on a token eater program. Even having a SmartPro, you will need a backup programmer/programmers for cars it just will not do. No programmer is perfect. #LockBoss
Is there a comparison anywhere that any of you know of that shows what cars the smart pro can program that the auto pro pad can’t? Can the smart pro reflash like the auto pro pad? And now the VVDI has came out with what appears to be a sweet programmer that can do many European cars and do cloning all in one. #lockboss
#Lockboss The UTP makes so much more sense for overall usage. Unfortunately, it starts the countdown for that month right after Install. No jobs, means lost time. Tokens on the other hand is a per use, or per vehicle 🤔. Will let me do what I need to do when I have the job, and store them until I need it again. I have the autek right now, but also leaning towards the smart pro as a backup for what the autek can't do for free. Decisions, decisions lol. Nice training, PJ I am pretty sure the pricing you quoted for tokens was the old pricing. Pricing came down (it's not a sale, it's new lower pricing) 10 tokens are now 250.00 etc. I do the token route and am fairly happy with that. Because I am still green I make mistakes sometimes and end up costing me an additional token. AD is not very forgiving on replacing a token if it is our fault. They should be more forgiving as there is no real training other than their videos and their videos are no where as good as yours. Those techs like to show how fast they can do a car, they are not really trying to teach. Your videos are the best out there for programming. Thanks #Lockboss

CLK's Autek ikey 820 w/ the transponder bundle paid for itself in a month and is by far the best investment any entry level automotive Locksmith can make. #lockboss
I will never buy a machine that I can't own and use without additional fees from tokens and subscriptions. $35k for all the software packages is ridiculous! I remember the Advanced Diagnostic machine from around year 2004 was over $10k for all the software upgrades. Someone in China copied the software and the hardware from that machine and sells it online for $100 today. It makes better business sense to buy a machine like the AUtopropad or Autel and if there is a car those machines can't do then just pass it up. The cost of passing up a few cars every year is a lot less expensive than buying into a Smart Pro machine.
We have just about every kind of programmer out there including 2 SP's. One of my guys went to program a 16 Hyundai with his Autel 608. Programming failed. Brought out the 300lb gorilla SP and it did it without issue. I hate the tokens but these seem to work the best for us. All we do are cars.

IM-608pro to the rescue. I have the Xhorse as it works nicely with the Xhorse key machine. Take a picture of key, it decodes and sends it to the machine. You can do it from a Apple, Android device as well. Have it on 2 iPads, Android Phone and a Android Tablet as well. Use it for the other key tools and the mini prog they offer as well. I have the J-2534 as well so just add the cost of a daily subscription to the bill for the customer. Just factor it in when giving estimate & if you don't need then you can either save them money which they'll appreciate or if they're a pain in the butt you can just leave it on or part of it on.

I was going to say I was looking into getting into programming keys and was leaning into the Autek which I know in a video that was posted that support would come from a Facebook group. #lockboss also I wanted to follow up to see if the esp 339 was shipped. Last update I had was that shipping was delayed but was scheduled to ship out on Thursday which was yesterday.

Hi Phil, yes software updates are free on software you own(updates, bug fixes). 24hr passes once they are on the machine will activate when you program the first vehicle of your choosing but can take up to a few days to download once you put an order in (order, we send po, ad puts on the the virtual bank, you download via wifi) but can happen quick -PJ
We program vehicles in very rural areas, where a lot of the time there is no cell service at all. Does the smart pro need to have an internet connection to program a vehicle? #LOCKBOSS

I feel as though your being forced to buy the larger package to lower your cost per token. Just wish they’d adopt the charge per individual use. Just my personal opinion. I used to do the 250 tokens and we did fine but with unlimited for the year it allows me to make mistakes and not have it cost me or having to call and try to get the lost tokens back. I had a 2000 for ranger use up 5 tokens before I could get it programmed. Unlimited makes me more competitive. #lockboss

Great job PJ. One day the suits at Advanced Diagnostics will figure out just how outdated their token-based business model really is. They had us all in a headlock for years and they mistakenly think they are still the 600 pound gorilla on the block. Meantime most guys I know happily ignore them on their way to the checkout cart with an APP or Autek (or like). I'm not saying the Smart Pro isn't a good product. It is. It's just fighting a losing battle against tokenless. Seriously, I would buy a SP tomorrow if they scrapped the tokens even if they replaced it with an "annual update" fee of $500 - $700. They might even reclaim the vast market share back from the Chinese made clones makers. I buy American whenever possible, but not when tokens are involved.

Trading-in to get a SP is a horrible idea. Can't count the number of times I've had to go grab a T-Code to do the task the SP should've been able to do. No one company's machine can do every task. Some times even when you buy the software, you still have to do the job the hard way. Today, we had two newer GM prox vehicles where the SP couldn't pull the pin. We had to re-learn them with the 30min procedure to add another prox. Good thing it was at the shop and not in the field. What happens if you use tokens and the task fails?? #lockboss
Great investment and holds value. Dedicated updates, tech support from AD USA. Can get into programming mode on some models with active alarm that other programmers won't accomplish. #LOCKBOSS

6th option stays away from smart pro or advanced diagnostic because they're soooo smart they will rip you off big time

Yeah, the utp starts on the first vehicle you download. Getting a 250pk tokens might do the trick but it's expensive up front....-PJ
