Hello, Torridon is a stunning location with some of the best tops in Scotland and when the weather is with you, it takes a lot of beating. Many thanks, Cheers
Hi Tom, Many thanks. It certainly was a cracking day and a joy on the ridge. The bypass is a good option if the weather isn't great but you will need a head for heights that's for sure. Cheers
Hi Alan, Many thanks for your kind comment and I'm really glad you enjoyed this fantastic outing on Liathach. It was just terrific to have a stunning return visit to easily one of the best mountains in Scotland. Cheers
Hi Peter, Really glad you enjoyed this one. It was a cracking day and well worth wait a bit before the start to allow the weather to clear. Torridon is just magic. Cheers
Hi Kevin, Many thanks. Torridon is hard to beat when you have conditions like this and our few hours wait before starting was certainly worth it to allow the clag to clear. Thanks for watching. Cheers
Hi Geoff, Glad you enjoyed this one. We waited for a few hours before starting just to make sure the better weather had a chance of getting in and it was certainly worth the wait. Cheers
Hi Patrica, Many thanks and really glad you enjoyed our wonder along this classic. Liathach is easily in my top three and always a joy to revisit. Cheers
Great to see places I could never get to. My lack of a head for heights prevented me doing any of these hills. In January a trip at Bo'ness heritage railway damaged my right knee. Now I cannot even walk far on the flat. So even a wander up an easy Peatland is no longer possible. Good to see you back.
Hi Dick, Its a pity about injury and I hope it gets better soon to improve your mobility. You would certainly need a head for heights on Liathach but all the tops in this glen are absolutely stunning and very similar in shape and form. Just magic... Cheers
Absolutely brilliant Charlie, as always you captured it magnificently. Loved the shot of Mike at 7.43 👍 Views were unbelievable, Liathach is right up there with SNG in the Cuillins as my fav mountains. Thanks for sharing Charlie ATB Frank
Hi Frank, Liathach is easily in my top three. It's a mountain that has a lot of early memories as we spent time over the winter at Glen Cottage. Never at lot done due to the conditions but the magic of the place with snow near the road was stunning. Thankfully, we waited a few hours for the better weather to arrive as the tops were in clag for a few hours. A stunning day 👍 Cheers
Stunning video Charlie. Did the bypass many years ago and regret it! The Am Fasarinen look exposed but holds all seem fine. One of your best videos. Thanks for sharing!
Hello, Many thanks. The bypass is handy if conditions are a bit wild for the tops but in conditions like we had the pinnacles aren't a big issue. Obviously, a good head for heights but pretty straightforward scrambling in dry settled conditions 👍 Cheers
Awesome video i climbed liathach over twenty years ago I must go back I never went out to the east top so that was interesting thanks for sharing it’s really one of the best mountains in Scotland cheers
Hi Andrew, I would suggest it's a mountain that should be revisited through your walking journey as its certainly one of the best and a bit different from the norm. Cheers
What a jewel of a mountain so lucky in the British Isles to have scenery and mountain expance in a small country and its on your door step not bagged it myself its just the pinnacles could throw the spanner in the works a good head for heights is required 😀 can't wait for the next one
I stumbled up to the initial ridge a few years ago. I've climbed a few mountains, but nothing so precarious as the paths that greet you along the ridge at the top. Stumbling onto the ridge you see at 02:28, the immediate views right down into the valleys (chasms) either side put the fear of God into me, and I decided to head straight back down!
Hi Shaun, Yes, I can totally understand your reaction to the initial views and certainly the right decision to go down. After all, it's for enjoyment and shouldn't be something that takes you outside your comfort zone. Cheers
HI Charlie, Hi Mike. Absolutely amazing gents, what a stunning place, beautiful views. That is one hell of a ridge walk. I have seen videos though of people on the bypass path and that looks even more daunting. All the best gents Dave
Hi Dave, Many thanks. Yes, there is a short bit on the bypass that needs a bit of focus and a good head for heights. It makes a good alternative if the weather is a bit wild. Cheers
My favourite. No view when we did it though. We are heading to the fisherfields a week on Thursday. Praying for good weather. Heading up from York. Thanks for the videos Charlie. I get all my routes from you two. 👍
Hi Ken, Many thanks... I really hope the weather is on your side for Fisherfield so you are able to enjoy the experience. A wee breeze would also be great as the midge are on steroids and waiting for you to visit 🤣 Enjoy..... Cheers
Wow, what a walk and what a video. Our first two Munro’s were on Beinn Eighe with limited views on the day, this video helped show us what we should’ve seen. Thank you, much appreciated
Hi James, You'll enjoy them once you get around to them. Straightforward scrambling in conditions like this but wild weather could make it more challenging. Great to see your journey progressing towards completion and you have generated a terrific video library of tops. Well done....Cheers
Absolutely gorgeous views, fantastic video!! Defo looking forward to coming here. Did the Glen Lyon circuit on Saturday there and your video for that was a great help in preparation. Thank you👌😁
As usual, great video Charlie, thanks for posting! 🙂 This is my favourite Scottish mountain (alongside An Teallach), and I have climbed it at least five times (the sixth time, we had to turn back at about 700 metres because of bad weather), all from East to West, too.
