He was lying either on his side or back I can’t tell but he wouldn’t be laid out let alone alive if he had the seatbelt on

@@iMarina3 How? The car can't go sideways. He just ran up beside it, tossed the spikes in front of the tire, and ran back. It would be physically impossible for him to get hit unless he ran in front of the car or directly behind it, which he didn't.

A billion cops, plus EMS and life flight helicopter, what happened to "calling the chase" turned into pit rollover? That whole scenario probably cost easily $250,000. Over a stolen vehicle and suspected DUI.

Yes, this was one loooong chase, ended just north of Muskogee which is abt 40min-1hr SE of Tulsa (depending which way you go).
I live here in Muskogee and I remember hearing that helo, didn't think anything of it because our VA hosp is just up the road and always hear em.

Whilst you want to avoid risking a spinal cord injury where possible, the hard truth is that you can live with paralysis. You can't live without an airway.

@@hardwirecars Whilst I agree to a point, the technology and scientific research in the area of paralysis (&, more importantly, paralysis reversal) is improving at an astonishing rate. Early trials of spinal cord repair are producing really encouraging results.
We're already seeing some previously permanent injuries being reversed and the way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised to see many more paralysis cases becoming "curable" in our lifetimes.
They're nowhere near being able to reverse oxygen deprivation, though, so we definitely live in an age where trying to resuscitate, despite paralysis, is worth it 😎👍
I was an EMT for 10 years and they did the right thing. Airway is always first priority. Without any airway, everything else is irrelevent.
That was one of the worst pits I’ve ever seen an officer conduct. No thought about that angle sending him straight in that ditch. Poor poor policing on the officer who pitted the suspect.