Hi Rosa, Many thanks... It's certainly in my top three and always a joy to visit. We've had a few winter visits up into the corrie (without getting to the ridge) and it's a beast in winter condition. Just a superb area to visit and take in the views, even if you don't leave the road. Cheers
Aye you had the weather for it...and it offers a great experience. Many ( too many) years since I did it with Aberdeen Uni Lairig club. Another good day and you could add Beinn Alligan!
Hi Simon, Now that would have been a cracking day to add Beinn Alligin.... I've certainly seen the day but unfortunately its night 🤣 Many thanks for watching. Cheers
I love the diversity of terrain with our Munros . One day you can be on the “summit” of some non descript Meall with hardly a crag in sight, and the next day you are doing this, or a Sgurr Nan Gillian , or An teallach.
Absolutely fantastic video well done enjoyed my meeting with both on my walk to the triple buttress at the end of march this year really made my day meeting up with you
Hi Kevin, Many thanks. I was wondering if you would drop in a comment. Great to met you on the triple buttress path and I hope you had a terrific day. Take care, Cheers
What a very well made video, The Beast of Torridon, Must admit I found the whole walk a bit terrifying, The huge drops keeps your mind focused, Pleased the weather was kind to you both! Kind regards Mark!
Amazing video of a quite amazing place. Thanks again - wonderful to watch. I was in Glenfinnan on Saturday and turned back at about 740m as the weather really closed in and I was on my own - right call. But jealous of your views! It almost looks as if the ridge is more palatable than the bypass path, which looks a bit thin and precipitous to me. Anyway thanks again. Best wishes Murdo
Hi Murdo, The path can be an option if the weather is a bit wild, although the ridge is obviously better for full views. The ridge is pretty straightforward when you have conditions like this. Cheers
Best hill in Scotland? I think so. Fantastic video Charlie, good to see the views I missed out on.... I'll be doing it again tho! Thanks for taking the time to film, edit and share. Cheers Alistair 👍
Incredible video lad, really enjoyed this.. love how calm your voice is... i think id be lost for words up there with them drops.. well done fellas , keep em coming :)
I remember you two used the by-pass path a few years ago, as did James in Scottish Munro Journey recently. For me certainly, going over the pinnacles looks a lot less scary. The by-pass path looked terrifying.
Hi David, I remember a wee corner of the bypass path certainly needs focus but it's handy if the wind direction and strength makes the pinnacles more challenging. Cheers
Fantastic video Charlie. Well done to you and Mike - you both make it look easy, which I'm sure it is not. Comparing your other video using the bypass path some years ago, which route do you think is scarier and which do you prefer?
Hi Steve, The pinnacles are more enjoyable and better views but the bypass is handy if conditions aren't right for the ridge. The bypass has a short corner which requires a good head for heights and a bit of focus. Its all great fun... Cheers
Hi John, The bypass path is certainly easier but does need a head for heights at one section. The weather conditions play a big part on how individuals find the day as everything is straightforward when you aren't fighting the elements. Always better to choose a stick on weather day to enjoy the experience 👍. Cheers
Great video and an absolutely stunning place, definitely doing this one. Thanks for thi,
Seen a few videos of Liathac including older ones of yours, but this one might top the lot. Absolutely stunning. What a place!
Hello, Torridon is a stunning location with some of the best tops in Scotland and when the weather is with you, it takes a lot of beating. Many thanks, Cheers
Thanks for upload ...a cracking day thee ...it looks a better route than going around the ledges .
Hi Tom, Many thanks. It certainly was a cracking day and a joy on the ridge. The bypass is a good option if the weather isn't great but you will need a head for heights that's for sure. Cheers
You've surpassed yourself with this video Charlie - the walk and your recording of it are right up there with your very best. Congratulations!!
Hi Alan, Many thanks for your kind comment and I'm really glad you enjoyed this fantastic outing on Liathach. It was just terrific to have a stunning return visit to easily one of the best mountains in Scotland. Cheers
Wow that views were incredible Charlie you and Mike are fearless. The path with edge gave me the fear just watching well done to you both 👏
Hi Jason, Glad you enjoyed this one. You certainly need a head for heights but it isn't too bad when conditions are like this. Cheers
Great video thanks. One of the best I’ve seen of the Scottish mountains.
Hi Peter, Really glad you enjoyed this one. It was a cracking day and well worth wait a bit before the start to allow the weather to clear. Torridon is just magic. Cheers
A wonderful video. Thank you. It brings back so many memories. And I agree. One of the best views in Scotland.
Hi Pauline, Thank you. Liathach is a bit special and always sticks in the memory as one of the best. Cheers
A challenging and inspiring journey

Absolutely incredible scenery in this video, the greenery really stands out and makes a beautiful place all the more stunning. Thanks for sharing 😊

Magnificent images of this stunning route. Looked like a great day out, especially as the cloud lifted.. Thanks for all the effort. geoff.
Hi Geoff, Glad you enjoyed this one. We waited for a few hours before starting just to make sure the better weather had a chance of getting in and it was certainly worth the wait. Cheers
